Dr. Taylor, I just looked her up on YT and she has a channel: ua-cam.com/users/SRFitness1107featured Perhaps you add her channel url link to her contact info in the description box. I'm finding your videos a while later than everyone but I think they are incredibly helpful. Thank you!
Crying from relief of listening to a real woman who has experienced exactly what I'm going through RIGHT NOW!!!! Thank you for making this video. Checking out Shana's website immediately.
I am so happy to hear this. Please keep watching so that you learn everything you deserve to know. And if you need my personal help, don't hesitate to schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
One of the most helpful videos I have ever seen, this spoke to just about every question and concern I've had about entering into menopause. So much of the discussion really resonated with me!!! Thanks millions.
OMG this is so spot on! When I hit full menopause I could not hold my weight. I knew by the way my body felt, I had hit full menopause. I have struggled so much, I want to be healthy and as fit as I can. Also you don’t have the energy to do a ton of stuff. Thank you for doing this and being honest. It gives me hope. ❤️
You are correct. But, just knowing that your metabolism changes at menopause is very powerful in managing your weight. And if you want me to help you personally, just schedule a consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
I watched this a couple of years ago, and just re-watched it. Love, love love it - excellent advice and knowledge - thank you Menopause Taylor - your videos really help me understand what is happening to my body.
I love knowing that you go back and re-watch previous videos. As you progress further into your menopausal life different things become important. So, each time you re-watch a video, you learn something new.
Thank you for what you are doing. You ARE a Barbie Doll! I started early too. I thought I was PREGNANT. Age 38! Periods abruptly STOPPED. I was afraid to take estrogen. I am now 65. I now have osteoporosis in my hip and in my arm. I am in pretty good shape, kind of. I farm the garlic my hubby started and taught me how to do. I also have two goats that make me smile every day. I stay busy and work hard. You are a gem and a beautiful gal sharing what you know, helping others tremendously. ❤️
Oh, thank you so much, Mary Jo. I just love giving you this education. If you want my help tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU, and to help you replace the bone you've lost, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
Thank you for this informative video! It's so interesting to hear the suggestions on workouts and types of food to eat during this stage of life. I've been subscribed to Flipping50 and she also reiterates a lot of what your guest speaker discussed today. Even though I'm 44 years old, a lot of what she discusses is applicable for women in peri menopause and menopause. I've often thought that you (Menopause Barbie) and Debra Atkins from Flipping50 should do a video together!! That would be AWESOME!! 😊
Well, I'll just have to meet Debra Atkins, won't I! Isn't it great to discover that there are so many of us trying to make things better for menopausal women? We're all passionate about it.
I loved this video Barbie! I was excited to hear that the areas that are of value for menopausal women are--- flexibility and balance. I am 62 with no joint pain and recently started running because I thought my belly fat might reduce and my stamina increase. I am a ballet teacher, former ballerina and still take ballet. Thus the first two things are my strength but aerobic endurance is not. I think instead of cardio, I should discipline my eating according to this video! I have at least ten lbs more of belly, thigh, hip fat than I would like. Thank you for introducing such a sensible woman to all of us. I agree about the fasting~ it makes no sense to me at all and glad you validated that.
I love hearing this. I agree with you completely. Don't run. You'll hurt yourself. Blame the extra weight on Mother Nature because our metabolism slows down at menopause ... way down. That makes us gain weight. And for some crazy reason, Mother Nature decided it would be a good idea to accumulate weight in our belly area. Knowing that can help you by keeping you from doing something (like running) that will not lost the belly fat, and only hurt your joints. I'll be giving you more videos here another that address these issues. Stay tuned.
Argh-- I hate the belly fat but don't really want to change my lifestyle. Technically not overweight , but yes-- vain! :) Thank you for your advice. You look amazing and an inspiration! Think I will get on my bike and more ballet classes instead of running. Hugs~

Interestingly even if you have never been pregnant ( MB has not had children ) at Menopause this makes no difference at all to Pelvic Floor Health. The Kegel Queen is also on FB. It is so important to know the correct technique because a lot of Professionals in Health Care are teaching this vital exercise incorrectly. All the best to our community here as woman, all different, but all with that common thread of "Menopause" 🙋
I'm 37, and either in perimenopause, or it's due to the drugs I have to take for PTSD, will figure it out after lockdown, but Barbie you are such a godsend. And both Shana and you look so beautiful here. I always feared hitting the 40s and 50s, but if they look like you, then bring them on. Lots of love and thank you from India.
I'm here to help you, my dear. If you watch these videos in order, you will know everything. And if you need me to help you personally, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME.
