We don't do any for the E-series unfortunately
@@DarksideDevelopments do you know of anywhere that does? Unless it’s M57 no one does anything for the n57😐
Not too sure, don't think the air boxes have caused enough of a restriction to need them. But it may be something we look into if enough people want them
@@DarksideDevelopmentscould you make one or is there a company you know of that can make one
Are all the changes you did to this car compliant with passing an MOT? What sort of ball park are you talking for a similar job on a 125D?
Best to email us, any form of modification should be an MOT fail
11:55 xD i almost choked on my lunch
hi i take it the dpf has been removed if so whats the smoke like ? bad or only a little amount
No smoke!
Is the transmission okay with this power? I’m considering doing this with my f01 730d n57 in perfect condition but has 250,000 miles on it so not sure if it will be okay to up the power that much
It required a gearbox tune to make sure it was getting the power down smoothly but it handled it well. Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk if you need any advice on them
Hi. I’ve got the same car as this how much would this cost from start to finish mate cheers dean

Be interesting to see stats on this car 0-60, 1/4 and a 1/2. Probably wouldn't be far off the stock M cars.
It will beat stock m cara to 60. In 1/4 mile it will run behind but still be very healthy
yes yes yes darkside do u guys have the graphic for the intercooler graphic and can i buy it or make my own
You have to buy our cooler!
What is the maximum duration are you running on these engines? 30 degrees? More?
28 is stock iirc
I have a manual... reading clutch specs and engine power left me only with the sachs zf engineering clutch with the sintered plate. However this sucks to drive... What to you guys think about this engine, the power output and what clutch to use because clearly now i want to downgrade the clutch but still upgrade the engine.... I'm screwed !!
Please email our sales / technical team - sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk and they will hopefully be able to help you :)
Thanks for the vid looking to upgrade to a BMW , been looking at 335d or 340d, but now i have seen this vid ,what would be a good family and sleeper got 20 to 23 bags + a kidney bean , that's buy car and come to you for your mod list, if I go a 330d would that be doable ? had to ask, any info would be good. thank PJ
How about a 430d - ua-cam.com/video/7KpZtXUQXqk/v-deo.html
400bhp should be achievable with that budget on any of the vehicles you are looking at.
What boost you are running ? What rail pressure ? How much fuel mg ?
2.3 bar and lots!
For this turbine 2.3 bar is nothing, it will run and run :)
Rail pressure?
Was this all with stock HPFP, rail pressure sensor and injectors? Impressive numbers!
Yes, full specs here - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/bmw-e91-330d-n57-3-0-24v-cr-ga6hp-26z-6-speed-automatic-424-4bhp-660ft-lbs/
Is that 6 speed zf box still in working order had a few there not as good as the 8 speed zf
They are older but still good!
So if I go this route instead of the 335d xdrive, leave the traction control ON. With this power and I’ll be safe as safe can be not going too OTT. Cheers
You can get 30d X-drive.
@@DarksideDevelopments is this power achievable on the 330d xdrive. With these bolt ons in this video?. I don’t know if it’s same engine as it’s a bit newer. Like you discribed in the video different injectors ect, I’m not in the know technically but I’m ready too buy the right car. Thanks for any feedback again.
Isnt there an issue with taking the egr cooler off the n57 resulting in frying the head????
This is certainly a myth!
Not being picky here as i love your channel...but surely there should wing guards to protect the paint when youre working on it ?
To protect the wings from the technician's tummy? I'm sure it's fine.

When does that system start to spool? Your graph starts at 2.000rpm. Not that I'm planning to get one but just out of curiosity. I just love good torque from down low that doesn't rub out of revs upwards. A good punch of torque but not uncontrolled.
Love the Mk3 Mondeo 2.2TDCi. Unluckily they have a big issue with the injectors. But the power band is a dream. I like PD engines too but the torque just comes too aggressive and they run out of rpm so quickly
Boost starts at super low RPM but below 2k it's a bit slower
@@DarksideDevelopments hey thanks for the reply. If you'd hold it below 2000Rpm and hit the throttle. Will it eventually spool or is that just too low? Like going down the motorway in 6th gear
What colour is this BMW 330d please?
It could be Space Grey? Not 100% sure though
that automatic gearbox hold that power ? or you switch to an hp28 from 335d ?
Yeah, held it well after a gearbox tune
@@DarksideDevelopmentshapply i just ended up buying an 2014 530d f10, 8hp 258hp n57 single turbo, and i was wondering , if this build will work on mine 5’series as fine , im looking for the next year on an 400hp project, safely, after doing my timing chain (214k on odo , allready), what i should look for? , egr/egr cooler/dpf/swirl flaps delets, turbo and intercooler upgrade?
Videos like this make me want to consider a 330D touring 😍 p.s. would you guys ever consider touching Merc diesels? I know the OM651 has a lot of potential but no one's really explored them, and the country is littered with them in all sorts of applications
Can't do the mercs!

