One thing I didn't like is that they built up Krillin with a brand new move and it was just solar flare×100 and then he used it on the only blind guy in the tournament 😐
I'm a really big Gohan fan, so here's my explanation for how DBS did him so terribly. If Gohan was ignored and they didn't do anything with him, I'd accept it. But they hyped up Gohan in the end of the Future Trunks arc by showing him training, he got his Ultimate form back, they made him say he wanted to get a new form and he had a great fight with Goku, they made him the leader, they did that whole thing where he got a kinda cool part in the opening, they had him fighting with Goku in one of the endings, all of this buildup, all of this foreshadowing, all of this character development with his family, all of the things he did, and then when it finally comes down to it? The best thing he does it eliminate some weak fighters and some namekians and then sacrifice himself with some rat guy. No new form. No cool moments. Not even a single cool line! It sucked. He was the 2nd most important protagonist in all of DBZ, and then DBS just disappoints everyone.
I hated how most U7 members got eliminated 1) Krillin was caught off guard. 2) Tien eliminated himself 3) Roshi eliminated himself 4) Piccolo was caught off guard 5) 18 sacrificed herself 6) Gohan Sacrificed himself 7) Vegeta OF COURSE. the only member that was eliminated legitimately!! 8/9) Goku & Frieza sacrificed themselves Nobody from the other universes look like threats.
Luke V Gohan was hyped because before the tournament he said to Goku "i will become stronger in my own way and achieve different transformations". Then he got 0 transformation and even got fucked up by a fucking yardrat that was blown away by baseform Caulifla when he was using instant transmission around Goku.
I think the biggest negative are the lack of interesting team ups. Besides goku and freeza and gohan and freeza every other team up was predictable and boring. Why didn't we get a roshi, Krillin, Goku team up or hell imagine a Krillin and freeza or Vegeta and Freeza.
Well, you know, when you create a story, you build characters, you develop that story and those characters how you see fit. Based on what you envisioned for them. Maybe you, sir, can write some exciting DBS fanfiction. Or maybe even your own story with your very own characters. That way, you can make those characters do whatever you want and never be disappointed. No questions asked.
My list: 1. Super Saiyan Blue being overused at the start and middle of the arc. 2. Krillin, Tien, and Piccolo getting eliminated in lame ways. 3. Jiren's backstory. 4. Ribrianne. 5. Helles using the same hand pose so many times to gesture at the arena. 6. Majin Buu falling asleep yet again. 7. The poacher episode and the dojo episode. They felt very out of place. 8. Universe 4's erasure being so rushed compared to the other Universes. 9. No hints towards the Zenos holding the tournament for mortals to be more virtuous until the last episode. 10. Caulifla learning Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 in less than 2 days.
Agree with the first. I still think that SSB should've been a trump card in these series, but it just became lame after being used so many times, hell, even ssb kaioken became boring after Goku used it for the tenth time. I still think that Ultra Instinct should've been just a mental improvement instead of a transformation (even though it's a very cool looking transformation).
I thought it would have been great for Piccolo to shrink himself and have a miniature battle with Damon lol. Then lose to Aniraza which spurs Gohan to take him on.
That would have been much better, but can he do that? Imagine how many people would be complaining if they introduce that has a new ability of his LOL.

So basically, there wasn't enough love put into the show. The powerscaling. The consistency. The character development. The corner cuts. My list: 1 - Making Toppo a god of destruction during the tournament who completely annihilates Golden Frieza and then have Vegeta eliminate him in the next episode. I felt like his character was wasted even before these episodes. 2 - Making self-sacrificing moves not self-sacrificing. In my opinion Vegeta dying to eliminate a god of destruction would've been better than staying there with 0 stamina just to have Jiren completely annihilate him in his base form. Also 17, self destruction is self destruction, its not a fuckin gamble. Sure it's cool that he won the tournament of power and he had great fights but then don't say that he self destructed... 3- Piccolo's elimination is unforgivable. Nothing to say about it really, i hate it and i hate Toei for treating him like that, i hope he will have a different elimination in the manga. 4 - Krillin's dailogue during the tournament: "Gokuuuu/18-san/Gokuuu/18-saaaan/Gokuuu". I understand that he cares about them but chill dude, they are not about to get killed... Him screaming in every episode became frustrating real quick. 5-Making other universe's fighters and gods stupid by sending all of them after U7, and committing to that decision even though everyone kept losing. 6 - I don't really care about Tien as a character, but that dude literally never stopped training, he should've been more relevant and have a more acceptable elimination than "oh, let me give you time to destroy the arena under my feet". 7 - Hit was also a underutilized character. When Vegeta first tried to attack him i thought that their rematch was inevitable, and at this point it would've been a good match, not just a one sided beatdown. 8 - At the beginning of the tournament, Goku letting his guard down was a meme, and an annoying one. Even if Goku is a goofy and naive character, he is still a fighting genius, there is no way that Goku with dbz writing would've left his guard down this much. Also about Goku, him not taking seriously the erasure of other universes at first was really disappointing. I know that originally he is not meant to be a hero, even if the dub wants us to believe it, but he always cared about life, again, dbz Goku would've been angry and sad at the same time because of it and then think about the possibility of wishing them back and calm down afterwards. Dbs writing Goku on the other hand: "fuck'em, we will win!!!!".
Victor Aguilera I know that, but it would've been better to not say that he was self destructing. They thought it will be a nice plot twist but that pretty much made the grand priest look stupid who even said that Jiren will not be punished, because 17 killed himself.
Ryukishi07 'The Creator' No, Goku letting his guard down meant that the creators thought it was funny that they made him an idiot even during his fights (it wasn't, it was annoying after the third time). At that point he didn't showed anything that made us thought, "oh he will get a new transformation". First he almost got eliminated because a guy caught him while he was too busy looking at Jiren... That's not foreshadowing for anything at all, same with Goku letting an energy blast hit him in the face because he thought it was interesting that it stopped in front of him.
this attack is useless because it only changes the person's body not the person's power, if u remember in dbz super buu changed vegito into a candy and vegito still kicked his ass because his power remained the same
That actually doesn't matter since turning them into candy could actually be an advtange for some fighters, plus you could write a scenario how zeno gets annoyed by this type of move and forces berrus to make buu return the fighters back to make it more enjoyable for zeno

I hated how everyone was just aiming for Universe 7. Kale is one of the worst characters in Dragonball. She's just as bad as Broly. Only difference is she has a vagina. I hated that Piccolo got the shaft throughout the entire show. He is nothing more than a jobber at this time.

