The guy executed the job that was supposed to be for the MC with calm precision and efficiency. He defeated all the rivals and main enemies of the MC. Truly the avatar of a wisdom king he is.
I like that Kuroki is the strongest character in the anime, but it doesn't feel like he's a villain or a negative character, but quite the opposite! Cool!🤘🏻
Kuroki was truly the smartest out of the wole tournament, he mostly used his Devil's Spear in the previous rounds that way he mantained hidden the most of his cards while drawing fear and attention to his Spear. He knew that a tournament is a big picture and not only a bunch of fights one after another
Exactly he maintained keeping his arsenal hidden and using the basics while just using one technique ( the devil lance ) really it's all he needed till the serious battles.
Like what Guts explained to Isidro in Berserk when sparring with him. Don't worry so much about "special secret" moves when the very basics of combat are what you'll be using 90% of the time. Kuroki Gensai is the prime example of a man who has mastered these "basics" to an ungodly degree and it was more than enough for him to win the tournament. A tournament filled with geniuses, monsters, Kings and Demons.
Guy had one look at the initial roster and thought he applied for the circus. The first guy only had cutting fingers but no skill. He then proceeded to tear through everyone’s plot armour.
Despite kengan having lots of exaggerated attacks. What I like about kuroki is that his moves are pretty basic (besides the devil lance and bone bonding) and they work against all his opponents. Since the man has been training his craft for so long he is incredibly strong and experienced applying those basic moves to anything. A good example is when he was fighting setsuna and the psycho kept attacking from different angles with all sorts of crazy attack names and kuroki is just BLOCK, PARRY, BLOCK, PARRY. Lesson to be learned here is that anything you wanna be good at, whereas be working out, instrument, sport, language etc. you always must master the basics.
The Devil Lance is just a Nukite (spearhand) from Karate. The only difference is he can pierce hard points with it where in reality you'd use it for soft points like the throat and eyes. Bruce Lee advocated for a Nukite to the eye as a counterattack in striking, which you can actually see used against eyes a lot in the UFC by rule-breaking fighters, especially Jon Jones.
I would put cosmo vs akoya up there as well. Kengan fights have lots of brutality but out of all of them, that fight had the most disturbing vibe to it because of how sick akoya was torturing cosmo like that but the kid managed to win. His willpower is one of the biggest in the series
The moment I first saw this Lion hit stage, he was my favorite! Didn't even know he had plotarmor busting moves yet, I just thought his design was so fukking kool!
The fight was insane but i really like Agito scene where he talks with Metsudo. It made me realise how humble is Agito Kanoh and made me love him as a character.
