The roads are really good, you can surely take your i20, we dont see any issues there! One of our friends drove to Goa in September in his i20 along with his dog from Pune, and they were very comfortable! For the stops you can check the Goa playlist, have everything documented :)

Last time Nipani road was not that Great (3years back)
Majority of the road is good, except some patches after Nipani, it has not changed much since Feb 2020 (last time we went)

Roads are pretty good through Nilani-Amboli ghat… if you go through Kankavli-Sawantwadi, roads are bad in patches!
