no how much distance from bottom of beam to the wings that form the 4 way on the sides of the wedge=in other words, how wide is the top chunk of the wood on the top part of the split on the 4 way?
Growing up my father had a ranch house and we heated entirely by wood at least eight quarts of winter and we split everything by hand hammer sledgehammer in the wedge but then we upgraded and I bought two lickety log splitters and I love those things
agun17 funny you say that because I would like a sharpened bottom to this splitter so I can do just that as well. I slams down with 900 pounds of weight.
Hi Blair I am ordering a tm pro 2 30inch from matt. I will use it on a bobcat t650. I get some very tough chunks of wood for free. I am trying to decide between the 4.5 and 5 inch ram. I dont care about speed. I have high flow. Which team did you go with and why. Thanks tom
tomcooke6670 I need to measure it. My splitter is powerful but there are some tricks to using it better. After a few hours, you will start to get it down.
Looks like a very powerful piece of machinery, but (there's always a but) it looks like you have to spend a lot of time moving and positioning the rounds to split them vs a stand alone splitter that you just keep feeding. Don't get me wrong this splitter looks like fun ,but if you're running a business and/or are pressed for time I don't see being a good choice.
"like butta"! man, you have the hottest toys! I had a wood yard when I worked Texas. in winter, it was this, or go do mistletoeing all day when work was slow. LOTS OF HACKBERRY! be well mister BlairGlenn~
Yep, I said the same thing. There is nothing like twisted up southern live oak. Concrete is easier to split. I've only got a 22 ton splitter and you have to get creative sometimes to get through it.
I cannot think of a tougher wood to split then the Central Texas Live Oak especially when it has knots. The splitter impressed me..
Every time I use this tool, I’m impressed.
They say a "professional" makes the difficult look simple. Man, you made that look sooooo simple.
The secret is in the skidsteer. If you can use it well then the splitter comes natural.
Nice gesture and nice splitter. Thanks for the videos.

If I grab a 12” piece, it splits into 4 equal pieces. A 24” piece can be split into 12 equal pieces. Etc
Thanks
Thats a slick splitter there
Robert Bettis thanks

Never used one but they seem good
Do they also make a giant mechanical axe you can just swing around?

pls make it happen.
How much clearance do you have on top part of 4 way wedge
Never measured but about an inch from the beam. Is that what you mean?

tomcooke6670 you will love it. Same unit. Multiple heads, 4 way my favorite. Tell Matt you saw this. Thanks.

Probably a dumb question ,but do you use the smaller splitter to reduce the size even further?
like a rock I bought the smaller splitter first. When I got the bigger more powerful splitter, I don’t use the smaller one very much.
Blair
Which ram did you get. 4.5 or 5. I am leaning toward the 5

tomcooke6670 this video shows a lot of the tricks
Your good deed for your neighbor will be repaid when you least expect it!
Mike Redding he gave me a gift certificate but I didn’t want it.
Thank you
It surely does look tough, a bit jerky, yes? Thanks for the video.
What you calling me?
On no you misunderstand, I meant the machine controls seems a bit jerky, I guess that didn't come out right. LOL. Sorry about that.
Duncan MacKenzie I was joking
Cool as your AC in the 195...delux!
Elffirr Design supposed to hit a 100 this week!

You can add 15 degrees on that for where I'm at ! 🔥🔥😣
Nice machine ! 😊
Sure that you have, but have you put it to the test on some twisted gnarly eucalyptus ? 😆
Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
Did that too!

The splitter moves and picks up the rounds and positions them. You don’t need to get out of the cab.

"...And like a good neighbor... Blair Glenn is there.."
Gunther Ultrabolt Novacrunch I have the mountain neighbor attitude. Do for others and start a trend of giving.
That looks like Red or White Oak not Central TEXAS Live Oak.

It's Central Texas Live Oak with out a doubt