I am not quite finished watching this video, so it may be mentioned later on but an extremely important exercise is "Internal exercise" & what I mean by this is Kegel's! Kegal's require focus on the internal muscles in the Pelvic floor just as much as Barbie T talks about focus on exercise for your body! This is really vital for Kegal's. Google "Kegal Queen" to access excellent advice on Kegal's. I follow her program & it is one the best around that I know of. So many "Professional's" in Women's health actually teach Kegal's incorrectly, just as correct form & focused attention to different muscle groups is required for overall exercise. It is also a vital requirement for exercising internally. It's so great to have these women share their experience & knowledge in the community of youtube, Thank You ladies!

For those who don't have time to watch the full interview (although its great), a few takeaways: health is at least 80% diet, 20% exercise; way of eating should change to carbs low in starch and higher in fibre, plenty of good quality fats like nuts, seeds, olive oil etc. Don't fast, do eat a healthy breakfast. Exercise: less time and less weight - recovery is not as easy and muscles and joints more prone to damage. Bad diet high in processed foods causes inflammation in joints. Mastering the squat is essential for functional fitness as it is used in every movement in life. Accept that everyone is different and so you should adapt diet and exercise to suit your needs. Resistance training with weights or bands is important to prevent osteoporosis. Slow, mindful movements better than rushing through it. Low impact is best. Balance and flexibility most important and related to core strength. And stretch, stretch, stretch!
If you would like a more efficient delivery of the education, please consider doing one of the following: (1) Buy the set of 15 webinars & watch them all in order (2) Buy the set of 2 DVDs & watch them in order (3) Buy my book & read it in its entirety, chronologically These videos are intentionally long and detailed. Many of my viewers do not speak English as a mother tongue. And I cater to every learning style.
A huge Thank you!! I am really appreciative to be able to learn from those who have gone through this process. This is life, from the day we are born its a constant state of change and chemical adjustment, some phases are harder than others. I am committed to doing what it takes for the best quality of life I can have , but it is difficult sometimes.
As a Fitness & Nutrition Coach who works with women, I LOVE everything about this interview and instruction! My dream is to open my own women's only studio in Ibiza in the next couple of years. Thank you, Shana & Barbie T. :-)
Awesome tutorial and Shana is amazing! At 53 I have done Callanetics on and off for last 10 years of my life and it is amazing at what it has done for my body and mind! I urge so many ladies to consider as keeping supple, strengthen the core and also understanding diet that works for each individual, is key! So many ladies need replacements of hips and knees as they age and this certainly will assist. It is about own body weight and also having fun together and being able to share 😄!
Amen Sisters!! Couldn't agree more to everything you are talking about. Good fats, don't calorie count, exercise tailored for you, avoid processed foods. Well done ladies for the real talk.
Thank you so much for another awesome informative video!! You are stunning and such amazing physic. What an inspiration you are..I feel so blessed for finding you. I have Dominique Sacshe to thank for that for featuring you in her youtube. I love you and your energy soooo much. Be safe and god bless you always.
Thank you Dr. Taylor, for this video and all of your videos. I have read several books by various acclaimed doctors of endocrinology and gynecology, and none of the information is as clear and concise and rings as true, as what you teach on this channel. Thank you also, for interviewing Shana Ross.
You are so welcome my dear. I just tell the truth. And I tell you the whole story. I have no angle and nothing to push on you. And you can see that logic makes sense. I love knowing that you are benefitting from this education.
Dear dr Taylor. Thank you SO much for such useful video! (Watching in order as instructed). Not yet menopausal but this video is amazing. We do a lot if stuff in my gym involving TRX, bosu and other similar stuff. I must admit sometimes I was wondering what the heck we are doing it for. Now I know. Thank you and Shana so much (subscribed to her UA-cam channel). All the best and thank you again!
I really enjoyed this video. How wonderful there's a menopause fitness specialty, yeah Shana! . I hope Shana continues to make videos on her YT channel. There's a big trend of doing intermittent fasting for weight loss. I'd love to know your thoughts on this for menopausal women (since you both mentioned eating breakfast).
I'm more than happy to give you my opinion. And although I always tell you that the only opinion that matters is your own, on this I think my opinion is worthwhile. I think fasting is ridiculous. Just ask yourself: How many animals fast voluntarily if food is readily available? None! So why, then, do humans do it? It isn't what your body wants. The human body was designed to eat frequently ... every 2 - 3 hours. The more time you put between meals, the more your metabolism slows down. The more your metabolism slow down, the more food you store as fat. The more you store as fat, the fatter you are. It's as if your body says, "Hey, I don't know when I'll get fed again, so I'll store as much as I can in the form of fat." Alternatively, if you eat frequently, your body gobbles and processes food quickly. That's called fast metabolism. And because your body knows it will get fed again soon, it does not store food as fat. It all makes sense, doesn't it? I NEVER skip a meal. And I eat every 2 - 3 hours as long as I'm awake. Most thin people eat frequently. That's why they're thin. Most fat people eat infrequently. That's why they're fat.
