Got them from a local AC Delco auto parts store and the brand and part number was “Buy BS144”. The parts store went out of business this year, but maybe the part number can help you. There was a $25 core on the shoes, so they’re out there somewhere…..
Just came across your video, loved it! I'm working on a 1948 1 1/2 ton Loadmaster. Just like your's, no brakes taking it into the shop! :=) Can you tell me where you purchased your brake shoes?
Got them from a local auto parts store. Their really old sign says AC/Delco. They sourced the relined shoes for us and there was a $25 core on each shoe! Let me know if you want me to see if I can find the part number.
@@greghayes5514 I have the part number from our parts store. It lists the brakes as “Buy BS144”. If you provide me an email or cell number, I’ll send you a copy of the receipt that includes the info on the parts store, where you can likely order them from and have shipped to you. Or they might just give you their supplier.
@@danedwards7597 Hey Dan! Just bought a 1951 280(?) and have been scouring the internet for brakes. Do you know if these brakes would work on a 51? If possible too I would love to get in contact about that receipt from your local store
They aren’t available new you have to get them relined. Very often a shop that rebuilds clutches will reline brake shoes. Check google and the yellow pages for someplace near you.
That’s a great question, depends on what parts you need. I highly recommend going into an old auto parts store and finding the oldest parts guy and make a friend. Most of the big chain auto parts stores counter guys are not car guys, so old guys are the key!
Just what I needed to see before I start on the brakes of my 47 GMC. Thank you
You bet! Glad it helped
It ran really well. New shoes and ready to go..Nice.
I believe it spent its life on the docks at the port of Oakland. It’s a cool truck for sure!
Where did you get the brake shoes? I have a 2ton chevy,i been looking everywhere for brakes without luck

Is this for sale?
No. It lived it’s life on the docks in Oakland and now it’s living it’s retirement on a farm for events. Sorry!
Right on...im lookin for one to restore/use as a material hauler...I've come across several 3100's but have a hard time finding a 3800
Your truck is not a 1 ton, it’s a 4400 1-1/2 ton.
