I purchased a Daniel Defense MK12 about a year ago. By far my favorite AR15 of all the ones I own. After trying multiple types of ammo, IMI 5.56 77gr OTM will hold 0.5" 5 shot groups with bipod. Best I have found so far is Hornady Black 223 75 gr, 0.4" 5 shot groups. Well over 1,000 rds through it, no issues.
Last month, I spent $2,500 for a DD MK12 special edition in the forest green. Not cheap by any means but well worth it. I recently just put a Trijicon ACOG on it and it’s about to get more expensive too!
Wow, I paid $1,300 for my DDM4V7, including sales tax, in forrest green before Corona. You got hosed! I also paid just under $3,000 for a brand new SCAR 16 before Corona. I can't believe how the gun industry in taking advantage of consumers since 2020.
@@jrowinski82 the MK12 is a totally different animal than a DDM4V7. My local gun shop has the V7 for $1,700…Yeah, $400 increase now due to inflation. But checking online, even Gunbroker has the MK12 for $2,300 before tax. This is because V7 has a light weight 16inch barrel, MK12 heavyweight 18inch bull barrel due to it being a DMR. That’s your price difference right there. Also, MK12 features a full rifle length gas system that’s adjustable, V7 is carbine length system. That, and the MK12 also features a lightweight quad rail system. All this means the MK12 will be much more expensive than the V7 with the lightweight mid-length gas system. In fact, these days, if you go for the V7Pro, with the lightweight 18inch full length gas system barrel, it’s at least $2,000. So no, I didn’t get hosed. It’s just the way it is!
@@joshuarowinski9092 SCAR 17 is $3,500 these days you know that right? EDIT: and that’s without tax. With tax, a SCAR 17 is closer to 4,000….Sorry. I’d use that money on my MK12 and spend the rest on something cheaper, like a Springfield Saint Victor .308 AR-10 for 1,400 with 2 magazines and tax included.
@@StryderK just bought one today on their website ! $2480 total 😳, Does feel overpriced but with what uncle Joe is saying , this is my last AR15 because like you I’m going to put only expensive shit on it lol! Cheers bro!
It's really meant for long range. The red dot would definitely work but your visual limitations would be how far your MK12 can shoot. I put a 1x8 VCOG on mine. I have used it out to 800 yards. I have seen guys use a red dot as an off set mount.
@@bearhead9633 I wished the VCOG had a wider selection of reticles for it but that’s just me complaining. Lol! Which reticle did you end up going with and did you go MIL or MOA? My brain must operate in reverse as it prefers MOA. I think it must be an attention deficit, dyslexia or something of that nature. Lol!
so what? the pistol design, browning locking mechanism is over 100 years old, or the bolt actions still in use....as we as humans get dumber and dumber there won't be much progress in the firearms sector....some point in time things are devolped fully
The man took nearly 13 minutes to read the DD’s MK12 page. Impressive.
I didn't make it through
I too can read the Danial Defense brochure.
I bought one years ago, still my favorite!

@@StryderK I would save for a DD 308 if you don't want SCAR and avoid SA at all cost. You can only use ONE rifle at a time, make it count.😉
Thankyou, very nice commentary and yes you can not go wrong with Daniel defense.
Cool gun, hate the lower.
This might be an odd question but would it be a bad idea put something like an eotech or a red dot on a rifle like this?

You can do with your rifle whatever you want but i'd recommend Vortex razor 1-10 magnification , with a 45 degree reddot

@danielgarfield2395 sorry I never got back. I went with the MRAD tree reticle that the Marines are using.
Actually, "AR" is just the first two letters in Armalite. It doesn't stand for "Armalite Rifle." They made shotguns, too. Look up the AR-17.
I support your company and the 2nd amendment will be buying from you guys soon!!!
All that and then “geissele” is pronounced wrong.
I own this gun. It was worth it when it was $1500….now that it’s nearly $2500…no thanks.