His justification for hating Goku was because he cried as a baby. Thats stupid. Kale's justification was more plausible, with her beating herself most of the time and the fact that Goku was taking away her protégé in her mind. And i gotta agree with the piccolo bit. Hes pretty irrelevant when compared to the other cast, and completely swept away the U6 namekians. They couldve given him some development BUT NOPE!
Piccolo brought Gohan back to his old level and he finished off two universes along with him. His elimination was pretty bad but even then he eliminated two people before in the same episode. You can't really overlook that
What exactly makes Kale a bad character? She wasn't the one with the asspull transformations and amatuerishly fighting on par with Goku. Broly is the worse character between the two. Kale at least has personality. Caulifla is the one that's either just a bitch then addicted to new forms she can do with ease because U6 can do anything.
How about the fact that every character was fodder but Jiren and episodes of fodder vs. fodder would be boring? Its their fault for making every other universe lame.

Kefla was a better character, and should have been the only fan service one introduced. 5 - no "meanwhile back on U7 Earth" episode, notably Goten & Trunks vs. the poachers. Some interactions between Bulma, Chi-Chi, Videl, and/or Yamcha would have been nice. 4 - The fighting arena being made of "super indestructible Kachi Katchin". 🙄 3 - Universe 7 vs. everybody concept: should have been 70 v. 10 if they were going to do it, the universes all taking turns and getting eliminated one by one was silly 2 - Gohan and Piccolo not getting/attaining new power levels (see #7) 1 - Goku attaining ultra instinct 3 times within a half hour
SpiritWolf2K This arc was made for Goku to master Ultra Instinct, Jiren was made stronger than the gods to let Goku reach or surpass the God tier, so it wasn't plot armor, it was PLOT.
SpiritWolf2K - yes, a contrived plot device to get one out of a hopeless situation; in this instance, the 'one' is the DBS writers who I feel were forced to improvise a new ending given the sudden ending of the series (just my opinion for now until an official source states that it wasn't with an explanation).

The entire arc was DRENCHED in Pandering. Krillin got to beat 2 non-important fighters, than "OK we're done with him, the fans will be satisfied now" and Frost slaps him out. Tien as well, he did his moves, he "sacrificed" himself and Beerus complements him on how "impressed" he was. SURELY the Tien fans will be satisfied with this, he DID something. As long as you make sure each character does SOMETHING, no matter if it actually contributes, just have them do their moves and the stupid fans will be happy, then TOSS them ASIDE so that Goku can beat everyone.
Giving Character who arleady have established lore OP power boost Isn't a huge stretch for dragon ball 17 was SSJ1 level 15 years ago and a machine with unlimited energy . It hard to make Krillen Tien competitors without some massive arch devoted to just explaining that there power levels where too low . they where eliminated immediately in the manga lol
Tenshinhan, someone who has trained almost constantly since he beat Goku decades ago, uses fewer moves now than he did then, and fights with no tactics, unlike how he was back in Dragon Ball, or even Z.

I agree with Number. I'm not sure why people were expecting him to get a boost in power like Future Trunks. That would have been horrible writing (again). He did very well considering his current power level and was arguably one of the more consistent characters in the arc.
How did Goku or Vegeta do it? You can argue about Caulifla and maybe Kale, but I'm not sure where you're coming from with Goku and Vegeta. Also, I never mentioned any of these characters in my original post so making assumptions like that is silly.

Would have love some pair ups like Vegeta/18, Piccolo/17, Gohan/Krillin(like old times), Vegeta/18, Piccolo/Goku, Frieza/Krillin, Vegeta/Tien, 17/brother in law Krillin, and Goku/Gohan. -pacing especially for a tournament that is supposedly 48 minutes. Must take forever for a day to end in the world of dragon ball. I would have bumped up the preparation of a tournament to maybe 20 episodes where we see Whis and Beerus train them and each member has their own motivation or goal and their training is over the course of a year and I would have reduced the actual tournament from 33 episodes to 20. -we should have seen more of the different universes throughout this series which many thought would happen before this tournament in order for us to have more investment. -was really hoping they would resist new forms

He should of done more in this tournament. If super ever comes back, they better give him a power up and treat him a lot better than they did here

how does that not make sense. the good parts such as the important fights like vs jiren and kefla and the animation during those fights. the concept and setting of the tournament of power and the return of old characters was done very well. and the bad parts such as the boring filler episodes, the amount of screen time ribrianne got, dodgy animation episodes, and the power scaling were sometimes very bad .HOWEVER, overall the arc was very enjoyable and probably one of the best ones so far. this explanation good enough pumpkin?
I feel like they really dropped the ball with jiren. I don't like how little characterization he had for how much time he spent on screen and how he's the only person out of universal 11 who eliminated someone. I also don't like the flip-flopping with him either. In episode 110 it was stated he didn't have the weakness of getting snuck up on yet 17 walked up behind him and actually caused a scratch on him. The first time he fought Goku he was taking punches from Super Saiyan blue with no issue whatsoever with no need to block yet when he fights a depleted Vegeta in episode 128 cool didn't even have enough energy to go Super Saiyan, he has to block? In episode 122 when he's fighting Goku for the second time he talked about how he's wanting something that lies Beyond strength getting episode 127 strength is the only thing that matters to him. Another thing I didn't like was a lot of the dialogue in this Arc. Whenever Goku or Vegeta did something 5 seconds later it would pan over to the benches where someone from Universe 7 would repeat what we just saw. Shit pissed me off. It got so bad to the point where beerus even told them to shut up and watch

Because frieza has comeback multiple times but cell can't comeback once 4. Didn't like every universe targeting 7, like wtf. But they proved who was the strongest. 5. Didn't like Hit being eliminated as early as he was and Ribrianne and dyspo lasting longer than him. Also, the moment hit had jiren froze, why TF didn't everyone attack his ass and knock him off right then and there. 6. Didnt like the fact it took 5 of universe 7's strongest fighters to beat aniraza 7. Didn't like the fact that there weren't more fusions. Like Goku and Vegeta didn't fuse but if they did Vegeta probably wouldn't have his new form sooo 8. Didn't like that Vegeta didn't get UI but he did get a new form 😬 and is officially stronger than Goku since there's nomore UI 9. Didn't like that they didn't let us see the 6 new universes return 10. Didn't like them not giving a preview to the new Arc.

