People forget how good of a PF Amar'e was. Athletic, Skilled guy, with a nice mid-range touch, awesome to run P&R/ P&P 's with, yet still be a guy that can give you glimpses of instant offense if you feed the ball to him, after the original play didn't work. That's a big man, that will make any PG happy. Just ask Steve Nash.
nahh like fr. Stoudemire was and will still be the best PF in my eyes, he was a dunking monster like Griffin but with a nice mid- range shooting touch as you said, he was also a great passer.
I remember watching all the knicks games when he came to Ny. He was lamarcus Aldridge with more athleticism. It's a shame how injury takes some of our best players
Amare was lethal from 20 feet and in. Would be interesting to see if he would shoot 3s if he were playing in today's league, he definitely had a smooth stroke.
a few people know that year2011 the knicks were playing amazing bball before the trades and stat was considering MVP with D.rose and LbJ now let that sink in
Francisco Borbon hell yea the knicks were a good team with Felton gallinari Wilson chandler and stat I hated the Melo trade it gave up so many young pieces and made the team worst
Francisco Borbon real talk. Amare even made Felton look good. Melo messed it up and STAT's injuries made it worse for the next few years. Now look at where the Knicks are. Could've gotten further without Melo.
Francisco Borbon seriously. We could've just gotten him in Free agency and kept all these pieces. The what ifs man.... Also, I try to repress this but turiaf was our center... lol
Dude that is why I hate the Knicks front office so damn much. We could have got melo in the off season if they wanted him badly enough. We could have kept this entire team. Their biggest weakness has always been that they can't develop good young talent.
Francisco Borbon They became better in 2012 though and that was the best Knick team in recent memory. STAT'S injuries were an issue more than anything. It wasn't possible for him to be the superstar he was anymore.
I miss STAT before the injury and Blake who used to crash the boards a lot...game has became mad soft now that I think about it especially compared to the 80's and 90's
David Moreira you don't even know my age so...yeah I think you should hold back on the trigger before you leave yourself dumbfounded.. I'm much more knowledgeable than you'd probably ever be when it comes to basketball so ✌
jay Floozy how old then cuz if your an adult you should be comfortable saying your age unless your mom said u can't not talking shit I'm just a smart mouth
Omar Lee most the people commenting don't remember the pre-Melo Amare. They probably also never watched any of the Suns games from 07-10. Stat was a beast.
Thanks for uploading the highlights. I went to this game and by far it was the best nba game I went to. This was Blake Griffin's first time ever scoring over 40 points in an NBA official game and to top it off, those slam dunks making the fans all hyped up and clippers commentator Ralph Lawler drop his microphone🎤😂
Has anybody noticed that blake's athleticism has regressed significantly after his 2nd season ?Dont get me wrong the guy has improved all aspects of his game but you never see his head above the rim nowadays .
Dionysis Palermos he's also tired of injuries, he added all the new aspects so he doesn't have to rely on the flashy dunks bc those were the leading causes of his injuries, he's still an athletic freak, just an athletic freak with some new moves
Oh shit this is from 2010? lol I thought amare had just woken up and thought I'm gonna play like my old self even though I know he's not on knicks anymore
Amar'e is my favorite all time player. & when I saw Blake Griffin dunking everywhere I always told people that he was another Amar'e. he almost plays just like him. good thing is he hasn't had a big injury like Amar'e which is good
Melo was so dumb. he could of gone to NYK in Free Angency but he wanted to be traded there instead. straight up ruined the Knicks until 2020 when he decides to retire.
Blake is bigger and can get up higher, but Amare was so much quicker and powerful than Blake. Arguably 2 of the top 10 most explosive big men of all-time in my opinion
clutchmamba I agree with the listing but you can also consider Cousins seeing though this season he is playing PF a fair bit. I still see him as a centre but people do see him as a PF
RawJustice2 how was he a nobody 😴 he won the slam dunk contest, started in the all star game and won roty all in his rookie season, not to mention that everyone saw the crazy dunks he was doing
+ElishaRuff I think he meant Timofey Mozgov. Who has been a decent starting center on both ends of the floor these past two seasons. I mean Young Blake would still dunk on him for sure, but not as hard as this game from 6 years ago.
i wouldnt say he lost it, he's just developed a better all around game since when he got to the league. I think he said it himself after his rookie year that he didn't wanna rely on being athletic because by February of his rookie year, he was realy tired. therefore in a sense, stopped using his athleticism as much.