@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you, Dr. Taylor. I wholeheartedly agree. I think there is a deep confusion between the well thought out "eating small, fresh and real, not snacking between meals" (that is my mantra) versus eating big volumes of food several times a day including right before bedtime (bad). What works for me is eating three times a day. Thank you again, Dr. Taylor!
Oh my goodness Dr. Taylor. This has edified what I have been doing this past couple of weeks which is concentrating on movement, flexibility/balance doing yoga and stretching. And lifting weights is my favorite but when I do even a hard HIIT workout once a week is doable. I enjoy doing it daily but my body tells me by giving me insomnia that it does not like it. I miss the after workout oxytocin I would get after a run or heavy weight lifting. I am learning. I eat a high fat diet. Avocados, olive oil, nuts/seeds, veggies, moderate protein, low carbs like jasmine rice, sweet potato, baked potato...
As someone who has been into fitness her whole life (and who now eats very similarly to how your guest was describing), this episode was extremely interesting.
I love your guest! She is grounded, and wise, and trustworthy. I agree whole heartedly with her nutrition approach, I eat foods that are "alive" and oh the good oils, real butter, nuts and seeds...ha I will stop now! I love you Dr. Barbie, thank you for this one!
You are such fun, Cindy! I always love your comments. I really want to meet you some day. Thank you for reiterating what Shana said. She's a real expert, that's for sure.
This is such valuable information! Just today I was at the grocery store, feeling discouraged and emotionally low and looking at the cheesecake and ice cream and I really wanted it, but I thought "what will this do for you? Sure, it'll give a thrill to your tastebuds, but that lasts about a minute and the insulin spike lasts much longer. AND...diabetes runs in your family, so..." I headed for the produce section. Flexibility is the opposite issue for me, I have lipedema which causes hypermobility, so my joints/tendons are prone to injury from being too flexible. I have to be really careful!
Phala B on UA-cam focuses on menopausal women. Phala is amazing!!! I would love for Shana maybe to offer her workouts and ideas in an accessible format:))) Thank you Shana and Dr for your excellent information and sharing !!!
my appetite has increased so bad. started menopause at 43 been rough I have gained 50 pounds don't seem to be able to lift weights any more Did it for 2 yrs now I have very little engery. I am 51 now thanks Jennifer
Jennifer, Have you ever seen a nutritionist or dietician? They can be so helpful in getting you started on eating correctly. I think that's the first focus. And then you'll have more energy for exercise.
I agree! I wish I could clone Shana. She's fantastic! I'm going to make a special DVD just for fitness trainers and exercise instructors and I hope to help a lot of menopausal women that way. I'll be sure to get Shana's input for that.
I loved this video so very much!!! Thank you to both of you, I have subscribed to Shana's channel. I'd love to find someone in my area with her knowledge and passion for helping women.
Great video. These are the type of exercises I do with my trainer; she is big into balance and light weight lifting. One of my favorites is TRX! I bought a BOSU and a stability ball. I work from home and sit on the stability ball and when on a conference call, stand or do step ups on the BOSU!
You're definitely on the right track, Sue. Bravo for you. You'll see that your balance gets better and better. And good balance is what will prevent you from falling and breaking your hip. I'm proud of you.
I changed my diet after watching documentary “Forks over knifes “, in this documentary they stressed that oils and fats of any kind clog our arteries and we should not use them as food items. Thank you for your work Doctor Barbara!
I'm familiar with "Forks Over Knives." But be careful. Some fats are not only good, but essential. I'll be teaching you more about this in the Heart Attack unit starting in August.
I'm with you Susanna- life changing that movie was along with many others now! yay! I decided to get my essential fats from the whole plant foods that I eat not from oil processed out of foods. Following the giants in that movement like Drs Esselystyn, Campbell, McDougall, Bernard, Popper, Klapper, Fuhrman....just to name a few - all advise this with decades of patient care behind them. Fat free is never a goal.
Totally agree, I had a personal trainer and he thought he knew everything. Very cocky!! Not saying that they are all like this, but the majority of personal trainers think it is their way is the only way! I had one personal trainer, that wrote out a diet plan for me. There were so many carbs in the foods that he chose don’t know where he got his education from? Terrible information. I’ve learned more from UA-cam videos then I have from talking with personal trainers! Thank you for the wonderful information!👍🙏😀
Great video. I believe too how we eat and exercise our entire lives has something to do with how our bodies handle menopause. I appreciate you sharing your experience, it's very helpful.