I dunno. The concept of ultra instinct is fine to me, but they did not execute it well. They didn't explain why Goku gets two new forms due to it and the final fight when he learned how to control it properly did not show the auto attack/defense well.
I hate UI because of what it means for the future of the series. It's basically the trump card of trump cards. A form that allows you to just dodge and attack without thought basically means all tension is gone and because Goku has the most OP form to exist. And even worse is that in order to give Goku any challenge they will either have to power creep beyond even Jiren and UI (which would only need to another dumb ass form) or take the form away from Goku whenever they need tension. It's just like the Dragon Balls already, the only way tension exist is when they kill Piccolo because without him the balls become inert.
Even if the form didn't have auto attack/dodge we still would have gotten a new villain that surpassed the old one. From how it was displayed in the last fight it didn't even really mean much because they treated it just like any other new form. The only real issue from what you said is the fact that it probably will come out when Goku is just about to be defeated in future fights until he learns how to use it properly (if that ever happens).
I hated how Caulifla and Kale were written, otherwise they would have made for great additions. Ribrianne isn't terrible, just bad. I agree with her design being horrendous, but that's a Japan thing. And yes, she has been annoying for most of her time.
Super Gogeta II Kale at least is better than Broly in a sense. Having some form of actual development and her turning into her berserk form is more plausible. Idc if people say that her whining about her being weak is bad, its better than transforming because of baby crying, something that they do on a regular basis.

I agree with all the dislikes about the arc. Unfortunately, big time db fans have expectations above that of a normal viewer. Its super easy to criticize when our expectations aren't met. But if we can give non biased constructive criticism, like this video has done, there would be a lot less hate when dbs fucks up. Its different now a days too(with internet)....back 20+ years ago, I had no expectations, just pure enjoyment watching db and dbz. Now we have expectations..... Which makes it hard to enjoy when the show takes a different route

I'm sorry, but my disappointment begins and ends with Kale. I LOVE Broly. He amazed me as a kid. I'll admit he was poorly fleshed out, but the idea of a Legendary Super Sayain was so exciting. But then to get this cheap, shitty knockoff Kale was just too much. I was really excited for her at first. Seemed like she had a lot of potential. But I couldn't stand her personality. The ENDLESS bitching and moaning was pathetic. And the reasons she went berserk were infantile. Even worse than Broly. To have this cheap Broly cash in be inserted into cannon rather than the man himself was a slap in the face of Broly fans everywhere.

Tournament of power wasn't even a tournament. It was more like Universe 7 vs progressively harder enemies... Like there was no unpredictability, no scenes of other universe individuals fighting (except hit), literally universe7 had like 80% of the knockouts. It was like everything besides universe 7 and whoever they were fighting didn't exist.
You know, as a Gohan fan, I honestly wasn't disappointed by his role in the TOP. The episode where he fights Goku is one of my favorite moments in Dragon Ball history, and it was the Gohan moment I really needed. And seeing him become a smarter fighter like Piccolo and later sacrifice his spot to take out Dyspo was poignant. That said, part of me does wish Gohan had been one of the final 3 (perhaps in 17's spot even though I'm glad 17 got the spotlight). I do wholeheartedly agree that Piccolo (who I prefer to Vegeta) keeps getting shafted.
Victor Aguilera I think that Gohan should continue his training ro become stronger while also being a scholar and his own man, and providing for his family. That's what sets him apart from Goku and Vegeta imho.
Almost everything about this tournament was terrible, and these are some of the examples I'm showing,because this arc has THAT much wrong with it. Constant rule breakings, like characters flying without wings flying across the arena, giving out energy from the stand, the zenos allowing potato earrings, and the mafuba jar, because "it looks cool". Wasting episodes in goku searching for who is fit to participate (even though he could've just asked whis "who are the most qualified to participate"), plus keeping the whole universe erasure part a secret from the others thinking that it would cause a panic,yet it didn't come to his mind that these same people fought with their life in stalk in the past. Heck when they did find out, the thing that surprised them the most was goku lying to them,meaning that keeping it a secret from them was worthless and was there to pad out episodes.Goku still getting blamed by certain characters AFTER it was revealed that the zenos claimed that they would've destroyed certain universes anyways,meaning goku's involvement was a good sign,since it gave the participating universes a chance to survive. Making super saiyan into an even bigger bargain sale than it already was, just to have these two female saiyans achieve it with almost no effort, and goku later acting like he knew it all along (yet he didn't tell gohan this in the room of spirit and time). No sense of proper power scaling to the point where you have tenshinhan, a character that was implied to have trained everyday and was FAR above roshi ever since he was introduced,struggled more than roshi, because of his "secret training" (why would he keep his training a secret?) which the writers just made up as an excuse. Obnoxious and uninspired characters (ex caulifla,kale aka transgender broly, and hit 2.0 er I mean Jiren). A cop out ending that went against the entire premise of the arc,just for the sake of a forced happy ending. It had a very similar problem that the ending of the zamasu arc had. It even tried to make zeno look like a good person,yet this was the same character that erased an entire timeline from one guy annoying him. And lastly, the writers even fucked up something as simple as labeling this tournament as a battle royale,as if they were the same thing. I gave this show far more chances than I should've, and I can safety say that I will never give this show a chance, when it comes back. It can never redeem itself after over hundreds of episodes with very few of them being average, and since the writers don't give a damn about telling a decent story.
Bro9650 Dragon ball series are different,they doing it right in a way that they won't kill off old characters or make them irrelevant just to make others shine. Boruto is trash and has trash ratings because let's be honest, no one cares about their kids even if they try to make them the most OP ninja kids. But at this point it's pretty much 100% that DB will always be Goku's story that everyone cares about.
You guys remember when piccolo was a main antagonist, or when he was the second strongest after goku, or when he was twice for a short time the strongest character, when he used to be part of every important fight. Good times good times
The major problems I had with the TOP is how Goku and Vegeta popping out their Super Saiyan Blue forms. It made it from divine form to something less special. The overall pacing was slow. Also my boy Tien got shafted but hey what can you do. I feel like the writers should have fleshed out the plot better.
B R I can’t believe that people still think that it’s all about “money” or “budget” when it comes to animation. Seriously, go watch AnimeAjay, or someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Money is important, but when it comes to animation TIME and SCHEDULING is what determines how good it is. The reason why the animation in the Tournament of Power looks better than the beginning of the series is not because they got an increased budget. That makes no sense. It’s because Shueisha established “the Dragon Ball room” which allowed for Toei to have time to only work on Dragon Ball Super In an efficient way. If you want absolutely spectacular animation in every damn fight, then forget about Dragon Ball being weekly and expect something more like 12-20 episodes a year.
B R have you ever animated? It takes years to do anything of this length at bad art quality but with the detailed ultra high quality stuff would take huge amounts of time to get the episodes done you would be expecting and episode every fortnight or month
You're right about the over focusing on Universe 7. It felt like everyone was waiting around to fight either U7 or U6. 90% of the eliminations came from these two universes and the majority of those from 7