I remember at this time arguing with Blake doubters that he actually had game and was more than a dunker even at the time he put up like 22 10 as a rookie.
You know Griffin can really sky because often his head is at rim or higher level and he has a tendency to accidently hit his head on the backboard (due to his fearlessness and tenacity down deep , around the hoop defensively and offensively ) . Also, his arms are relatively short which also necessitates him to use his jumping ability more often .
Sorry, but STAT was not at his best in NY. He had two knee injuries while with the Suns. He was a Beast before the injuries. I saw him block LBJ dunk attempt. It was incredible. They were both above the rim!
Bro Blake Griffin was a sote to see if you didnt watch him play. He part of the reason 2k became the game it is. Obviously talkin some years back but still.
Amare was a BEAST before Melo comes to NY
This Amare was still an Amare that held back from dunking similar to Blake now. A dream match up would be #32 PHX Amare vs this Blake.
This was stoudmire before he was out of his prime back then he would poster you every time he got to the rim
NBA trynna be FreeDawkins sooo bad lol
BSOLZ fr 😂. Btw your "Is The Big Man Position Dead" video was great. Keep up the good work. You have a good future man.
BSOLZ there is no dawkins without NBA
Two of Blake's greatest dunks in the same game lol.
3 that follow up is insane too
People forget how good of a PF Amar'e was. Athletic, Skilled guy, with a nice mid-range touch, awesome to run P&R/ P&P 's with, yet still be a guy that can give you glimpses of instant offense if you feed the ball to him, after the original play didn't work.

Agree
Dunn Dallas D’Antoni burned him out with too many minutes
Amare was lethal from 20 feet and in. Would be interesting to see if he would shoot 3s if he were playing in today's league, he definitely had a smooth stroke.
@@drewdrewski4188 he would be insanely good if he was playing in todays league .. its like giannis with a jumper ...30-33 PPG
@@ivblizzard3616 stop it man
a few people know that year2011 the knicks were playing amazing bball before the trades and stat was considering MVP with D.rose and LbJ now let that sink in

STAT'S injuries were an issue more than anything. It wasn't possible for him to be the superstar he was anymore.
the legend of Blake was born this game
Quan Nham stat is blake before blake
Amarie was a DEADLY BEAST
stoudemire was disrespectful with it
I miss STAT before the injury and Blake who used to crash the boards a lot...game has became mad soft now that I think about it especially compared to the 80's and 90's
you didn't even watch the 80s and the 90s, you don't know what you're talking about
David Moreira you don't even know my age so...yeah I think you should hold back on the trigger before you leave yourself dumbfounded.. I'm much more knowledgeable than you'd probably ever be when it comes to basketball so ✌
judging by your photo, you're not even older than 25
jay Floozy how old then cuz if your an adult you should be comfortable saying your age unless your mom said u can't not talking shit I'm just a smart mouth
cuz its none of your bussines lol?
3:22 that's what Prince looked like when he dunked on Dave LMMFAOO "game bitches" blouses 😂😂😂
Some don't kno Amare was easily top 5 in the league at this time
Omar Lee at this time was probably early in the season where amare would be top 2 or 3
Omar Lee top 5 at his position maybe lmao
Halkaniin no
Omar Lee most the people commenting don't remember the pre-Melo Amare. They probably also never watched any of the Suns games from 07-10. Stat was a beast.
Seth Fjeldheim that's a big understatement
That commentator is a legend lol
bingo!
Oh me oh my
LA has a history of the best commentators.
people sleep on mare, when he was in phoenix and his knees were healthy he was INCREDIBLE
Blake Griffin has the plainest dunking face I have ever seen
Has anybody noticed that blake's athleticism has regressed significantly after his 2nd season ?Dont get me wrong the guy has improved all aspects of his game but you never see his head above the rim nowadays .
