    Great take on this. I watched so many 2 click flare videos but this has got me in the road at last. So many people say it's more about the fingers but im getting much better results after watching this. Love how it was explained.

    Best tutorial i have seen yet. You actually explained everything instead of just showing off. I have been using my fingers too much just like you said

    This is the only tutorial where someone has emphasised the thumb action, this makes a lot of sense. Been struggling with the flares as all my muscle memory is in transformer styles as in the fingers. Many thanks ✊️

      awesome man i'm glad this video helped you out… being that this is an open fader scratch your thumb is essential in performing this scratch … i am thinking about redoing all these scratch how to vids now that i have a better camera ..

    I kept coming back to this video over the last year or so. I really struggled to develop my two clicks to the point that I avoided doing them most of the time. Over the last two months though, I became stubborn about getting the timing down at speed, and something clicked. I can double time at 94 - 95 BPMs, and my hand has fallen into using the pinch grip, similar to how you do them.
    Now I just have to beat the muscle memory into being more consistent without it falling apart after a few seconds. This is the BEST 2 click tutorial video on UA-cam.👍🏾

      Good way to get the two clicks is learn the reverse og flare with the tear on the pull back. DJ throwdown has a tutorial on it. Really help me

    its so interesting how in tons of tutorials people don't focus on the crossfader technique to get consistent double taps with crossfader hand this to me is personally the biggest part to overcome with these and really for how simple they are its been easily one of the hardest scratches to learn and repeat reliably. m thanks for being one of the only ones to focus on the most crucial part of the technique very helpful

    Best thing to do this is without sound on, just learn how the clicks sounds when it hits the edge, then start to doit whit the sound on.

    Hey, awesome video man, quik question, when im doin my flares, im gettn 3 notes forward, & then 3 notes backwards, equalling 6 total notes, is that a 1-Click Flare, or a 2-Click Flare my friend? Ive gotten that down pretty good, maybe not like super fast at the moment. Like, sometimes I can pull it off fast, if wanted, but then sometimes it skips the last backwards note, if my hand/record placement, wasnt enough before the sample, like you had mentioned in this video...lol.... Sometimes, I've noticed my left-hand/cross-fader hand gets all tense, & stiffens up, wich then im scratching like shit, any good ways to train my wrist better? I wicked wanna learn the 2-Click Flare, but have a feeling that I'm only doin the 1-Click Flare, I think, but I guess thats why im asking....Thanx a bunch homeslice.... 🔥💯👍💪🙏🎶🎛️🌎

    Defo More about switching the sound off with your thumb. But the one transform in the middle is my problem with I'm trying to do it fast. I'm too much thumb!!! Lol

    I have the technique down just having a issue as far as speeding it up....did u have this issue?if so how did you fix it...?.....that reeeeaaally frustrates me because I know what I want to do just cant get the speed up

    • @CJScratch
      @CJScratch  7 років тому +2

      it just comes down to muscle memory and building up that hand strength... but i would suggest try scratching to instrumentals with different bpm's... that should help you get your timing down ... thanks for watching

    Thing is i'm able to 2 click flare but it's mainly my index and middble finger that pushes and not my thumb at all. I move my hand like a crab claw. I feel that there's many different ways of using your fingers on the fader and that there's no best options... no ?

  • @Standon798
    @Standon798 6 місяців тому

    I heavily rely on my thumb for all clicks, only just discovered the finger (transform) method. Do I go back to the drawing board??? Great video btw - huge help!!!

      no i would say keep playing with it all you need to do is get you thumb and fingers in sync …the pinch motion will come with time.. you can always contact me through facebook messenger and we can do a video chat to discuss more

    CJ i've been practicing to get this fast for over 6 months now, n about 3 months before that to get a descent speed in the double timing., worn through the faceplate to the metal from flicking fader so much, starting to wonder tho if will ever get it to swing super quick like your speed towards end of vid, any advice? :) ino practice/rest/practice , am determined to get this one tho, seriously blows my mind at how much actual disciplined practice it takes to get these on lockdown, question.....how long did it actually take for you to get to that level of speed? kind've would like to no if 9 months is still fuck all time to expect getting quick yielding orbits, big ups to you CJ, you Sir have put down the countless hours/days/months maybe years???

    • @CJScratch
      @CJScratch  5 років тому +1

      Great question... well I started scratching 20 years ago so Im kind of hazy on how long it took me to get the two click orbit to roll fast . If I had to guess i would say about a 1 1/2 on my strong side . I think you are going about it the right way it just takes practice go slow get the control of the technique first. Speed comes with time but it really comes down to repetition. When I started scratching on my weak side I can honestly say it took be about 3 years just to get the motion and still til this day I can't get them to roll with speed. Keep up the good work it will happen for you when you least expect it most importantly don't get frustrated and remember this is all about having fun. I guess my best tip would be to stay as relaxed as possible don't tense up your hands . I hope this helps if you have any other questions feel free to hit me up on facebook messenger we can video chat . Look me up on facebook facebook.com/wheelso.steel

      @@CJScratch hey again CJ been a long minute am still on the grind getting these down, I am thinking it's taking mucho time because I have my weak hand which is left on the fader and dominant hand on the record, getting them rolls more consistent orbiting holding for 6 7 cycles before turning to mess
