The 50s & 60s produced the best of the best in Country music,Faron Young, Ray Price, Webb Pierce,Marty Robbins, Carl Smith, Ferlin Husky, and a slew of others, such as Slim Whitman, Jim Reeves, & Eddy Arnold
BRILLIANT MUSICIANS...THAT STEEL AT THE BEGINNING IS SUPERB!! Faron Young indescribable country sanger extraordinaire!!!He is a brilliant singer,,,there are no bad songs that he sings....LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM!!!!
Got you beat by a few years, I've been listening for 68 years,LOved his voice back in 51 - 52 still do. Faron , Ray, Webb , Carl & Marty are my favorite's.
As great a recording as this is, I am surprised that I have never heard it before. It was written in 1968 by Gene Price (1944-2013), who died at age 69 from causes unknown to me. He was born in Shamrock, Texas, and played bass in Merle Haggard's band before becoming associated with fellow Texan Buck Owens and writing songs together, such as IN THE ARMS OF LOVE. He also recorded, one of his best being YOU WOULDN'T BE LEAVING TODAY.
Wow as big a fan I was of Faron; I still am, I do not recall hearing this great song! Thanks for sharing it Milton! I haven’t seen you on here much; I hope all is well with you! Going to check the other mentions also. Have a great day!
I'm so happy Tommy Honkytonk is back! Please upload mike smith booze I've been drinking, Darnell miller you're just another broken heart, Jack Simpson as long as time goes on and del reeves as far as I can see!
Just found Faron, a few months ago, am a bit younger than him, guess that is why, but I am so sad, he took his own life, omg, why so much talent? Makes no sense? Any answers to that?
Yes Faron was hiding a huge severe depression. Sadly ole Faron was living in deep sorrow all the time. Knowing he’s got both cancer and emphysema. He decided there was nothing else worth living for.
Faron Young is greatness! Nothing else needed to say.

Read his bio by Diane Dikeman. A great story with a very very sad ending. RIP Mr.Faron.