I'm glad you are watching and learning. Everything impacts everything else. BUT everything cannot substitute for everything else. That's why this education here on my UA-cam channel is so broad.
Amazing,! I exercise every day around 10am w working at home at mo and always wondered if I should every day! I incorporate HIIT, Pilates w balance, thank you so much 👍🤸♂️
There are so many things like this that can help women as we evolve. It's all really easy stuff ... it's just that it's entirely different than what everyone else talks about.
I'm so glad we're able to shed light on some aspects of your health that aren't apparent. So many in the fitness world are all about "No pain, no gain." That's just not true for menopausal women. The goal for us is to avoid pain and all the injuries that come with it.
This lady talks sooo much sense and a massive inspiration. Thank you MT for this very important video and message. I'm going to take mostvof the advice on board. My only kickback is her diet. There is so much unbiased scientific evidence and data now showing that eating meat, dairy, fish and eggs is not optimal nutrition for our bodies and consuming large amounts of processed oils too when whole food plant based fat is far better (eat the olive not olive oil). So, I guess I'm so pleased she feels heaps better ( I truly mean that) for all the changes but what's the long term effects if her dietary lifestyle rating the animal products? I know you don't advocate that either. It goes against everything Dr Caldwell Esselsteyn, Dr Michael Greger, Dr John Mcdougall, Dr Dean Ornish, Dr Neal Bernard, Dr T.Colin Campbell, Dr Milton Mills, Dr Kim Williams, Dr Douglas Lisle, Dr Goldhammer and the lovely Dr Brooke Goldner (to name a few) advocate. I know that some people will scoff at giving up these foods with the "we have eaten meat for years mantra", but health wise, they are not the best for added excess cholesterol, saturated fat, AGEs, TMAOS, animal hormones, IGF1,,,,, etc). So, I guess I was a little disappointed because as she quite rightly says diet is 80/90% of our success and all these factors contribute towards major Western diseases which, with a lack of estrogen (which also protects us) is a recipe for disaster long term. Surely! P.s. I'm certainly not consuming coconut oil regularly as Dr Greger also states (and you've recommended his book) it's not good.
@@MenopauseTaylor thank you MT, and from one perspective you are so very right. I do see where you are coming from. From another perspective, I think its actually more complex than that. I could shove meat and fatty cheese down my face and ignore the science just because I like the taste and equally at the same time not give a dam about the planet and the animal cruelty which is aborant and my future health 20 years down the line, because it's "all about me" and what I want (not necessarily need) and what I regard as "best for me". So, I don't think it's that simple. It also depends on who one is listening to in order to make an informed decision yes? These Drs have proven 100% plantbased is superior. Nobody can refute Dr T.Colin Campbell 20 year China Study. So whilst I appreciate your channel is not to shove veganism down everyone's throat (I get that I do) I can't subscribe to someone else saying 90% is diet and by the way eat pork, eat eggs etc. We can lose weight living off cocaine and working out....... Anyway, I chose your channel because you are qualified in womens health, seem totally caring, compassionate , dedicated and vegan yourself because I think you set a great example to others that living on plants is great. You are a vision of health.
I feel like I'm fighting for my life... As far as squats, I've had severe knee problems since I was a teenager, so how would you deal with that. I've always loved exercise and eating well. Thank you.
Every one of us has to find the proper exercise for our level of ability and fitness. No two women are alike. I'm a severe arthritic. And I work out every day. BUT, I do everything in slow motion. (I tell people I have two speeds: slow and stop.) I do no impact, no speed, and no heavy weights. But I still get a good workout FOR ME. You have to find what works for you.
I started eating 5 times a day at menopause because I lost weight. I also lost weight when I was on birth control. But fortunately I gained it back very recently. She is a gift to women and so are you! What works for one person usually does not work for another! I was walking 8 miles a day when I broke my ankle in 2 places. I was having balance problems and they wanted to give me anti depressants. Now I can't walk unaided but I am up to a mile a day on a cane. But a big difference from 8 miles. I live in NYC once the blizzards start I can't walk and even before then it will be too cold. Just the gym for me starting next month. I was a personal trainer too and the women used to talk about menopause very mysteriously and were very hesitant to talk about it. I learned this stuff by living it and then read books and so on. I was having my period then. They said just wait until you hit menopause you will see how hard it is. I said hard in what way? None of them would tell me. I really appreciate this education. The "loving my wine at night" comment I used to hear from most of the women. Also smoking to lose weight. They usually don't care unless they have bladder cancer. I have a friend with bladder cancer and she is getting hypnosis for quitting smoking. I had to learn the stuff she is talking about from a PT when I broke my ankle. I am not working out nearly as much as I used to before the fracture. I have severe Osteoporosis and getting my updated Dexa in December. I am taking private Tai Chi lessons for balance and movement. The movements she is doing are like what they teach in therapeutic Tai Chi. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication! Great video!
