The main threat would be high-speed turns if the center of mass is higher. Otherwise, so long that it's not so heavy it compromises the structure itself, and can still be lifted by the chain, it doesn't change much.
Actually, it won’t be a problem as long as the train don’t flip over on high speed turns due to center of gravity not so height. I heard there are roller coasters having trouble cleaning hills when empty, but totally fine when loaded.
@@AaronShenghao indeed, empty wagons would be more affected by air drag with the same frontal surface area (so the same energy loss at a given speed) but less mass, so less energy to dissipate.
The only way to make this more life-like is to start filming about 200 feet away and take one step forward towards the coaster every minute. After waiting for 3 hours and 20 minutes you finally get to the coaster. 😎

As a Lego nerd, that is one of the coolest designs I have aver seen and the amount of Legos used is insane! BTWA, the music sounds very similar to the one used in the video game "Scribblenauts Unlimited".
This reminds me of the Cyclone at Coney Island. When I rode it, I did not think an older wooden coaster could match the thrills of steel coasters with loops. I was wrong. A well-designed track that surprises and disorients the rider is an amazing experience.
Brilliant! Man, I’ve been obsessed with Legos since I was a young girl. Still am today, 30+ years in. There’s nothing better than putting a set together and watching your hard work come to life! Legos will live on for generations! You’re NEVER too old for Legos 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I'm impressed at how small video cameras are these days, small enough to put onboard a Lego roller coaster & have a video experience as if it were a real coaster.
Wow, I instantly recognized this as El Toro! It's my favorite wooden coaster (so far)! This is my first time seeing this lego coaster, but nonetheless, it's a very cool build and a very cool video.
@@leokunnen491 I'm sure it's a great coaster! I've heard a lot about it but have unfortunately never ridden it. Definitely on the list, though! I say El Toro is my favorite wooden coaster so far because I haven't been on every wooden coaster there is to ride (yet)!
This is not El Toro. El Toro makes a right turn after the initial air time hills. El Toro doesn't have a second lift hill. This model doesn't have the rolling thunder hills that cross over eachother. It's just a wooden coaster.
Adding to what Hyperion said, the description says that the coaster is based on El Toro, but as you have pointed out, it isn't an exact replica. My brain still went, "Hey! El Toro!" when I saw it, though. I'm sure there are plenty of wooden coasters that look similar to this build, or even to El Toro, but El Toro was the first to come to mind when I saw the video.
The reason it seems so fast from the minifig perspective is probably that gravity accelerates things by the same rate regardless of size. But since the perspective is smaller, that same acceleration seems much faster.
i almost immediately recognized this as el toro!! i’ve only riden it once and it was a really long time ago. i went to great adventure this past june and it was still closed at that time, but i’m going back this september, i can’t wait to ride again :) this build makes me super happy because roller coasters and lego are basically my two favorite things (aside from astronomy) and it’s just genuinely really awesome
The most interesting thing is how different physics work at this scale already. In our scale, these speeds would likely shake you as much as a car accident. Being smaller means much faster relative acceleration/speed. Interesting find.
still wondering how you bend those tracks for making those nice and smooth hills... Am i the only one? Edit: he used hot air didn't read the comments good enough
This reminds me to a real roller coaster i was on once .the name is colossus and is placed in the heide park in Germany. Its a wooden roller coaster wich is really amazing
So sollte eine vernünftige Holzachterbahn ja auch sein - schnell, hoch und tief, wild und ungestüm!!! Perfektes Modellvorbild für alle Bahnen in gross!!!👍👍👍
Also helps that it’s a scale model. It travels a few feet and it’s at the bottom of the hill; a few feet on the real coaster is still pretty much at the top.
If you want to ride this wooden coaster in real life, it’s very similar to The Beast in Vancouver, BC, Canada. One of the best originals left in the world. The exact design might be from El Toro though.
3 years really isnt long for good batteries to keep going and plastic can last much longer than you think, I cant think of any reason why it wouldnt be running now

fun fact the maximum velocity off the drops wouldn't be any different regardless of how heavy the cart is

That's sick, didn't knew Lego also had rollercoaster builds.
Lego needs to start making banked track pieces. This would allow for far more realistic track sections.
Still as amazing as the first time I had seen it, my friend :)
Must have used heat to bend the tracks in that way. Normal lego train track does not bend that way on its own.
