Glad to have gotten to spend some time with you. The cabin was a neat find. Loved the view on top of the mountain. I always look forward to seeing new adventures. Thanks for sharing.
Cool finds you made this trip. We finally made it out West and had a little time to hike two miles to an abandoned magnesium mine only to find a fresh pile of mountain lion droppings in entrance, it appeared to be collapsed about 20’ in, but I wasn’t about to see if anyone was home. Great video keep them coming.
Those first two diggings looked so similar to each other! LOL at “another day of pits.” Very cool artifacts up there at the summit! That ax head and pickax were pretty cool. Good question about who or why someone would bring a sink to the top of a mountain.
It really took me by surprise to find it all. I suspect those items used to be scattered around the mountainside and over the years has been collected together. Really fun find.
We have a few cabins like that around here they are usually places you can stay during your winter hikes retired old miner cabins I highly doubt someone’s living. They are usually just left well-stocked like that.
Definitely an old mining camp on top of that mountain, it was definitely easier for them to live on site if possible in those kind of locations… probably mostly just small surface pits
@@Miner49er1 More like a hermit's hut me thinks. May have once been a miner's hut, but too well re-purposed, judging by materials used. Even yourself felt so, when you opened that door. Clearly, a private dwelling.
@@kevinbrennan2004 yeah, it definitely gave off a private dwelling vibe; one of the reasons I turned around as quickly as I did. I don't mind exploring abandoned places, but I don't trespass.
@@Miner49er1 Wasn't on my topos, which admittedly are pretty old, but appears to be on private or local land, some BLM nearby. Strange, no "No Trespassing" signs.
A nice relaxing video. At least 1 of those pits looked to me to be an effort to plug the shaft with timber, rocks & crap then cover with soil. Ive seen ones looking just like this that have over time started to sink inwards, I was glad to see you not step into them. You asked us to comment on rappelling down the 1 open shaft, I took this as a joke but either way would hate to see you in danger down there on your own, with others maybe. Love your content. cheers Daniel.
I think you are right about the plug. It’s kinda common practice to do that…which is why I try to avoid going into those, even if they look shallow. I appreciate your concern, and I agree with you. Thanks!
Well Nick the trail or lack of you still found a pile of artifacts behind you looked like an old jeep type trail ? Maybe behind you is the trail to the cabin. When you knocked on the door as you opened it then the look on your face was priceless finding a organized cabin was like turning a corner and seeing a Bear 🏆🤔p.s. I will go back to your talk about changing some of are habits .p.s. sounds like the talks I would give people at work .So enjoyed your adventure and the knock on the door that was priceless.❤️⛏️🤔 1 more thing the 1st shaft most likely goes with cabin or a mine behind cabin later
My thoughts on all the cool relics left behind? implements for hard rock mining and a way of life where there's little water large containers from rainwater catchment pickaxes and shovels obviously for mining porcelain sink probably had something to do with some type of precious metal refining bottle jack for breaking and moving boulders just ways of life for some Old Prospector to carry such items to the top of the mountain they had to be of some type of major importance to the individual ....cool finds, great video!
I have to agree with another post. There was likely a road, or at least a jeep trail to that cabin. Doubtful someone carried all that stuff and const materials on their back and the cabin looked too modern.
I thought so too, but off camera I scouted around quite a bit on the other sides of the cabin and only found a foot trail. The trail did eventually lead to a road, but it was just short of a mile away, through pretty rough country too. Strange, but I guess someone REALLY likes their isolation.
Yikes, that looks dangerous to rappel down, and you have no one with you, idk about this! 😵💫 More help needed, please apply! There is one thing you are giving your viewers, beautiful views in the back of you. Go back to the cabin and explore it, I'm curious.
I’m sorry you were disappointed. Thanks for checking it out though. Hopefully you can find something else interesting here. I have a playlist dedicated to old buildings you could look through if you want. It includes several abandoned cabins, a couple of which are very creepy.
I actually this would be about a creepy cabin, ya know, like in the title. Instead, we were tortured into watching a 40-minute selfie from some kid who won't stop talking long enough to show the scenery around him. TOTAL waste of time. Leave the exploring to those who know how to do it.
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the video. Try a few others, and if you still don't enjoy them, well, that's life. Thanks for giving it a try, though. :) By the way, thanks for calling me a "kid'! Makes me feel young again, ha!
Those pits are why you don't travel at night, unless it is life and death, if you fall in that, it's over.
No kidding! Even driving backroads, I've come across shafts that are right off the edge of the road. One bad turn, and it's game over man!

Thanks for your supportive comments, Steven. I really enjoy sharing these adventures with you!
It's not so much finding a mine but the adventure that counts!!!!!
Absolutely! Thanks!
That's a scrap metal collector's jackpot!
No kidding! So many cool artifacts. I didn't even dig around much. That was just the surface stuff!

Dang, yeah, we gotta be careful. Those Liebig cats don’t joke around. Glad you had a fun, and safe, adventure!

Interesting! I’ve asked around since then and no one seemed to know anything about it, even the old timers.
A for effort my friend. Cool finds and a great explore. You can't ask for more that that🤠.
Thanks, Kevin! This was a really fun exploration adventure. Glad you came along for the journey!
If you find a flashlight in that cabin, it's probably Frank's.
Hey, Stan! I was never at this particular cabin, so there shouldn’t be any of my flashlights laying around up there. LOL
Ha! You know it!
Definitely an old mining camp on top of that mountain, it was definitely easier for them to live on site if possible in those kind of locations… probably mostly just small surface pits
Yeah, I suspected the same. There are a few large mines in the area, I just didn’t see any near that particular spot. Lots of surface workings though.

You could use a drone to scout ahead, but I am assuming you are like me, you love the torture of hiking and exploring 😄
Yes, we have issues! ;)

Thanks for the comment, Case. Yeah, I wasn’t expecting the cabin to be so nice! Really creeped me out, man!

It’s Mine Art ! Cool 😎 you have to find something and put it there to build on it 😂
I totally do!
My guess is the junk pile is a Geo-cache site that has gotten a little out of control. People started bringing bigger and crazier things to it.
Could be. I hadn’t thought of that, but it makes sense.
Yeah that's it🙄
I used hiking when very hot day when I was younger with out taking a backpack
Me too, but then I got older, and water seemed to become more important. Ha, oh well. Youth.
A video about your hats would be nice also.
😮 WOW 😳
Go for it
imagine building a house in the absolute middle of nowhere on a mountain, and one day some guy just walks in 🤣
Ha, yeah, whoops!
Good way to get Blown away for sure 💥💥💥...Click Clack 💥....Castle Law

If you want to keep that ball cap under warranty, it looks like you need to change the oil in it.
🤣 Nice. I'll take that under advisement!
Climb down that shaft only with a good amount of rope
I do still have that axe.
Nice. I hoped you did, since I don't. :)
👍👍👍👊👊
Maybe those things are from that cabin.
Could be. It is possible that cabin has been renovated throughout the years.
I would like to see whats up with the deep pit , but not if you go alone please
Yeah, I'm hesitant at climbing down into these deep pits alone. I'd definitely want a crew with me!
