I know this may sound weird but this is my 3-year-old son's favorite video, he loves everything about it, and in every sitting late night as he's falling asleep and we're watching it on TV he asks me to rewind to the start to hear the intro again 🥹 He LOVES trains, and loves this video. Thank you for making this and all the best.

LOL @3:01 the train in the back " grandpa in sleepy" steam train: boy get back there and let this old timer flex his joints let me show ya how its done"
That black smoke looks very healthy 😂 I can’t imagine what city air quality was like during the Industrial Revolution era, I bet there hundreds of trains like these spewing out smoke. But either way, I love it!!
That’s a good question! I really dig the intensity of 765’s whistle. But there’s also no denying the Big Boy’s amazing voice. I could listen to any of them, all day long!
Stored indoors at the CP shops in Calgary. Briefly fired up for a holiday train film project in late 2020, however Canadian regs are different so it can’t currently operate in the US. Doesn’t sound like there’s anything long term for it planned.
Dvořak´s family said a story. Queen of England asked What does Dvořak like? They said: Pigeons. She sent him pair of pigeons. Dvořak was laughing and said. Imagine what would happen if we would say that I like Locomotives. He even knew each conductor of each station of the train.
there are some countries that still use steam locomotives for work and transportation, but steam locomotives are mostly just used for specific events in most countries.
big boy and any other majority of mainline excursion steam locomotive in general doesnt have a modern day train signalling and protection system to begin with, thats why a diesel is needed
Steam locomotives were so ahead of their time. It’s amazing
These steam whistles are like music to my ears.
Amen, brother.

What is the name of the steam locomotive at 1:38?
Iowa Interstate No. 6988, a Chinese QJ class locomotive
Being a Chicago boy, I should know where these places are lol ( IRM aside lol😅)
Home come UP 1404 has a GE locomotive in the line up?
the diesel electrics are used as a electrical source for all the passenger cars, they also provide dynamic braking for the entire train.
@@StrikeEagleCinema appreciate the info. I figured UP 1404 would have more then enough power so was surprised to see the GE.
@@StrikeEagleCinema they dont supply any electricity because its a FREIGHT TRAFFIC LOCOMOTIVE
big boy and any other majority of mainline excursion steam locomotive in general doesnt have a modern day train signalling and protection system to begin with, thats why a diesel is needed
I thought the title said steam trains.
When were (what year) these videos shot? I was told locomotives were phased out in 2000.
2018-2020 as stated in the description
Most steam locomotives were out of use by 1960, pretty much completely gone by 1965.
Second clip was a Diesel locomotive tho--
There was a steam loco behind it
110mph
