WTH is happening lol amazing tutorial. Do you have a Walrus Audio Slo or Specular Tempus? What do you find most inspiring and useful in a band setting? @$200, I'm wondering if I should just go for a Tempus for $150 more and have presets.
Haha I was wondering WTH was happening too! I had a walrus Slö before I put the house band together last January. I can tell you one thing I liked about Slö and the few things I didn’t BUT see this through the frame of the music and things I do it may be complete different for others as I see a lot of them on peoples boards still. I liked dream the most as it gets the CLOSEST to my big sky cloud setting I have ever heard and I’m a reverb pedal addict haha but in a smaller pedal box. The few things I didn’t like is the dark though sounded great in a room when recording the lower octave was pretty muddy when recording and I’ve heard other people echo my experience with that. Rise though great as an autoswell function I didn’t think it’s latch was quick enough to cut off my attack fast enough. Lastly I have not used a Tempus so I couldn’t give you my experience in any form but I def recommend watching demos and think of your sound and if you feel it’s the right choice for you. I think in a room Slö sounds great but a lot of what I do currently is recording, so if you are playing live and you want a few modes like dark and dream it will be a good choice in that setting. Hopefully I helped you with my thoughts but again make your choice based on your gut / your music sound. Everyone’s opinion is subjective.
@@PedalPlayhouse so you think the sunlight is more usable for recording? what about the extra features? do you like the slo sustain, or the lighthouse hold note? I play live and record. Currently using HX stomp for amp sims with IR, reverbs on there are fine, sound best when combined with other fx in the unit, like a harmonic tremolo with big sky copy reverb. These little pedals are interesting because it's easier to dial in for live situations, but also have their unique bells and whistles that a unit like HX stomp or Helix doesn't have. like sustain mode, or holding a note like the sunlight, or being able to use the Ramper with it. Thanks for your input!
@@tomzeto I don’t think you can compare a sunlight to a Slö or other pedals at all they are all unique and yes I do love reverbs that have texture of modulations and pitch shifts to them. I have sunlight first in chain behind distortion presently. I can control how much it holds and latches on to through input. So it has a lot of use in a small pedal. For a Helix I think that’s a live band staple sounds workhorse honestly but the smaller pedals are more for those unique sounds as you said yourself you won’t have in the stomp. Each has their strong points with application you use them for. They both can be used in a variety of settings, I always believe how you explore sound will evolve and you never know what a weird pedal sometimes will have you change the way you play or explore music is ways you didn’t understand before. So all pedal experiences and reasons are valid exploration. It comes down to what you’re going for in the end, do you want tape warble or to play in a way that suddenly freezes a chord or note in a section of a song then get out of it when the part sends to add more depth? Or do you want to use it as a modal key practicing effect? So many reasons for collecting pedals lol
@@PedalPlayhouse Thanks for your input. Totally agree, I have an earthquaker devices data corrupter that is like an untamable beast that changes how you play, stumbling on new sonic discoveries or even what instrument you use! lol I in the end I guess to answer my own question, just get them all lol
Thank you I appreciate the advice, I also thought that too but I wanted you to see it moving on the pedal completely as if in the same room and that switching back and forth b so much might be jarring with the amount of it there was. I was too ambitious in choosing a pedal that had a LOT going on to explain. My next one I’m working on this week is a one knob vibrato def not a long video thank god. That’s not sustainable at that length! Thanks for watching Bernard!

wow this is different
Thank you, Appreciate your taking the time to watch and to sayin this :D
@@tomzeto haha that’s the spirit!
St Michel glasses?
Nope, they are Warby Parker Milton frames. Thank you, I didn’t know about that brand and they do have some frames!
Unsolicited advice:
This was great. Really cool. I would make the video shorter and maybe cut back and forth between you two instead of split screen
But this was great. You got a knack for this homeslice
That's an American pedal. Why does it have a British accent?
Fantasy is full of freedom which is very American! Thanks for watching!
So, Sunlight is kinda like Madonna?
@@bingobango4840 yes, they could be related. I don’t ask these questions though I’m glad someone’s asking these tough questions 😂
