Great to see another video. Have been wondering what you have been up to.
Keep on keeping on!!
Thank you! Been really busy with work so now more content will be coming up!
Intresting with that power usage on that R330, I have a R320 that idles at 30-40 watts running opnsense.
Yeah it’s really nice! I have two SSDs for Pfsense ZFS and 32GB and the fiber 10Gb uplink card
Friggin awesome.
Very interesting as always. Looking forward to see this on the virtual level too! Also, big plus for the much better lighting compared to the past few years I have been following :) What is the average power usage of the whole rack if I may ask?
Thank you! Feedback is always appreciated and yeah better lighting and power usage is around 2,200-2,400 watts for everything
Glad to see you back at again bro 😎
Any chance of you doing a vsphere tour so we can see how you’ve configured NSX-T, BGP & vSAN ?
6:08 what "flavor" of TrueNAS are you planning to run (CORE/Enterprise/SCALE)?
And how are you configuring your Switches (manually via SSH, via a tool or via automation)?
Can't wait to see more of your setup, very interesting :)
It will be TrueNAS but with the new version I’ll try out Scale first! 😎
I do some manual configuration for my eBGP peers but interface configuration and all that I use ansible. But for NSX-T I use API/Postman and vRA
Can you do a video on setting up/overview of Horizon?
Hey Tommy, I recently bough the Soledad theme since I really liked yours a lot, when I tried to self host the wrdpress it wouldn't upload due to I guess the size of the file. But what do you use to editor yours, seems like everything wants a monthly subscriptions these days?
hey, great content. I'm getting into using a couple of servers and I have a dell r710 that want to install windows server 8 standard on, but dell no longer supports server 8 and I'm having a hard time trying to make an iso thumb drive. any suggestions or help would be grateful.
Hello, For ISO burning you can use rufus.ie - Rufus burns all ISOs to a USB flash drive. Also there is no Windows Server 8, did you mean 2008?
Why replace the 730xd units with 740xd? I also have a mix of 730xd and 740xd units, I don’t see much power and performance difference between the two…
Hi! If you want to have vSphere 8 and be at least on the newest hardware baseline you’ll need to upgrade there are some components left that are supported but not many left and there is a power efficiency difference my R730xds use 330+ watts where as I did tests I got 740s to be around 280-300 watts
This is the Lab I want to build slowly as I enter the industry. I am starting my own promox cluster with a trueness scale nas for the dual purpose of san for the cluster and a NAS for the rest of the network. Love your video, and keep up the great work, bro.
Thank you! And that be an awesome setup! I use TrueNAS Scale for tier 2 storage so I can offload slower performing VMs
