The plastic bag choke - 'Renzo Gracie's Guide to Submissions' course at RGOA

The more guard players develop attacks starting from the half-guard, the more passers work on ways to block and counter-attack. It was from this logic that Renzo Gracie developed the choke dubbed the plastic bag. Note that he initially uses a simple movement to neutralize the guard player's right arm, leaving his neck vulnerable.

Quanto mais os guardeiros desenvolvem ataques a partir da meia-guarda, mais os passadores incrementam formas de bloquear essas investidas e refinam os contra-ataques. Foi a partir dessa lógica que Renzo Gracie desenvolveu o estrangulamento apelidado de “sacola de plástico”. Repare como inicialmente Renzo usa um movimento simples para neutralizar o braço direito do guardeiro, o que deixa o pescoço vulnerável ao encaixe da finalização.

I saw another video where you explained this choke a few years ago and I’ve been using it ever since whenever I’m in Side Control and the opponent turns towards me - brilliant move - Ezekiel was the first choke that started working for me so your Plastic Bag is one of my top moves now - thank you 🙏 - Ossssss