You have such a positive attitude, despite your struggles. I'm just so glad to be able to give you an education that will help you for the rest of your life. You're progressing through these videos masterfully, and I just know that you're connecting all the dots.
Thank you! My computer was not working for a while I was trying like crazy to sign into youtube. So I missed out on a few that I will have to do tomorrow but I just saw the one your friend that you operated on for free! So touching! I am trying to get my list together for the consult and catch up on some videos first.
The more videos you see beforehand, the more you'll get out of the consultation. I'll prepare a document that re-teaches you everything you want to cover, but it won't be as complete as these videos. But, having seen the videos enables you to make greater progress during the consultation.
I love Pilates. It trains your strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, etc. and it can be slow or a little faster. The breathing and mindfulness is also part of it. Highly recommended!
Gosh I’m only 40 and I can’t lift heavy weight anymore! It creates so much tightness fatigue and pain in my body the next day. And weight gain too because I’m so exhausted and not recovering
This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
Concerning not eating breakfast - I have been doing intermittent fasting for 2 years and have never felt better. I do not feel sluggish from waiting until lunch to eat. In fact, I have more energy than when I was eating in the mornings. My lab results have improved and my weight is down 30+ lbs and I feel way more energetic. How can it be bad for me? Aren’t we supposed to do what works for US, as you say? I only ask because I have heard you mention on several videos that IF is bad for women.
Great interview and video. Wish I could find someone as knowledgeable in my area. I only have found a few exercise videos of yours, is there some you have done that are not popping up in the search?
I publish exercise videos here and there, usually within units on something to which they apply. So far, I've only published: (1) This one, (2) Video 17 on my exercise rules, (3) A yoga video entitled "Yoga Barbie's Way" that has no number and was published on October 31, 2017, (4) Video 173 on Exercise for Preventing a Heart Attack. Coming up in the long osteoporosis unit will be 3 separate exercise videos that you'll love. They will be videos 213, 214, & 215. You'll see all sorts of exercises that I made up myself.
@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you for your reply. I have been meaning to tell you my husband is not anatomically correct. His arms and legs are to long for his body. His arm span is about 6 inches longer than he is tall. Until I met him never knew that our arms span was equivalent to our height. One last question, have you been to Portugal?
@@nancydavis9712 You make me laugh. We long-armed folks are really great huggers, though, aren't we! And I have not been to Portugal! But I am definitely going soon.
Her diet sounds so similar to the keto diet that changed my life. I lost the last 20 pounds that seemed impossible to lose. Gained energy, returned to my youthful small waistline again. And yes, I love all the wonderful healthy oils, more protein no more aching joints. I’m able to play with my grandkids in every way. It’s also helped me to eat more calories than I’ve eaten since being a teenager. Whole heartedly agree that what I fuel my body with is MY CHOICE! I choose to use real protein, fats and low carb vegetables !! Thanks for sharing this! It explains why keto has been so amazing for me. ♥️♥️♥️
@@rosalindaparrish9897 Well, thank you so much for that. I really don't have a favorite exercise. And I made up all my own exercises to accommodate my severe arthritis. In this education, I give you actual exercise videos sprinkled throughout, in the various units to which they are best suited.
I can do the squats but since putting weight on my thighs I have trouble getting back up to standing position lol. I wish I knew someone like that lady she is brilliant but they dont have people like that in the UK.
It's true. It is difficult to find fitness professionals who have any idea what's best for menopausal women. One of my goals with this whole menopause education is to educate fitness people, too. I'm in the process of creating an educational video specifically for fitness professionals.
You can ask me anything. I'll always answer you (unless I get one of those "Failed to post" messages that prevents me from doing so. It's rare, but I never understand when that happens).
I sometimes watch/move to the Fitness Marshall...really makes me laugh and I don't realise I'm exercising. (P.S. it's not at all slow or deliberate movements, but it is good fun).
I make up my own exercises. I go to the gym every day, use all the cardio machines (one each day), and then do some resistance training with either weights or bands. But I add a balance & core component to all my resistance training. That's where my creativity comes in. I finis it off with a few minutes of yoga. I've never used an exercise video or UA-cam channel.