I (used to) hate Vegeta because he was always bragging about how he was an elite and could do anything, and he killed a lot of innocents, but because he protects one measly planet hes forgiven for all his sins and more. IMO Android saga Vegeta was like Caulifla but much more being a dick and bragging
My Top 10 bad things: 1) The build of Ultra Instinct (since the hour special) being shitted on in the final episode (with Goku saying it was an accident) 2) The pointless fillers 3) Not getting certain fights 4) Stamina issues 5) Certain people (like Ribriane) overstaying their welcome 6) The overall time and rules of the tournament 7) Not having a straight up Martial Arts tourney like in Dragon Ball and DBZ 8) Beerus reviving Freeza 9) Certain eliminations (like Hit and Piccolo) 10) Not making me want to see the coming film
Beerus didn't need to do that. He developed enough through the tournament. Plus Frieza was willing to return to Hell by the end. It sucks about King Kai. He's still dead. Guy allowed the dead Z Fighters to stay with him. Allowed Goku to do die again with his planet and companions. *shakes head*
My biggest gripe with the tournament of power in my opinion is them just half - assing the stakes of the tournament. Like seriously Your WHOLE UNVIERSE is on the line and if they lose its game over, gone, erased from existence. The 48 hours to prepare for this tournament where again I repeat YOUR WHOLE UNIVERSE AT RISK is really lackluster. Doesn't give anytime for the warriors of respective universes to actually TRAIN AND HONE THEIR SKILLS to new heights and utilize everybody. In my opinion the grand priest could've given them at the very minimum 3-6 or hell even a year to prepare for this tournament. Even if we knew that the universes were gonna get wished back it would've been nice to see everyone training their ass off for this tournament.
*This is all my opinion, so no hate. Here's the top 5 bad things about it, from my perspective:* 1. The power scaling was definitely one of the most bullshit things in this arc, especially with Kefla. I found it bullshit because back when Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegito to fight Buuhan, he was NOT as strong as a Super Saiyan God; Super Vegito surpassed Super Saiyan 3 and was definitely under Super Saiyan God level. Kale should've been around Super Saiyan 1-2, not as strong as a Super Saiyan God. As for Super Saiyan 2 Kefla, she should be around Super Saiyan 3-4 level, not almost surpassed non-perfected Ultra Instinct. If that was the case with fusion, Vegito Blue would probably be as strong or even stronger than the Angels. 2. The whole Tournament of Power was basically everyone vs. Universe 7. Universe 7 was the only one getting the most eliminations, there were no other universe teams getting enough eliminations except for Universe 6 & 2. I think each universe should've got AT LEAST 4-6 eliminations, because Universe 9 got one elimination, Universe 10 got no eliminations, and Universe 3 only got one elimination... Universe 3's trump card, Anilaza was pretty strong, and I don't understand why they HAD to pull Anilaza out at the last second. I thought the Universe 7 vs. Anilaza fight was one of the best episodes in this arc, no doubt, but wouldn't it be smart for Universe 3 to fuse into Anilaza when there's only about twenty fighters left, not eight? While all the others were fighting, the battle was only one-two minutes so Anilaza could've done this quick, Anilaza could've taken the time to blow up the entire arena while all the other fighters were distracted fighting other opponents. 3. The non-important characters like Tien and Piccolo not getting enough character development in this series. Piccolo is, supposedly, Akira Toriyama's favorite character... I find that to be bullshit because if he was, he would've lasted a lot longer and would've had better fights; Man, if Tien was only gonna get one elimination, not counting his first elmination because Master Roshi helped him with that, then why the fuck was he even on the team? If anything, Tien should've been replaced with Frieza and Majin Buu should've never fell asleep. You build all this character development for Majin Buu, then you just throw him away? Fuck off, writers. I'm glad Frieza was on the team, but Tien should've never been on the team because he was useless in the Tournament of Power. 4. As I said above, Majin Buu falling asleep after all that character development. 5. I am not a Gohan fan, but I think he should've gotten more time to shine. Gohan spent a ton of time trying to get his Potential Unleashed technique back, but I think he should've had more bigger fights than just Obuni from Universe 10 and the Namekians from Universe 6. I thought the sacrifice to get rid of Dyspo was fine, but I think we should've gotten more out of Gohan. Hopefully the manga will give Gohan more screent-time or let him last a little bit longer. Here's an extra: I wanted to hear Jiren's wish, but we never got to hear it... nobody knows if he wants to get stronger, wish his family and friends back, or kill the opponent that killed his family and friends.

It was Goku centric just like in gt, it screwed some of the best characters like gohan, piccolo, and Vegeta, ribrianne, it was predictable, boring, poorly written story, character development was thrown out the window in favor of Goku, ass pull power up, the entire tournament was meaningless, and the ending was just plain trash.
Peter Hu I actually liked Ribrianne because she had some characterization. She's so much like the magical girls cliche that's she's actually a self centred hypocrite. Her wish is to be a goddess rather than having love throughout the universe and she called Krillin ugly at 18 when actual love isn't about looks. You and many others might think she's dumb and annoying, but I actually like how contradicting her actual character is.
I’ve been saying this for a while. The 2 problems with the tournament of power was the power scaling and spending too much tv time on wrong characters. You take away Kefla (Kale and Caulifla seperatly as well) and properly scale them with simple head caon putting them around Ultimate Gohan, but no match for a God tier fighter. Or add some background story to them where it was more understandable for them to be an actual threat, let alone since God ki. For example, have them train (including Cabba) with Vados since they’ve seen the potential of a sayian. Because I don’t care how differently they evolve, the main source of a saiyans strength is to get stronger after a battle. And Goku and Vegeta have literally died!!!! So they’re peaks should rightly so be far superior to the U6 saiyans different development.......Just removing her (Kefla) alone makes alot of things make since. Then spend less time on Ribrianne, and Kefla (Kale and Caulifla included). And spend more time on fights like Hit vs Vegeta, Cabba vs Gohan, Toppo vs Frieza or Goku, Jiren vs Aniriza, Piccolo vs the other Nameks earlier on, more android 18, shoot even a 18&17 vs Kale and Caulifla would’ve been nice. But way and I mean way less Ribrianne and Kefla.