+Gerome Smith leave those to deandre now.
Dionysis Palermos he's also tired of injuries, he added all the new aspects so he doesn't have to rely on the flashy dunks bc those were the leading causes of his injuries, he's still an athletic freak, just an athletic freak with some new moves
@ 3:56 LMAO
Look at the referree! He didn't see that coming XD
Ball is LIfe Lmaoooo he flinch like wtf I felt that
I would do the same tbh
Gave him the shakes for a sec LOL
Amare was a human highlight reel.. on both sides
just when u think...wow blake is dominating....amare just comes n stuffs one in blakes face.... luv that back n forth monster dunks
If you can't beat Dawkins, You Become Dawkins.
For some reason I loved this Knicks team
Oh shit this is from 2010? lol I thought amare had just woken up and thought I'm gonna play like my old self even though I know he's not on knicks anymore
Omg I really thought this game was last night
//////////////////// FACTS :(
I wanna see that Blake Griffin again
Amar'e is my favorite all time player. & when I saw Blake Griffin dunking everywhere I always told people that he was another Amar'e. he almost plays just like him. good thing is he hasn't had a big injury like Amar'e which is good
Blake Griffin's injured now
Melo was so dumb. he could of gone to NYK in Free Angency but he wanted to be traded there instead. straight up ruined the Knicks until 2020 when he decides to retire.
Rayzajw Why are you blaming Melo for that? The Knicks are the one that didn't wait till the off season.
Dammit I thought this game was yesterday
This is the game that propelled Griffin's career to new heights.. It's like he became a full grown man :P
stat Knicks are better than melo knicks. also these jerseys look way better than the ones they wear now.
Aleki The Kid what about 2013? They made it to the second round that time.
Seijūrō Akashi That's what he meant. 2012-2013 Knicks, who won 54 games.
Iron Man Prime if he said 2012 then 2011-2012 season comes to mind . Did the Knicks win 54 in 2012 alone? No.
I still remembered that one year when Amar'e was with Phoenix, he dunked over the intire National Basket Association.
*National Basketball Association
Eddie Thomas True True lol
Blake griffin was a beast. Super strong.💪💪
amare is blake griffin before it was cool
Stoudemire and Nash in Suns,pff... i miss those guys and T-Mac,Yao,Big Ben, Duncan.. that was NBA
3:55 referee be like "SUCK IT" on wwe
Been there, seen that.
Disappointed Knick's Fan 😹
Blake is bigger and can get up higher, but Amare was so much quicker and powerful than Blake. Arguably 2 of the top 10 most explosive big men of all-time in my opinion
top 5 PFs in the League rn
5. Millsap
4. Draymond
3. Blake Griffin
2. Aldridge
1. AD
I'd have Griffin over Aldridge any day
Julian Vitug L
clutchmamba Blake over Aldridge
clutchmamba I agree with the listing but you can also consider Cousins seeing though this season he is playing PF a fair bit. I still see him as a centre but people do see him as a PF
clutchmamba who is AD?
Nba posting throwbacks, good stuff!
LMFAO wow, this was years ago, and looking back you'd never thought to realize he posterized Timothy Mosgov. He was a nobody back then.
RawJustice2 this was 6 yrs ago and he won roty
My thoughts exactly I know time flies
RawJustice2 how was he a nobody 😴 he won the slam dunk contest, started in the all star game and won roty all in his rookie season, not to mention that everyone saw the crazy dunks he was doing
+ElishaRuff I think he meant Timofey Mozgov. Who has been a decent starting center on both ends of the floor these past two seasons. I mean Young Blake would still dunk on him for sure, but not as hard as this game from 6 years ago.
Nobody? He was a top 15 player in his Rookie season lol that's more than just a nobody
People don't understand how truly nasty BG is, it's more than just dunks he can really do everything he can play the 3,4 and 5
i wouldnt say he lost it, he's just developed a better all around game since when he got to the league. I think he said it himself after his rookie year that he didn't wanna rely on being athletic because by February of his rookie year, he was realy tired. therefore in a sense, stopped using his athleticism as much.