I don't know if I'm at menapouse yet but I would definately not eat fat during menapouse. Butter, cheese and milk during menapouse sounds like suicide.
YES BARBIE I have started a movement!! I’m teaching Movement/Pilates over on my channel Divinethreefold Helping us move properly and exercise appropriately for each of us while focusing on the changes that our bodies are experiencing! The better question is, "Why wouldn't you be hungry?" I mean, if you've gone for over 8 hours without eating, your body should need food. That's why "breakfast" is called "break the fast." When you were a baby, you ate ever 2 or 3 hours. You need to consider why you would go for 4 or 5 or 6 or more and not feel hungry. It all has to do with how fast or how slow your metabolism is. And your metabolism is faster if you eat more frequently. It's slower if you eat infrequently. I can't tell you how many women lose weight simply by eating breakfast.
Your story is common. I'm going to make a special DVD just for fitness trainers and exercise instructors. It will be all about the special exercise needs of menopausal women. Mu goal is to educate the professionals who serve you so that they don't provide a disservice.
Dr Taylor I think it's a great idea about presenting to fitness trainers. I am now in meno and I am a trainer. Im just 53. But I too did research to help myself and other menopause women. Thank you for having this wonderful guest and for your videos!
Not at all! It increases your risk for Alzheimer's by leaps and bounds. None of the pushers of intermittent fasting knows anything whatsoever about menopause.
SHANA SHOULD TEACH US ON UA-cam HOW TO EXCERSE, AGREE PEOPLE????
I'll talk to her about that. She's phenomenal.
Dr. Taylor, I just looked her up on YT and she has a channel: ua-cam.com/users/SRFitness1107featured

Shana looks AMAZING at 57, thank you for all of the great information!
Yes, she sure does! She's very strong!
Hugs~

This program has helped me immensely!

Wow i love this lady, she sound very understanding.. I need her in my life!!
Yes, Shana is fantastic!
If you would like a more efficient delivery of the education, please consider doing one of the following:
(1) Buy the set of 15 webinars & watch them all in order
(2) Buy the set of 2 DVDs & watch them in order
(3) Buy my book & read it in its entirety, chronologically
These videos are intentionally long and detailed. Many of my viewers do not speak English as a mother tongue. And I cater to every learning style.
I am watching these videos from Toronto Canads..just so you know what a big impact you are making in a positive way from where you are..God bless!!
Yea! I love knowing that these videos are helping you. And I LOVE Canada. I lived in Whistler, B.C.
One of the best videos! It has helped me see that this time of life is about adaptation, education and feeling what is right.
Exactly! You can make the rest of your life the best of you life.
Menopausal women are so forgotten by so many industries. Kudos to Dr Taylor and Shana.
Thank you so much omg she doesn't look 57years old she is amazing great video God bless.❤🧚♀️😃
That's what a healthy lifestyle looks like.
I understand. But it sounds to me like you get it. And that's the first step. I'll help you find different ways to make it all work for you.
As a Fitness & Nutrition Coach who works with women, I LOVE everything about this interview and instruction! My dream is to open my own women's only studio in Ibiza in the next couple of years. Thank you, Shana & Barbie T. :-)
Good for you, my dear. Maybe you'll become a menopause fitness specialist. I applaud you.
You are so right, Terri. And once you start thinking this way, it just makes such sense, doesn't it! Thank you for contributing.
Amen Sisters!! Couldn't agree more to everything you are talking about. Good fats, don't calorie count, exercise tailored for you, avoid processed foods. Well done ladies for the real talk.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this, It's all really simple, isn't it!
Thank YOU for being proactive and taking care of your future. I applaud you.
You are so welcome, my dear. And isn't it wonderful to know the utility of your efforts!
Kelly V. I've heard a lot about the intermittent fasting too. I would like to heard Dr Barbies opinion on the way of eating
It's as if your body says, "Hey, I don't know when I'll get fed again, so I'll store as much as I can in the form of fat."
Alternatively, if you eat frequently, your body gobbles and processes food quickly.
Thank you Dr Barbie!
Taylor!
@@Roxanambaresearch You are so welcome, dear Roxana.
You see. You're seeing that you already do some things just right ... but now you know why they're right.
Not sure, but I think basmati is a better rice than jasmine... tweaking. 😘
@@kimbryant7714 I think basmati rice has a lower lower glycemic index than jasmine rice but jasmine rice has its benefits as well.
As someone who has been into fitness her whole life (and who now eats very similarly to how your guest was describing), this episode was extremely interesting.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
So pleased to find this, I have been wading through really bad advice from non experts and ppl who have no experience. Thank you
You are so very welcome!
