    Legends are more this year but almost all sale this year weren’t as good as last year. Sales are up and they released less stock because sales were down. The stuff from last year was massive overstock.

      Yes, the stuff we saw last year was definitely from overstock and from liquidation of the multiple Target and Walmart stores that were shutdown. We have had some good items hit the shelves but not like last year. However, Ross charging 12.99 for Marvel Legends figures that were 5.99 last year is wild. They will be stuck with all those unwanted figures like MCU Bruce Banner and MJ.

      @ yeah. They’re actually smart with it this year. That Bruce will hit clearance. The Transformers last year were that small scorpion guy, wasp guy and a couple others they started at 8.99 and sat and right after Christmas they dropped them to $3.99. I think the Ironmans are selling but Bruce, MJ and maybe Whiplash will hit Ross clearance.

    I think it’s all the UA-cam toy hunters posting their finds, the word gets out that adult collectors are purchasing these so they raise the price.
    But Ross also needs to remember that if they keep raising the price fewer people will purchase. Leaving them with a shelve full of product.
    That’s just my take though

      @Sight_on_Christ i think you're right, because that Infinity Saga Bruce Banner is over priced for a discount stores find. I didn't want him at full price in Walmart or Target. I didn't want him when he was on clearance for 10 bucks. I certainly will not pay 13 bucks for him. So yea I agree because Ross will be stuck with all those MJ and Bruce Banner figures.

    I forgot to talk about how the Marvel Legends figures have increased the most out of all the toys. The Marvel Legends figures were once $5.99 and now they are 12.99

    Yeah its wild. They doubled the price on pretty much all the figures. Still a great deal tho

      @BenzoFigures yea it's still cheaper than full price but they definitely increasing the price based on what collectors are buying

    Seeing the Super7 Ultimates stuff at Ross was a surprise this year. I happily scooped up a Grimlock and two MMPR Putties for $19.99 each. ReAction Sharkticons for $6, sure, that’s what a ReAction is worth to me. The only ML I saw was a Bruce Banner and he didn’t last a week. I wasn’t seeing the massive stocks of MJs some videos showed. I passed on the BST AXN zombie turtles I saw, but in retrospect, I wish I had grabbed them for a classroom display.
    It definitely wasn’t as good as last year, but there were still some things to pick up if you had even a passing interest in things.

    Legends definitely. I'm not sure about Mcfarlane yet, but tings are hitting Ross faster than the past. I would've never imagined that retro card Iron Man wave being at Ross this quick.

    Oh, they ARE paying attention. They know what products sell more, whether it's toys or anything else. They need to know what they want to reoder.
    The question is whether Hasbro is selling them at a higher price to them, or maybe in less quantities, both of witch would explain these increases... or if they have decided to see what happens if they simply raise prices.
    If it's the late answer, then they are playing a dangerous game for two reasons:
    1) Hasbro will get a wind of their higher margins, and may decide to sell them more expensive, thus locking higher prices for a while or forever (depending on how it goes).
    2) Collectors may not like these higher prices and leave those figures in the shelves.
    For example I myself buy figures at Ross simply because completing collections can be fun.
    However, I won't do it if figures I don't care about are priced even at half their value, as I can totally move on without them.
    This happened to me a few days ago with Morgan Elsbeth, from the Star Wars Black Series.
    I even had to check her name before writting this. And I may have bought it for 5 or 6 bucks. But it was a hard pass because she was $10 ($9.99).

      @MyNameGoesRightHere Maaaaaaan you got straight to the point. If Ross is simply increasing the price to see if collectors will still buy, then they are playing a dangerous game. At some point collectors will leave lesser desired figures on the shelf causing Ross to have an overstock of items. So we shall see what Ross does and collectors will react as needed as we have always done.