3:01 subtle foreshadowing... you were warned Mozgov
Best highlights I've ever seen
Amare in his prime.
I think he was better in suns. Without those injuries
melo ruined this knicks team
Correction: James Dolan has been ruining it for years.
Ruined Nuggets, Knicks, Thunder, and now Rockets
@Brandon Martin amare got terrible inury since phoenix days. So sad
Yea. Injuries slow hil down. He was a beast in phoenix and new york
Building around Melo ruined the knicks
Two very impressive players in their prime. If you were in the audience, you were very lucky indeed !
When u realize this is a year before the Knicks would become an elite team with old vets
these clippers jerseys are so much nicer than what they have now...
I remember at this time arguing with Blake doubters that he actually had game and was more than a dunker even at the time he put up like 22 10 as a rookie.
THE WARRIORS BLEW A 3-1 LEAD
you guys are still not done with these comments?
Remember when Kobe and kwame brown combined for 82 points against the raptors. That was crazy ngl 👀
great upload
miss this griffin and those jerseys
wow, this video is so awesome
man! throwback to 6th grade when amare was my favorite player not Melo.
You know Griffin can really sky because often his head is at rim or higher level and he has a tendency to accidently hit his head on the backboard (due to his fearlessness and tenacity down deep , around the hoop defensively and offensively ) . Also, his arms are relatively short which also necessitates him to use his jumping ability more often .
when was that game ?
I'd like too see these two in their primes go at it yo
I like how Amar'e became a midrange maestro.
I miss these days
That was fantastic
Nba tryna put gd highlights outta business with these historic game highlights
Amare was my Favorite, couldn't stand him getting hurt in the knees
this was a vicious duel, like Lebron vs Paul George April '17, or the Hayward vs Giannis....
sigh.. i miss this Amare
Amare was so explosive he dunked on any and everybody
stat>bg
"he's an improved jump shooter, folks"
Like, maybe you could say that in 07, but Amar'e had been an elite mid range shooter for 3/4 years by then
who was better prime for prime? blake or amare i think amare
Blake Griffen was a beast back then
How many points did each of them have
y they uploading this lol
great battle uff !!!
amarie is my favorite power forward of all time
So crazyy!
Sorry, but STAT was not at his best in NY. He had two knee injuries while with the Suns. He was a Beast before the injuries. I saw him block LBJ dunk attempt. It was incredible. They were both above the rim!
Blake lost a good 6 inches on his vert... Tragic!
Blue Face Media what happened?
Vande Buurt He don't nearly as high as he was in this clip. FFAACCTTSS!!!
Blue Face Media how u know that?
Blue Face Media True his head was almost at the rim on that putback
To be fair, he did say that he didn't want to jump with as much effort anymore
I remember amare in his first year with NY.
ED good for u
This version of stoudamire was MVP candidate the first half of this season
this version was old amare
Always thought they were similar players since Blake entered the league.
This was 6 years ago??
Dominicandude34 yep
yeah
Both of them would destroy draymond green
this was a good knick team
Griffin should play on the Dunk Contest this year to bear Lavine
ArnoldJeremy Griffin aint ready for Lavine
FckEm_ WeBall Aaron Gordan would beat lavine all day.
OhNets 4life I like Aaron Gordon, I was talking bout Blake tho
Amar'e the body snatcher Stoudemire man ol man
Both players where injury diminished their careers
going to replay every dunk 5x
Shit man, that's ridiculous. I'm a Lakers fan and I completely forgot about "Blake Mozgoving Mozgov".
o boy how deep has Amare fell down!! Playing in the Chinese league averaging crappy numbers..
Back when everyone thought Blake was gonna reach elite level.
This knicks team was so strong when it was still stoudemires team. Mvp candidate. What happen to this guy men..
Prime Amare is a beast
Bro Blake Griffin was a sote to see if you didnt watch him play. He part of the reason 2k became the game it is. Obviously talkin some years back but still.
Yeah they were balling hard
Blake was the future. stat ain't bree the same that's sad.
back when landry fields was good and not retired.
Now Stat coaches Blake on Brooklyn
Man that wasn’t enough energy from the Knicks bench amare was booming shit