So how much would fuel economy be affected with normal driving? Let’s say it usually does 45mpg on a 20 mile drive, mostly 60mpg single carriageway, would the mpg be similar?
Usually very similar
Any long lasting issues with that torque in the 700nm rated zf gearbox? Would love to hear from the company as i cant trust anyone and everyone online, cheers
They are super strong!
@@DarksideDevelopments im gonna take that with everything in my soul telling me to go 'MOREEEE' hahaha
Is there a big difference in proformance going from m57 to n57 with this turbo?
Could explain the differences?
Injectors are much better on N57
Top job I would be more than happy with that 👍🏻
I would love to see an in depth video of the Powergate.
Its coming!
What was rear wheel power/torque? It’s odd that you UK guys try and convert it to fly because it’s an educated guess at best I would’ve thought?
It always works out fine. When you buy a car it's rated at the flywheel
Love your videos, was a JLR technician myself, i learn a lot from you coz you go deep into details and R and D, At 16mins25 you mentioned timing chain… N47 known issue, iam planning to buy an N57 e91LCi similar to that one, would you recommend a chain replacement+ that double sprocket gear at 150k miles? Sorry for my English iam a frog trying my best.
N57 is OK ;)
Hi! 👋 Stock exhaust except downpipe???
Think so!
What's the difference between the 330D and 335D XDrive? Apologies but I'm a nube to 'the darkside' am a petrol head but seriously considering paying the emperor a visit up north 😁👍 these make insane performance and luxury with great mpg
330d is a more robust set up with a single turbo, which we can upgrade more than the 335d which has twin turbo's
@@DarksideDevelopments are you currently in development working on larger more efficient twin turbo setup for the 335D? And at what kinds of power bhp would you consider removing the dpf on a 330D when fitting the larger single turbo due to excess back pressure and temps? Is it around 400bhp or can the 330D make over 400bhp and still retain the dpf because I don't want to get rid of the dpf due to emissions testing at MOT and and can't find any friendly testers locally.
@@TheCinderellaman10 Yes we have a hybrid unit to test however there will be other limitations with this installed, Fuel system and intake system.
DPF Removal is not recommended.
Do m57 come with swirl flaps too? So egr delete is a must too..
Yes
@Darkside Developments thanks for replying! Love your knowledge on these diesels.. however I'd like to hassle you one last time, I have the 325d 2009 highline. I believe it's the m57 automatic. Nobody can confirm what size of swirl flap blanking plates I require. Could you possibly shine some light on this please 🙏
Thanks in advance

Would the E93 be ok with this kind of power? Apparently the roof mech cant handle too much torque?
Where are you getting your info from? Do it and find out and don't forget to video it just incase
@@DarksideDevelopments heard it from someone in BMW apparently thats why they never made the E93 as a 335D. Again, not sure but I am keen to try
Why not an N57 pumped up ,,slightly " in your R6 project? Probably lighter than the V8 or is it too long? I mean the V8 diesel adds quiet a bit of weight.
Nah, gotta be a v8. Sure the n57 is great, but its not really what you want in a 'supercar'
Straight 6 too long!
@@DarksideDevelopments ok. Thanks for the response.
@@hello7533 I understand that but you also don't want to spoil the car by adding too much weight.
They seem to suffer main bearing failures, any way to prevent this happening.

is the m57 better than m57 or what do u recommend ?
Probably say N57 is better, we've had some strong examples come through our workshop and they've done good power (like the one in this video) both are good engine though