    Resellers ruin everything in every market

    • @Figures_of_Action_Reviews
      @Figures_of_Action_Reviews  21 день тому

      @crimsonguard2268 Not all resellers are bad. Some resellers actually provide a necessary service. Imagine not being able to get an item no longer in production. Greedy resellers ruin the market. Also, companies aren't innocent either. Especially when they hike up the price of reproduced items because they know it's popular. I just bought 3 Marvel Legends figures from eBay from sellers that had them at more than fair prices. Of course I saw some of those figures at outrageous prices but I bought from resellers that offered fair pricing.

  • @bluepuma12
    @bluepuma12 Місяць тому +5

    Ross should limit the purchase of figures. Resellers deserve this outcome.

    • @Figures_of_Action_Reviews
      @Figures_of_Action_Reviews  Місяць тому +1

      @bluepuma12 On certain items, i think that would be fair, especially around the holidays. Because there are some parents that appreciate the savings Ross provides. Now, any other time of the year, it's first come, first served. Believe it or not, but home decor is a big seller at Ross, and people buy all the sets out. So should they limit the amount of every item in the store?
      I've been on toy hunts for a long time and while I know how frustrating it can be to miss out because someone bought all of the hot finds, I also know the joy of finding the hot items and being able to get one. That's just the thrill of the hunt. You win some, and you lose some.

    Resellers and dumb collectors destroyed the hobby.
    Greed and stupidity go hand in hand.
    I REFUSE to pay what the "market value"
    I'll buy retail ON SALE or occasionally pay a premium (if the seller isn't a scumbag).
    Unbelievable how out of hand all of this has gotten 😊

    • @Figures_of_Action_Reviews
      @Figures_of_Action_Reviews  Місяць тому

      @nicholassullivan1239 it's not as bad as it could be but it's definitely looking like discount retail stores are trying to get more out of collectors. What other reason would Ross have to take a figure that was 5.99 and then start charging 12.99? Well too bad that haven't figured out collectors won't pay 12.99 for every figure just because it's a Marvel Legends figure. Greedy resellers ruin the hobby too. I resell stuff but I mainly get my stuff from Walmart and Target clearance. Every now and then I'll grab some things from Ross and Ollies. However I don't take everything because I can't sell everything either. There has to be balance get some leave some.

    I found a Plo Koon the other day and paid $13.00. The Morgan Elsbeth figure from Ahsoka was $10, but I didn't buy it. I think the price increase is due to the Product lines that sell well, not the character itself.

      @tyronebee7209 man I was on the fence about collecting Star Wars figures but that price increase influenced me to wait. I want to collect the figures but the Star Wars team still using the old arm joints and won't make them double jointed.

    • @tyronebee7209
      @tyronebee7209 Місяць тому +2

      @Figures_of_Action_Reviews You are right. Only certain ones do have the double-jointed elbows. I'm not sure if Plo has them. Luckily for me I don't buy every Star Wars figure out there.. I only target the ones from the original trilogies. Disney ruined the franchise.

    You ask critical questions sir, but I do not believe the jig is up quite yet. For instance, Ollies figs didn't always used to be 9.99. I built the entirety of my early Black Series collection via Ollies for 5.99 until eventually management got wind and raised the price to 9.99 a fig pretty much across the board. Now I have no idea where Ross's get's their wares but it seems to be from different streams, and I was pretty surprised to see She Hulk and the like showing up there. I'm guessing picking a shipment of She Hulks and even MJ's was a bit more expensive than getting Kingo's and Akiko's, thus the price dif. The McFarlanes that show up are still cheap as dirt. Now if MOTU's return and they cost more than 3.99, then yep... the jig is up brother! That would be my line of demarcation.

    • @Figures_of_Action_Reviews
      @Figures_of_Action_Reviews  Місяць тому

      @thediscountactionfiguredude 🤣🤣🤣 I snatch every MOTU figures I need when I see them. For $3.99 you just can't beat that price. If they go up in price i will be hurt. I guess I have to show my updated collection at some point. I wasn't shocked to see the retro card She Hulk wave because we got that retro card Xmen wave from Ross too. I was more surprised at the sticker price. Now I will say since those figures just came out a few months ago may be they got them from a recent overstock or liquidation from another store and the price was more than what they usually spend.