Menopause Taylor, oh! To meet you would be a dream come true, you're very very special to me. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are so very welcome, my dear.
my appetite has increased so bad.
started menopause at 43 been rough
I have gained 50 pounds don't seem to be able to lift weights any more
Did it for 2 yrs now I have very little engery.
I am 51 now thanks Jennifer
Jennifer,
Have you ever seen a nutritionist or dietician? They can be so helpful in getting you started on eating correctly. I think that's the first focus. And then you'll have more energy for exercise.
Thank you Ms Taylor & Ms Ross. You S. A. V. E. D. my life.
Well, I am thrilled to know that I've contributed ... but you did all the work, my dear.
Thank you Dr Barbie. You taught me a lot about exercise and diet for menopause. Your guest was very knowledgeable and wise.
You are so welcome, Nena. Shana is phenomenal. She's the kind of person who exudes that special something from the moment you first meet her.
i think i have 80% sorted daily fitness esp as still working at home, last year went vegan but there is always more to learn.... i subscribed to Shana
Good. She is quite an inspiration.
I loved this interview! Thank you
You are so very welcome!
Shana would be great at training other trainers in helping the menopausal woman. This is a fabulous video. Thank you.
Yes, I wish there were more fitness professionals like Shana. Unfortunately, they are hard to find.
Fabulous video. I really wish I could find somebody like Shana in my hometown (regional Australia). Don't fancy my chances but I'll give it a go.
Yes, I wish we could clone her. She is just stupendous.
Excellent video Barbie and Shana. Thanks for sharing your own experience. I agree with all of this.
Hey, Moji! Isn't Shana spectacular? So few in the fitness industry focus on menopausal women. I think it's the best group on earth.
Very Very True... @ the gym trainers dont really know whats what for menopausal women!!
They have absolutely NO education on menopause. I am creating a menopause education program for them specifically.
I incorporate HIIT, Pilates w balance, thank you so much 👍🤸♂️
You are so very welcome, my dear.
Thank you so much for this ladies it was phenomenal!
Lovely lady. Of course, always been a strong supporter of exercise. Feels wonderful. Thank you! You both got me laughing with you.
Shana is incredible. I wish there were more exercise professionals of her caliber.
Another great video Barbie, I really enjoyed it, thank you. You look amazing in your workout gear x
You are such a sweetheart, Lorraine. Thank you. I wish you lived near me.
Ahh me too xx
Thank you both. This was wonderful information. You're both fabulous.
Well, than you, my dear. I wish there were more fitness instructors like Shana around.
Love the great insights into nutrition and fitness for life during and after menopause!
There are so many things like this that can help women as we evolve. It's all really easy stuff ... it's just that it's entirely different than what everyone else talks about.
Great informative video! 👍😊
Shana is spectacular, isn't she!
This is an awesome video! I workout every day, but this has given me some great new tips. Love it. Thank you!
I'm so glad we're able to shed light on some aspects of your health that aren't apparent. So many in the fitness world are all about "No pain, no gain." That's just not true for menopausal women. The goal for us is to avoid pain and all the injuries that come with it.
Gosh I loved this interview. Thank you for inspiring me to get back to training (especially flexibility! )and healthy eating 🙏
Well, this is just such a nice comment. I am smiling about your inspiration.
thank you so much .. Barbi one of the best info ❤
You are so very welcome, my dear.
I am 53 and have an almost 9 year old son. I need to get healthy to be an active part of his life
I loved watching this video. Shana, can't believe how easily you could pick up the 20 lb ball! I can hardly pick up 10 lbs.
So true!
This was so super informative!! This is my goal now - balance and flexibility = strength !! 👍🏼👍🏼😊
Exactly! Those are the things you need most as you age.
Thank you both of you, it is very helpful! Such a pleasure to see beautiful ladies
You are so very welcome, my dear. It was such a pleasure to do this with Shana.
Wonderful! Thank you both.
You are so welcome!
GREAT video! Thank you for the information! Would LOVE a gym like this and a trainer like Shana near my home in Indiana!
So true! I wish facilities like hers were everywhere. She's splendid.
Wow, what a great person.
Yes, Shana is one of a kind. I wish we could clone her.
I think the best thing to do is to listen to YOUR body and do what's right FOR YOU.
@@panes840 Thank you, my dear.
enjoyed this video. I'm not menopause yet but would love to see her UA-cam channel and ideas of her exercise. It will be so
good.
She's truly an expert.
(I tell people I have two speeds: slow and stop.)
I do no impact, no speed, and no heavy weights.
I love it, too!
This is so incredibly helpful!
Love this video - the whole thing was informative.