Am I the only one who didn’t feel like Gohan was “wasted” I thought he did more than enough this arc especially when you consider the sorry state he was in at the start of Super. During the exhibition match and during the tournament he showed that he can combine his brain with his brawn and got some real crafty moves like asking freeza to build death beam cage so that dyspos speed was neutralized. People want Gohan to be the star again but I highly recommend those people watch totallynotmark’s video on Gohan as to why that won’t happen.
What got me also was it’s inability to properly track time. Where one episode can be anywhere from 1 minute or less in real time. Then other episodes can be all the way to 10 mins or more in real time. But I get it, they fight really fast so it slowed down, but do they talk in hyper speed too?!
Caulifla and Kale were amazing characters, for years people wanted female super saiyans and for years people wanted Broly, you finally got both and people still complain. Also I don't get people complaining about Caulifla getting to much to fast, yet when new characters are added people complain about them not being strong enough to compete. Ummm If they wanted to replace Majin buu atleast putting a good character like Future Trunks (I don't know how he can live in his future if it has been erased...) more than adding bad guys like Frieza... And why adding characters like Krillin or Tien or Piccolo to make them getting eliminated so badly and doing almost nothing...
Couple things that were also bad this arc, 17's constant use of self destruct, that abysmal U4 episode, the squash match between the pride troopers and the female saiyans, jiren toppo and dyspo standing around doing nothing for the majority of the tournament and the grand priest stating that zeno would've erased everybody if the winner didn't wish for the other universes, like it's the winners choice for whatever they want imo
I found Android 17 winning the whole thing to be disappointing since it never felt like he earned it. Think about for one second: He appears for the first time after Cell Games, minus a cameo in Buu Saga, is randomly strong enough to challenge Goku in his Blue form and wins despite once again having never truly earned that achievement and wishes for all the Universes to come back out of obligatory reasons rather than something meaningful. It could have been Trunks using that wish and thus risking his chance to bring back his Earth, it could have been Frieza not out of kindness but to secretly plot so that he can conquer the 12 Universes or hell it could have been Yamcha who after training and learning new abilities and Ki Techniques becomes as strong as SSJ3 Goku at his best, who does fairly well in the Tournament but still wishes back the Universe knowing he would loose his chance to ever truly match Goku and Vegeta at their best but doesn't care since he finally regained his confidence and became strong in his own way without Dragon Balls and as such doesn't need the Super ones to reach new levels of power that he might not need.
The writing Jiren as a whole Yet another form ass pull for Goku All of the parallel Saiyan designs are awful and they also constantly asspull forms in the span of 48 minutes. The animation was good but inconsistent at best The pacing was horrible too Gohan's possible character development was wasted. At best this arc had its moments.
Yeah, you hit it on the head with plot. It’s pretty much DBS in a nutshell period. Not enough layers to the stories in any of the arcs. It’s just a bad guy shows up, they fight, they win, and they move on. Nothing really significant happens in these arc. The tone down in violence also dampers the atmosphere and seriousness that Z and even GT had. I don’t need full on gore but I don’t want it to be a Saturday morning cartoon either which it literally has become.
Spot on!!! The biggest problem with the arc was the stamina issue. There were times when they said goku was done, unable to move, and the next minute he's back to full power ups, even going ultra instinct. Ridiculous!
Although it was cool, what was ultimately the point of ultra instinct? It didn't eliminate Jiren, it ended up just being a generic massive power up, and Goku can't use it after the series is over. What did including Ultra Instinct ultimately accomplished? It was awesome, but pointless.
I didn't like how the Zeno twins were like, "fight or be erased." No time to take in some serious moments, and I understand they were possibly gonna erase everything, but still. Also I am confused, I should search the last long again, but was frost brought back?
The annoying thing is that they say transforming into blue costs a lot of stamina, but staying in the form doesn't cost a lot of stamina and they switch out all the time

My list: 10: JUSTICE! JUSTICE! JUSTICE! The Pride Troopers made me so annoyed preaching their justice. Made Frieza have a point with hating it. 9: Not giving Tien, Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan more chances to shine. 8: The Frost/Frieza interactions. The tandem should've gone on MUCH longer. 7: The mockery of the Super Saiyan form. It was such a badass transformation and now it's like shit just happens for anyone. 6: Hit not doing much of anything. 5: Not developing more characters when they're introduced. Give some back story on a lot of the characters that didn't get focused on. 4: RIBRIANNE. EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT -FUCKING BITCH-. 3: G.O.D. Toppo. Hear me out on this one; I like that he became a God of Destruction with the Hakai powers, but it felt like he did too much and ended up doing nothing. If anything, he should've gotten at least one elimination. 2: Vegeta getting a new form and barely using it aside from the Final Explosion. 1: JIREN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It's literally one of the most overused back stories ever. It didn't feel special. It could've has a plot twist that it was Belmod all along and he was getting stronger in order to kill him or something, but no. It was just wasted.

The bug was far worse than the chopsticks. It diminished Piccolo's character, made warriors rely too much on sight, etc. The chopsticks were somewhat of a gag scene, but makes sense in a way since it was Beerus who weilded them- Beerus has extensive knowledge of anatomy, martial arts, physics, weapons, etc and is also extremely powerful putting much force behind his deadly chopsticks

I'm a really big Gohan fan, so here's my explanation for how DBS did him so terribly. If Gohan was ignored and they didn't do anything with him, I'd accept it. But they hyped up Gohan in the end of the Future Trunks arc by showing him training, he got his Ultimate form back, they made him say he wanted to get a new form and he had a great fight with Goku, they made him the leader, they did that whole thing where he got a kinda cool part in the opening, they had him fighting with Goku in one of the endings, all of this buildup, all of this foreshadowing, all of this character development with his family, all of the things he did, and then when it finally comes down to it? The best thing he does it eliminate some weak fighters and some namekians and then sacrifice himself with some rat guy. No new form. No cool moments. Not even a single cool line! It sucked. He was the 2nd most important protagonist in all of DBZ, and then DBS just disappoints everyone.

I think the biggest negative are the lack of interesting team ups. Besides goku and freeza and gohan and freeza every other team up was predictable and boring. Why didn't we get a roshi, Krillin, Goku team up or hell imagine a Krillin and freeza or Vegeta and Freeza.

7. The poacher episode and the dojo episode. They felt very out of place.
8. Universe 4's erasure being so rushed compared to the other Universes.
9. No hints towards the Zenos holding the tournament for mortals to be more virtuous until the last episode.
10. Caulifla learning Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 in less than 2 days.
Good except 9. The Grand Priest looked very disappointed when Vegeta was eliminated. Vegeta wanted to revive U6

