The best rlcraft tactic is living underground, prefferably far underground so that bosses cant Wasilewski hurt you and you can make farms underground which helps too

Yeah...I haven't even bothered to go mining. I'd rather brave the battle towers with no gear, than ever go mining in those cursed caves. You see, flying mobs can spawn in air blocks. This means that, even if you light every solid surface, if the cave or ravine is too big, they can spawn in the middle of the air, where it's still considered dark enough to spawn. Even if you don't have that problem, a Banshee can spawn in a cobweb in a neighboring cave and attack you. Did I mention regular torches burn out over time? Caves are so bad in RLcraft in early game, that I'd suggest actually disabling them in the world settings, and mine all passages from scratch, so you have near complete control of what can and cannot spawn.
If you find a village they can spawn these blue guys with shields to protect them They are basically flying iron golems and if you put your home in a village they will defend you too They are blue elementals that attack any hostile mobs threatening villagers
