You had come to his palace in hope of having tea with him, and perhaps indulging in a little waltz as well… It had been ages since you last seen him, and it caused a distasteful feeling in your stomach whenever you had thought about it. But that was enough of unpleasantries for now, you thought, for it was time to meet his Grace. _Or so he liked to be called._ With one last smile and wave, you bid a temporary good-by to the jellyfish which twirled and spun, and made your way down the grand hall. The hall was as grand and as large as it always had been, with likenesses of Poseidon adorned at every corner. It hadn’t changed at all since the last time you visited, and it filled you with great joy to know that. For in this world of constant change and uncertainty, it was good to know that at least one thing could remain the same, despite the endless rage of storms outside. It never hurt to have a little constancy, you believed, for things which could endure hardship, could endure for all time. That was your philosophy of the world, and you stood by it with an unwavering fidelity and devotion. Just as you had remained faithful and dedicated to his Grace himself, for in his truest of forms, he was the very notion of permanence sprung into physical form. When you had passed the end of the hall, you found yourself before the great door, and without another moment of hesitation you knocked upon the smooth marble; once, twice, three times. With its coral pillars standing as tall as the Kolossòs Rhódios, and the baldaquin being as luxurious as the fleece of Chrysomallos… And sitting atop it all, upon a throne of pearl, was his Grace; _The Great Sea Wizard Parthenius._ His eyes shimmered like precious stone as he laid his eyes on you, and he smiled the smile of the star-beams. But in the midst of his twinkling, his lips parted, and he spoke; his voice a tender tremolo, one hardly forgettable once one had already heard it. “Hello, you…” he simpered, resting his hand on his chin, “how I just knew you’d come, old friend.” And with that he chuckled softly, but only once, as he slowly rose from his seat and sauntered his way towards you in his usual blithesome amble.