Agree with the first. I still think that SSB should've been a trump card in these series, but it just became lame after being used so many times, hell, even ssb kaioken became boring after Goku used it for the tenth time. 1 - Making Toppo a god of destruction during the tournament who completely annihilates Golden Frieza and then have Vegeta eliminate him in the next episode. I felt like his character was wasted even before these episodes.
2 - Making self-sacrificing moves not self-sacrificing. In my opinion Vegeta dying to eliminate a god of destruction would've been better than staying there with 0 stamina just to have Jiren completely annihilate him in his base form. Also 17, self destruction is self destruction, its not a fuckin gamble. Sure it's cool that he won the tournament of power and he had great fights but then don't say that he self destructed...
3- Piccolo's elimination is unforgivable. Nothing to say about it really, i hate it and i hate Toei for treating him like that, i hope he will have a different elimination in the manga.
4 - Krillin's dailogue during the tournament: "Gokuuuu/18-san/Gokuuu/18-saaaan/Gokuuu". I understand that he cares about them but chill dude, they are not about to get killed... Him screaming in every episode became frustrating real quick.
5-Making other universe's fighters and gods stupid by sending all of them after U7, and committing to that decision even though everyone kept losing.
6 - I don't really care about Tien as a character, but that dude literally never stopped training, he should've been more relevant and have a more acceptable elimination than "oh, let me give you time to destroy the arena under my feet".
7 - Hit was also a underutilized character. When Vegeta first tried to attack him i thought that their rematch was inevitable, and at this point it would've been a good match, not just a one sided beatdown.
8 - At the beginning of the tournament, Goku letting his guard down was a meme, and an annoying one. Even if Goku is a goofy and naive character, he is still a fighting genius, there is no way that Goku with dbz writing would've left his guard down this much. Also about Goku, him not taking seriously the erasure of other universes at first was really disappointing. I know that originally he is not meant to be a hero, even if the dub wants us to believe it, but he always cared about life, again, dbz Goku would've been angry and sad at the same time because of it and then think about the possibility of wishing them back and calm down afterwards. Dbs writing Goku on the other hand: "fuck'em, we will win!!!!".

What exactly makes Kale a bad character? She wasn't the one with the asspull transformations and amatuerishly fighting on par with Goku. Broly is the worse character between the two. Kale at least has personality. Caulifla is the one that's either just a bitch then addicted to new forms she can do with ease because U6 can do anything.
How about the fact that every character was fodder but Jiren and episodes of fodder vs. fodder would be boring? Its their fault for making every other universe lame.

8 - the rushed nature of the arc at the end and the quick wrap up of it and the series, including 17 getting deus ex machina'd back to life
7 - story pacing of episodes, went from overly drawn out to compressed
6 - Caulifla and Kale aka when Mary Sue Met Bralina. Kefla was a better character, and should have been the only fan service one introduced.
5 - no "meanwhile back on U7 Earth" episode, notably Goten & Trunks vs. the poachers. Some interactions between Bulma, Chi-Chi, Videl, and/or Yamcha would have been nice.
4 - The fighting arena being made of "super indestructible Kachi Katchin". 🙄
3 - Universe 7 vs. everybody concept: should have been 70 v. 10 if they were going to do it, the universes all taking turns and getting eliminated one by one was silly

The entire arc was DRENCHED in Pandering. Krillin got to beat 2 non-important fighters, than "OK we're done with him, the fans will be satisfied now" and Frost slaps him out. Tien as well, he did his moves, he "sacrificed" himself and Beerus complements him on how "impressed" he was. SURELY the Tien fans will be satisfied with this, he DID something. As long as you make sure each character does SOMETHING, no matter if it actually contributes, just have them do their moves and the stupid fans will be happy, then TOSS them ASIDE so that Goku can beat everyone.
Giving Character who arleady have established lore OP power boost Isn't a huge stretch for dragon ball 17 was SSJ1 level 15 years ago and a machine with unlimited energy . It hard to make Krillen Tien competitors without some massive arch devoted to just explaining that there power levels where too low . they where eliminated immediately in the manga lol
Tenshinhan, someone who has trained almost constantly since he beat Goku decades ago, uses fewer moves now than he did then, and fights with no tactics, unlike how he was back in Dragon Ball, or even Z.

I agree with Number. I'm not sure why people were expecting him to get a boost in power like Future Trunks. That would have been horrible writing (again). He did very well considering his current power level and was arguably one of the more consistent characters in the arc.

I feel like they really dropped the ball with jiren. I don't like how little characterization he had for how much time he spent on screen and how he's the only person out of universal 11 who eliminated someone. I also don't like the flip-flopping with him either. In episode 110 it was stated he didn't have the weakness of getting snuck up on yet 17 walked up behind him and actually caused a scratch on him. The first time he fought Goku he was taking punches from Super Saiyan blue with no issue whatsoever with no need to block yet when he fights a depleted Vegeta in episode 128 cool didn't even have enough energy to go Super Saiyan, he has to block? In episode 122 when he's fighting Goku for the second time he talked about how he's wanting something that lies Beyond strength getting episode 127 strength is the only thing that matters to him. Another thing I didn't like was a lot of the dialogue in this Arc. Whenever Goku or Vegeta did something 5 seconds later it would pan over to the benches where someone from Universe 7 would repeat what we just saw. Shit pissed me off. It got so bad to the point where beerus even told them to shut up and watch

The biggest mistake for this arc was to not let Cell join the tournament.
1. Would've liked to see some fighters get stronger/transform. Ex. ( Gohan, Hit, piccolo, krillin)
2. Wanted different people to participate for universes 7. Ex. ( Cell, future trunks, Majin Buu, Tarble(trained), Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Android 17, Android 18, Frieza)
3. Wanted Cell to comeback somehow. Because frieza has comeback multiple times but cell can't comeback once
4. Didn't like every universe targeting 7, like wtf. But they proved who was the strongest.
5. Didn't like Hit being eliminated as early as he was and Ribrianne and dyspo lasting longer than him. Also, the moment hit had jiren froze, why TF didn't everyone attack his ass and knock him off right then and there.

I dunno. The concept of ultra instinct is fine to me, but they did not execute it well. They didn't explain why Goku gets two new forms due to it and the final fight when he learned how to control it properly did not show the auto attack/defense well.
I hate UI because of what it means for the future of the series. It's basically the trump card of trump cards. A form that allows you to just dodge and attack without thought basically means all tension is gone and because Goku has the most OP form to exist. And even worse is that in order to give Goku any challenge they will either have to power creep beyond even Jiren and UI (which would only need to another dumb ass form) or take the form away from Goku whenever they need tension. It's just like the Dragon Balls already, the only way tension exist is when they kill Piccolo because without him the balls become inert.
Even if the form didn't have auto attack/dodge we still would have gotten a new villain that surpassed the old one. From how it was displayed in the last fight it didn't even really mean much because they treated it just like any other new form.
The only real issue from what you said is the fact that it probably will come out when Goku is just about to be defeated in future fights until he learns how to use it properly (if that ever happens).

I agree with all the dislikes about the arc. Unfortunately, big time db fans have expectations above that of a normal viewer. Its super easy to criticize when our expectations aren't met. But if we can give non biased constructive criticism, like this video has done, there would be a lot less hate when dbs fucks up.

Like there was no unpredictability, no scenes of other universe individuals fighting (except hit), literally universe7 had like 80% of the knockouts. It was like everything besides universe 7 and whoever they were fighting didn't exist.

