I think A&M could have possibly matched any offer, but Chris Del Conte was his AD at TCU as well if I remember correctly. Also, A&M may not have been committed to matching the Texas offer, or beating it because of how much money they spent to get rid of Ol' Jimbo. I think a good move for A&M at this point is to make their pitching coach (major contributor to how good they were this year) Max Weiner to head coach.
That's a good point regarding them not paying him a lot due to how the Jimbo situation went down. Max Weiner would have been a good choice to replace him but i believe he is following Schloss to Texas..
@@LucianoReacts yea, entire staff following him to Texas, and now 7 or 8 players from A&M have entered the portal. If the players go to Texas too, seems there would be a case for tampering.
Possibly.. i read that some A&M players think that Schloss was recruiting players to Texas before even taking the job. Which is just.. wild.
@@LucianoReacts yea the rumor on the A&M message boards is Schloss had a handshake deal in place with Texas AD around the time A&M played Georgia in April. Which April makes sense with the other report that came out saying that Texas had reached out to Tony Vitello to gauge his interest, and Tennessee was working on Vitello a new contract in the April time frame as well. So seems that Vitello's agent had already used the Texas interest to leverage a new contract conversation that they agreed to finalize at the end of this seasons. Some of it is rumors of course, but where there is smoke, there is generally fire. Feel bad for A&M fans man. They went from spectacular season with a bright future to rock bottom within 24 hours.
I dont have no personal beef with Texas fans (outside of the whole "we're the real UT" bs) but imo that was a very dirty move and i feel like they are failing to see why A&M fans are so heated, not necessarily the fact he lied (most coaches/players do that) but the timing and the way he handled it couldnt have been much worse, there's also tampering allegations that Schloss was trying to recruit players to Texas before being hired on, you know Texas A&M boosters are in deeeep talk right now with the higher ups lol i definitely feel for A&M fans though this is Lane Kiffen 2.0 (but worse).
Oh this is probably the worst coaching change i have ever seen. The fact that this is rumored to have been going on since the UGA-A&M series is wild. I have also heard that Schloss has been recruiting players to Texas already. With all that has happened in this situation, i can't think of anything worse. This tops Saban leaving LSU and Kiffin leaving Tennessee imo. I mean there has to be some kind of consequences for this... One thing is for sure though, the Texas-Texas A&M matchups are going to be even more heated when they play lol.
@LucianoReacts yeah and it's crazy because had A&M won a Natty their HC would have been gone before the parade etc (which is just bizarre) this is a horrible look for not only college baseball but college athletics in general, while I think Texas will be good under Schloss a part of me really hopes Texas lives in the bottom of the SEC for this because this was just dirty and it really adds to their "we have unlimited money and the best facilities we can get whatever we want" mentality, within 24 hours a Championship caliber team was completely tore down from top to bottom....insane bro absolutely insane but like you said it will certainly fuel the rivalry so ig theres that.

I’m upset, not that he left, but that he had been planning to leave since our series against UGA. He also didn’t tell the players, planned a fake recruiting weekend for this weekend before he left, and has lied countless times about what he feels. I don’t like liars, and he showed his true colours. Good riddance.

@@LucianoReacts That seems to be the case, according to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball. If he was recruiting players away from A&M at that time, it could be NCAA violations.
Surely it has to come with violations. That would be the worst tampering i have ever seen lol. If that is true and he gets away with that... oh boy
