Your topic choices are always on point, covering aspects we didn't even realize we needed, and wonderful delivery every single video. Greatly appreciated!

Obrigada pela lição e pelo exame! Vou tentar fazê-lo... depois de lembrar a gramática.

Tks for your awesome impute, once again! I need to purchase a Portuguese textbook preferably grammar based through Amazon and will use your link, but first can you recommend a A2-B-2 resource? I already have GRAMATICA APLICADA which I learned a lot from but since the instructions are only in Portuguese it’s too hard for me to understand how to do the exercises because the instructions are not clear to me. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for considering purchasing through my Amazon store and I apologize for the delay in the response. I understand the benefit of having instructions in English but usually only the beginner books are all in English. The book Ora Viva is a beginners crash course with instructions in Portuguese. The Português em Foco collection is very good but it’s all in Portuguese. Sue Tyson ward has some books teaching Portuguese mostly in English, but she covers both European and Brazilian Portuguese. Hope this helps!!

Louva-a-deus (que temos no jardim). Os plurais das palavras compostas têm regras, mas não me lembro de quais são!
Muito obrigada por teres partilhado connosco o material do Ciple. Vai ser mesmo muito útil.

it´s interesting that a “bottle opener” is not an “abre-garrafa”. Perhaps the Portuguese love for vinho properly put the cápsula in its place. Obrigado!🍾

A “abre-cápsulas” is to open a bottle of beer, for example. To open a bottle of wine with a cork topper we use a “saca-rolhas”. I forgot to add that one to the video 😊

The interesting thing is the translation of 'corkscrew' from English, which is usually 'corkpuller' in other languages. When you're opening a bottle of wine, you're only interested in getting the cork out, not the method used in getting it out. Funny that English focuses on the method (screwing the cork), rather than the intended outcome (removing it, or pulling it out). 😀😁