You know, as a Gohan fan, I honestly wasn't disappointed by his role in the TOP. The episode where he fights Goku is one of my favorite moments in Dragon Ball history, and it was the Gohan moment I really needed. And seeing him become a smarter fighter like Piccolo and later sacrifice his spot to take out Dyspo was poignant.
That said, part of me does wish Gohan had been one of the final 3 (perhaps in 17's spot even though I'm glad 17 got the spotlight). I do wholeheartedly agree that Piccolo (who I prefer to Vegeta) keeps getting shafted.
Victor Aguilera I think that Gohan should continue his training ro become stronger while also being a scholar and his own man, and providing for his family. That's what sets him apart from Goku and Vegeta imho.

Almost everything about this tournament was terrible, and these are some of the examples I'm showing,because this arc has THAT much wrong with it.
Constant rule breakings, like characters flying without wings flying across the arena, giving out energy from the stand, the zenos allowing potato earrings, and the mafuba jar, because "it looks cool".
Wasting episodes in goku searching for who is fit to participate (even though he could've just asked whis "who are the most qualified to participate"), plus keeping the whole universe erasure part a secret from the others thinking that it would cause a panic,yet it didn't come to his mind that these same people fought with their life in stalk in the past. Heck when they did find out, the thing that surprised them the most was goku lying to them,meaning that keeping it a secret from them was worthless and was there to pad out episodes.Goku still getting blamed by certain characters AFTER it was revealed that the zenos claimed that they would've destroyed certain universes anyways,meaning goku's involvement was a good sign,since it gave the participating universes a chance to survive.
Making super saiyan into an even bigger bargain sale than it already was, just to have these two female saiyans achieve it with almost no effort, and goku later acting like he knew it all along (yet he didn't tell gohan this in the room of spirit and time).
No sense of proper power scaling to the point where you have tenshinhan, a character that was implied to have trained everyday and was FAR above roshi ever since he was introduced,struggled more than roshi, because of his "secret training" (why would he keep his training a secret?) which the writers just made up as an excuse.
Obnoxious and uninspired characters (ex caulifla,kale aka transgender broly, and hit 2.0 er I mean Jiren).
A cop out ending that went against the entire premise of the arc,just for the sake of a forced happy ending. It had a very similar problem that the ending of the zamasu arc had. It even tried to make zeno look like a good person,yet this was the same character that erased an entire timeline from one guy annoying him.
And lastly, the writers even fucked up something as simple as labeling this tournament as a battle royale,as if they were the same thing.
I gave this show far more chances than I should've, and I can safety say that I will never give this show a chance, when it comes back. It can never redeem itself after over hundreds of episodes with very few of them being average, and since the writers don't give a damn about telling a decent story.

I can’t believe that people still think that it’s all about “money” or “budget” when it comes to animation. Seriously, go watch AnimeAjay, or someone who actually knows what they’re talking about. Money is important, but when it comes to animation TIME and SCHEDULING is what determines how good it is. The reason why the animation in the Tournament of Power looks better than the beginning of the series is not because they got an increased budget. That makes no sense. It’s because Shueisha established “the Dragon Ball room” which allowed for Toei to have time to only work on Dragon Ball Super In an efficient way. If you want absolutely spectacular animation in every damn fight, then forget about Dragon Ball being weekly and expect something more like 12-20 episodes a year.

My biggest gripe with the tournament of power in my opinion is them just half - assing the stakes of the tournament. Like seriously Your WHOLE UNVIERSE is on the line and if they lose its game over, gone, erased from existence. The 48 hours to prepare for this tournament where again I repeat YOUR WHOLE UNIVERSE AT RISK is really lackluster. Doesn't give anytime for the warriors of respective universes to actually TRAIN AND HONE THEIR SKILLS to new heights and utilize everybody. In my opinion the grand priest could've given them at the very minimum 3-6 or hell even a year to prepare for this tournament. Even if we knew that the universes were gonna get wished back it would've been nice to see everyone training their ass off for this tournament.
*This is all my opinion, so no hate. Here's the top 5 bad things about it, from my perspective:*
1. The power scaling was definitely one of the most bullshit things in this arc, especially with Kefla. I found it bullshit because back when Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegito to fight Buuhan, he was NOT as strong as a Super Saiyan God; Super Vegito surpassed Super Saiyan 3 and was definitely under Super Saiyan God level. Kale should've been around Super Saiyan 1-2, not as strong as a Super Saiyan God. As for Super Saiyan 2 Kefla, she should be around Super Saiyan 3-4 level, not almost surpassed non-perfected Ultra Instinct. If that was the case with fusion, Vegito Blue would probably be as strong or even stronger than the Angels.
2. The whole Tournament of Power was basically everyone vs. Universe 7. Universe 7 was the only one getting the most eliminations, there were no other universe teams getting enough eliminations except for Universe 6 & 2. I think each universe should've got AT LEAST 4-6 eliminations, because Universe 9 got one elimination, Universe 10 got no eliminations, and Universe 3 only got one elimination... Universe 3's trump card, Anilaza was pretty strong, and I don't understand why they HAD to pull Anilaza out at the last second. I thought the Universe 7 vs. Anilaza fight was one of the best episodes in this arc, no doubt, but wouldn't it be smart for Universe 3 to fuse into Anilaza when there's only about twenty fighters left, not eight? While all the others were fighting, the battle was only one-two minutes so Anilaza could've done this quick, Anilaza could've taken the time to blow up the entire arena while all the other fighters were distracted fighting other opponents.
3. The non-important characters like Tien and Piccolo not getting enough character development in this series. Piccolo is, supposedly, Akira Toriyama's favorite character... I find that to be bullshit because if he was, he would've lasted a lot longer and would've had better fights; Man, if Tien was only gonna get one elimination, not counting his first elmination because Master Roshi helped him with that, then why the fuck was he even on the team? If anything, Tien should've been replaced with Frieza and Majin Buu should've never fell asleep. You build all this character development for Majin Buu, then you just throw him away? Fuck off, writers. I'm glad Frieza was on the team, but Tien should've never been on the team because he was useless in the Tournament of Power.
4. As I said above, Majin Buu falling asleep after all that character development.
5. I am not a Gohan fan, but I think he should've gotten more time to shine. Gohan spent a ton of time trying to get his Potential Unleashed technique back, but I think he should've had more bigger fights than just Obuni from Universe 10 and the Namekians from Universe 6. I thought the sacrifice to get rid of Dyspo was fine, but I think we should've gotten more out of Gohan. Hopefully the manga will give Gohan more screent-time or let him last a little bit longer.
Here's an extra: I wanted to hear Jiren's wish, but we never got to hear it... nobody knows if he wants to get stronger, wish his family and friends back, or kill the opponent that killed his family and friends.

