Probably my favorite part about this playthrough is when Andy develops a gambling addiction at the Virtual Poker table
Andy does exist on UA-cam. I haven't seen much from Andy other than highlights.
I was nearly screaming at the screen when Andy got to the rebel village and kept getting rupees before finding chest omfg.
Been watching other place this all week. And now I get to watch Andy suffer through this as well while having fun at it.

Didn't see anyone mention it, but, the speedy diagonal is probably because of how the game itself was programmed, rather than a specific quirk of GameMaker. The game likely just does +/- to the X and Y for the direction inputs, so you get a "double input" on diagonals (it's not *really* faster on either the horizontal or vertical, it's just going on them at the same time).
This can be hard to avoid on some games though. You typically want to keep the character on-grid, even if it's a grid of 1 pixel. If your character's speed is 4 pixels a frame, the ideal change when moving on both the X and Y would be √8, which is about 2.8. This could be rounded to 3 and not feel too bad (unless you're on a grid bigger than 1x1). But if your speed was something like 2, the ideal would be √2, or about 1.4. Rounded up it'd be 2 and feel fast, but rounded down it'd be 1 and feel much slower.

I was wondering what Andy's response was going to be once he found out he could kill the fireball shooters.
Don’t neglect the kinstone drops. Although a mega distance to build sometimes, they often give you the big upgrades/items in the game.
That Agahnim fight is way too difficult, if you just kept your items it wouldn't be that bad. I get it's supposed to be a challenge but geez it's extreme.
there are more things u can do in the village.. pick up the chickens and get eggs, which one can be a golden egg that gives u 200 rupees.. return book to the library.. bomb the lower right corner of the deset area for a secret room. have to be very thorough in this game! there are so many secret rooms, false walls etc

1 hour 15 minutes in: the bomb bag would have given you a free bag space (because bombs no longer use a slot).

I know it is not a rom hack, but does it generate roms? Or is it a computer only program?
It is a PC only game, it is not a ROM or ROM generator, it creates the dungeons using procedural generation i.e. it's different every time you play.
What happened to speed running the game?

You probably figured this out already but the option for a borderless window is in the options.ini file.
This is a pretty great game too.
I also managed to reach agahnim on my first try, got rolled, then I didn't really try again. It feels kind of weird for a roguelike to remove your items, kind of beats the purpose in the journey to the end.
I wonder if items interact in some weird way with the fight itself and would make coding inconsistent. Doesn't really feel like a design choice, and if it is certainly its a weird one.