I'm glad you liked it. Everyone loves Shana.
Very important video! 😊
Yes, it is!
I am so glad to of seen this video...A nice wake up call
I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Shana is fantastic.
Love this video! So informative. 🙂
This video is right on. Thank u so much!

AWESOME video!!!!! Thank you♡♡
Great interview and fitness advice.
Don't you just love Shana? I wish there were more people like her.
Yes, I do love Shana. She has an energetic attitude.
Wonderful interview! I do wonder how you handle squats with badly arthritic, painful knees?
They are difficult for me. I always do them with a knee-high surface behind me in case my knees die out. And I do them v e r y s l o w l y.
Great interview and video. Wish I could find someone as knowledgeable in my area. I only have found a few exercise videos of yours, is there some you have done that are not popping up in the search?
I publish exercise videos here and there, usually within units on something to which they apply. So far, I've only published:
(1) This one,
(2) Video 17 on my exercise rules,
(3) A yoga video entitled "Yoga Barbie's Way" that has no number and was published on October 31, 2017,
(4) Video 173 on Exercise for Preventing a Heart Attack.

You are so welcome, my dear. The key is to eat REAL food rather than processed food, isn't it!
Menopause Taylor Yes. Real food is essential. No processed food anymore!
Thanks for the insight very helpful.
You are so very welcome, my dear.
Outstanding!
Thank you so much, my dear.
Your abs look great Dr Taylor, give me your favorite and exercise💥🤗
@@rosalindaparrish9897 Well, thank you so much for that. I really don't have a favorite exercise. And I made up all my own exercises to accommodate my severe arthritis.
In this education, I give you actual exercise videos sprinkled throughout, in the various units to which they are best suited.
That’s about 1.5 hours from me. I’ll be looking. Thanks!
You're welcome.
I'm in the process of creating an educational video specifically for fitness professionals.
great info, good job ladies
Thank you, Julie.
Menopause Taylor Thanks for answering back, you are such a sweet person, I'm also here for you, your friend, Julie
You can ask me anything. I'll always answer you (unless I get one of those "Failed to post" messages that prevents me from doing so. It's rare, but I never understand when that happens).
Dr. Taylor, where can one go to find a fitness specialist who specializes in menopause and andropause?
I know of no website or service for this. You just have to find someone locally who has chosen this area of specialization.
@@MenopauseTaylor , thank you
@@user-ds2tg6gc6x It's my pleasure.
Do you guys, both Barbie and the viewers, have channels you follow on UA-cam to exercise to?
I sometimes watch/move to the Fitness Marshall...really makes me laugh and I don't realise I'm exercising. (P.S. it's not at all slow or deliberate movements, but it is good fun).
I make up my own exercises. I go to the gym every day, use all the cardio machines (one each day), and then do some resistance training with either weights or bands. But I add a balance & core component to all my resistance training. That's where my creativity comes in. I finis it off with a few minutes of yoga.
I've never used an exercise video or UA-cam channel.
Hasfit. Awesome videos on UA-cam for all levels of fitness.
I don't know if I'm at menapouse yet but I would definately not eat fat during menapouse. Butter, cheese and milk during menapouse sounds like suicide.
Thank you Taylor
It's my pleasure, Teresa.

Why would anyone force themselves to eat breakfast if they are not hungry?
The better question is, "Why wouldn't you be hungry?" I mean, if you've gone for over 8 hours without eating, your body should need food. That's why "breakfast" is called "break the fast."
When you were a baby, you ate ever 2 or 3 hours.
8# is a gallon of milk. I tell my patients in home health that anything is a weight and we use whatever is available 😉
True!
Had a trainer when I. was 45 two yrs.
He was nice 20 yrs old
After to years injured my shoulder.
Got tendotis. little discouraged
thanks Jennifer
Your story is common. I'm going to make a special DVD just for fitness trainers and exercise instructors. It will be all about the special exercise needs of menopausal women. Mu goal is to educate the professionals who serve you so that they don't provide a disservice.
Dr Taylor I think it's a great idea about presenting to fitness trainers. I am now in meno and I am a trainer. Im just 53. But I too did research to help myself and other menopause women. Thank you for having this wonderful guest and for your videos!
Excellent
I'm so glad you enjoyed this.
Love your videos..and you look amazing!
What a nice compliment. Thank you, Michelle.
So intermittent fasting is not good for menopausal women?
Not at all! It increases your risk for Alzheimer's by leaps and bounds. None of the pushers of intermittent fasting knows anything whatsoever about menopause.
Does she have a website so we can contact her?
All her contact information is sin the description box.
@@MenopauseTaylor - missed that must be my computer!!! thank you