It was Goku centric just like in gt, it screwed some of the best characters like gohan, piccolo, and Vegeta, ribrianne, it was predictable, boring, poorly written story, character development was thrown out the window in favor of Goku, ass pull power up, the entire tournament was meaningless, and the ending was just plain trash.

Peter Hu I actually liked Ribrianne because she had some characterization. She's so much like the magical girls cliche that's she's actually a self centred hypocrite. Her wish is to be a goddess rather than having love throughout the universe and she called Krillin ugly at 18 when actual love isn't about looks. You and many others might think she's dumb and annoying, but I actually like how contradicting her actual character is.

I’ve been saying this for a while. The 2 problems with the tournament of power was the power scaling and spending too much tv time on wrong characters. You take away Kefla (Kale and Caulifla seperatly as well) and properly scale them with simple head caon putting them around Ultimate Gohan, but no match for a God tier fighter. Or add some background story to them where it was more understandable for them to be an actual threat, let alone since God ki. For example, have them train (including Cabba) with Vados since they’ve seen the potential of a sayian. Because I don’t care how differently they evolve, the main source of a saiyans strength is to get stronger after a battle. And Goku and Vegeta have literally died!!!! So they’re peaks should rightly so be far superior to the U6 saiyans different development.......Just removing her (Kefla) alone makes alot of things make since. Then spend less time on Ribrianne, and Kefla (Kale and Caulifla included). And spend more time on fights like Hit vs Vegeta, Cabba vs Gohan, Toppo vs Frieza or Goku, Jiren vs Aniriza, Piccolo vs the other Nameks earlier on, more android 18, shoot even a 18&17 vs Kale and Caulifla would’ve been nice. But way and I mean way less Ribrianne and Kefla.

Am I the only one who didn’t feel like Gohan was “wasted” I thought he did more than enough this arc especially when you consider the sorry state he was in at the start of Super. During the exhibition match and during the tournament he showed that he can combine his brain with his brawn and got some real crafty moves like asking freeza to build death beam cage so that dyspos speed was neutralized. People want Gohan to be the star again but I highly recommend those people watch totallynotmark’s video on Gohan as to why that won’t happen.
What got me also was it’s inability to properly track time. Where one episode can be anywhere from 1 minute or less in real time. Then other episodes can be all the way to 10 mins or more in real time. But I get it, they fight really fast so it slowed down, but do they talk in hyper speed too?!
Caulifla and Kale were amazing characters, for years people wanted female super saiyans and for years people wanted Broly, you finally got both and people still complain. Also I don't get people complaining about Caulifla getting to much to fast, yet when new characters are added people complain about them not being strong enough to compete. Contradictions in the DB fandom is a major thing still it seems

Ummm If they wanted to replace Majin buu atleast putting a good character like Future Trunks (I don't know how he can live in his future if it has been erased...) more than adding bad guys like Frieza... And why adding characters like Krillin or Tien or Piccolo to make them getting eliminated so badly and doing almost nothing...
Couple things that were also bad this arc, 17's constant use of self destruct, that abysmal U4 episode, the squash match between the pride troopers and the female saiyans, jiren toppo and dyspo standing around doing nothing for the majority of the tournament and the grand priest stating that zeno would've erased everybody if the winner didn't wish for the other universes, like it's the winners choice for whatever they want imo
I found Android 17 winning the whole thing to be disappointing since it never felt like he earned it. Think about for one second: He appears for the first time after Cell Games, minus a cameo in Buu Saga, is randomly strong enough to challenge Goku in his Blue form and wins despite once again having never truly earned that achievement and wishes for all the Universes to come back out of obligatory reasons rather than something meaningful. It could have been Trunks using that wish and thus risking his chance to bring back his Earth, it could have been Frieza not out of kindness but to secretly plot so that he can conquer the 12 Universes or hell it could have been Yamcha who after training and learning new abilities and Ki Techniques becomes as strong as SSJ3 Goku at his best, who does fairly well in the Tournament but still wishes back the Universe knowing he would loose his chance to ever truly match Goku and Vegeta at their best but doesn't care since he finally regained his confidence and became strong in his own way without Dragon Balls and as such doesn't need the Super ones to reach new levels of power that he might not need.

Yeah, you hit it on the head with plot. It’s pretty much DBS in a nutshell period. Not enough layers to the stories in any of the arcs. It’s just a bad guy shows up, they fight, they win, and they move on. Nothing really significant happens in these arc. The tone down in violence also dampers the atmosphere and seriousness that Z and even GT had. I don’t need full on gore but I don’t want it to be a Saturday morning cartoon either which it literally has become.
Spot on!!! The biggest problem with the arc was the stamina issue. There were times when they said goku was done, unable to move, and the next minute he's back to full power ups, even going ultra instinct. Ridiculous!
Although it was cool, what was ultimately the point of ultra instinct? It didn't eliminate Jiren, it ended up just being a generic massive power up, and Goku can't use it after the series is over. What did including Ultra Instinct ultimately accomplished? It was awesome, but pointless.
I didn't like how the Zeno twins were like, "fight or be erased." No time to take in some serious moments, and I understand they were possibly gonna erase everything, but still. Also I am confused, I should search the last long again, but was frost brought back?

Laughing stock u have to understand that the whole TOP was 48 minutes. The battles were like 1 minute long.
The annoying thing is that they say transforming into blue costs a lot of stamina, but staying in the form doesn't cost a lot of stamina and they switch out all the time

10: JUSTICE! JUSTICE! JUSTICE! The Pride Troopers made me so annoyed preaching their justice. Made Frieza have a point with hating it.
9: Not giving Tien, Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan more chances to shine.
8: The Frost/Frieza interactions. The tandem should've gone on MUCH longer.
7: The mockery of the Super Saiyan form. It was such a badass transformation and now it's like shit just happens for anyone.
6: Hit not doing much of anything.
5: Not developing more characters when they're introduced. Give some back story on a lot of the characters that didn't get focused on.
4: RIBRIANNE. EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT -FUCKING BITCH-.
3: G.O.D. Toppo. Hear me out on this one; I like that he became a God of Destruction with the Hakai powers, but it felt like he did too much and ended up doing nothing. If anything, he should've gotten at least one elimination.
2: Vegeta getting a new form and barely using it aside from the Final Explosion.
1: JIREN'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. It's literally one of the most overused back stories ever. It didn't feel special. It could've has a plot twist that it was Belmod all along and he was getting stronger in order to kill him or something, but no. It was just wasted.

The bug was far worse than the chopsticks. It diminished Piccolo's character, made warriors rely too much on sight, etc. The chopsticks were somewhat of a gag scene, but makes sense in a way since it was Beerus who weilded them- Beerus has extensive knowledge of anatomy, martial arts, physics, weapons, etc and is also extremely powerful putting much force behind his deadly chopsticks
