    Waydoo Subnado is an ultra-compact yet extremely robust underwater scooter that has a smooth, powerful propulsion system and user-friendly design. This innovative underwater system bridges the gap between expensive and difficult to control models and ineffective entry-level models. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, with Subnado, you can explore underwater like never before.

    More of an add than a review with zero negatives. Every product has pros and cons where all the pros are advertised left and right by the product marketing team. What I was hoping to get out of this review was all the cons, then decide for myself whether these are acceptable cons or not. But the features breakdown was useful so thanks for that.

    Looks nice, but I think it does not have enough power.
    How is the noise level when underwater?

      Not noisy , same sound like other underwater scooters. Power is good for its purpose, it’s not a jetboard after all :)

    Make sure you order the correct version. Ordered one from Amazon the day before we got on a flight to Tahiti. Upon unboxing it, we learned it ONLY came with the main unit and not a single place on the island sells any type of control unit for it. Super disappointing as im currently there and it's useless 😅

    I dive in some strong currents and have wished for something like this. How well does one unit do battling against strong currents?
    Is there a way to try before I buy?

      I tested mine against a current with myself and my jetsurf, and it barely overcame the current, but current is a relative term, depends on the force of the current. Going against no current, it moved me and my jetsurf probably 1-2mph. If it was just me and no jetsurf I think it would probably move me ok against current.

      @@christianfallesen9784 This is the big question. I tested mine in the pool today on high power (level 2 of 3 levels, it only stays at level 3 for 1 minute), and it lasted 14.5 minutes. But it was charged to 7/8 lights, maybe not fully charged, but surely close. Then it ran a bit longer on level 1.

    Can you compare with it scubajet? Speed and runtime? It looks incredibly slow.

    • @JetSurfingNation
      @JetSurfingNation  2 роки тому

      if you are like me used to fast speeds of jetboards, of course this will be very slow... This is just a SUP propulsion unit, it won't give any high speeds.. Subnado says "Subnado offers three gears with different thrust outputs: 3kg, 5kg, and 6.5kg, with a maximum cruising speed of 1.4m/s. When using 2 Subnados, the maximum speed reaches 2m/s. " That seems honest and it's not very fast but it's enough speed for slow enjoyable cruising on a big inflatable SUP.
      Scubajet is similar but bigger and heavier, it has too much unnecessary tech like screens, remote controls etc which makes it too expensive for what it does. Subnado went for bare minimum on what's needed and it's much more affordable..
      Subnado says run time up to 56 mins, probably on slow settings. Scubajet had similar runtime on slow settings. If you put max speed it is just 10-15 mins. Scubajet promises same speeds - up to
      1.5 m/s on their website

    • @influxed
      @influxed 2 роки тому +1

      @@JetSurfingNation I have a scubajet. I'm curious to see how it compares. Does it have a lanyard in case of dropping it in open water? Watching your video on the scubajet is what sold me on the scubajet in the first place. Thanks for the videos!

    • @JetSurfingNation
      @JetSurfingNation  2 роки тому

      Good to hear that 👍👍 Subando does not have a lanyard, but you attach it differently to the arms, you don't need to hold it, it's attached around arms.

    I love the idea, but I'd struggle to find a substantive application for such a device. I mean, it doesn't exactly match the experience of a jetboard style device, or wayboard. One hour is not bad travel time. But isn't a snorkel and flippers, and eating a hamburger giving you the same energy and experience, plus exercise?
    This leads me to think this is for fat, unhealthy people who want to impress friends because they need validation. Strikes me as a 'pump and dump' life experience for fat people.
    So, what could make this useful? Well, several things I'm thinking:
    a. Weight 'in water' is probably less of a concern, so maybe more battery capacity.
    b. Built-in intelligence so that it can be remotely navigated, much like a "sub" drone.
    c. An attachment for a camera so a user might actually survey their boat for damage , or a reef they want to navigate through. i.e. A sonar system will only get them so far.
    d. Communication with cell phone. Hmmm? up to a 1km away. Not sure how to make that happen, but it might be good if it could be used to navigate a marine drone.
    e. Is it perhaps a device that might be used to explore limestone caves remotely, maybe with 'a line' with booster communication nodes along the way.
