I used to service these when I was generac service tech. And believe me these monsters at full load will shake your insides because of how loud they are. Amazing machine!
What are numbers on fuel consumption?
@@nikolahekler2713 not sure about the set in the video, but we have a 600KW unit that burns almost 60 gallons per hour at full load

Yeah, this commercial unit can run a hospital or a high rise hotel. If it was in a neighborhood.. it could probably power a couple hundred homes... might be loud in your yard, but you'd be a pretty popular guy powering everybody around you lol.

I have a 7500 Onan in my Dutch Star Diesel Coach. The main engine is a Cummins 8.3L ISC. The coach model is type 3565. I should mention that the ENTIRE coach is as big as that Genny. Different player's, same world.

I should know. I’m a power lineman for the local power company. Whenever a customer can’t be restored with full power. It’s in our authority to hire a contract generator company to provide temporary power. From a single customer to a supermarket. From 120/240 to 277/480. As well as everything inbetween. I know first hand how loud these are. I wear hearing protection whenever I’m near the big boys. They have an attendant that stays with the generator when it’s running. A E-1 electrician hooks it up & tows it with a Ford Super Duty pick up truck. If it’s a big boy? They tow that out with an over the road tractor.
I have a generator at my house. A little gas job compared to the 3 phase models they use at work. A smart person today has a generator. Or an alternate means of powering up your house by other means. With stronger & more frequent storms. The time has long passed that everyone have one. It’s like an insurance policy you hope you never need? But in case you do? It’s right there. It’s peace of mind for me.

Out of curiosity, are there newer diesel generators with Aftertreatment systems?
Typically you can get “cleaner” units with upgraded after treatments as you move up the Tiers and with newer generators. Depends what state etc the unit is going to be run what you need. Somewhere like CA requires Tier 4. This unit is an older Cummins and went to a hospital for standby service.

Its the camera speed that changes the fan speed . Its a illusion.
@@ruxoneto6560i was wondering the same thing, that’s a huge cooling pack for the size of engine, I assumed it was turning slower than the engine.
Big surface area & a slow fan vs a smaller cooling pack & a much faster fan.
Larger slow fan much less likely to suck in debris, like little old ladies walking by 😂

It is a small fuel tank. You can see two sets of 12v batteries in series tied in to the two starters on the opposite side.
That thing only makes 2500kw? that's not much for that big machine.
Yep standard industry 2500 kW…. Really not much size difference between CAT, Cummins, MTU etc. Even the 4 MW we have onsite is only a little bigger.
