This was a fantastic video! I'm extremely surprised it doesn't have more views than it does. The editing, scenery, sound effects, and camera/audio quality were reflective of a channel that deserves 1mil+ subscribers. Amazing content :)

Great content as always. The return policy is awesome. I do however, find that the excitement of the size of my dividend that shows up in March makes me question my spending.

Not an REI fan. But valid point in regards to Amazon. I was right next to one in Colorado Springs once and needed a snowboard waxed. They wanted $70 and said it would take 2 days....it's $10 and done in 10min at a resort.

Now I’m thinking you are getting some REI kickbacks on top of your membership rewards.

Lol I wish! But maybe if they notice all the REI stuff I do it will entice them to send me stuff 😀

Hi Jon, for the REI Flash boots you showed a gnarly blister on the back of your ankle, was that caused by the boots?

REI is a trap imo. You can shop locally or even buy direct from the manufacturer and still save money. Even with an employee discount, it's still cheaper to go elsewhere... And NEVER take a bike to them, lol, trust me.

To each their own. Here in Boise, REI is cheaper than every local shop. And then that Nemo tent behind me, it's the same price on REI as it is on Nemo's site. and you get 5% back at the end of the year if you're a member. Plus isn't it easier to order all from one place, instead of several manufacturers? And then returning things is way easier with REI. A whole year you can just drop it off at the store and get your money back no questions asked. But hey whatever works for you!

@@JonConti idk man, I think they got you hooked, lol... You don't need name brand stuff to enjoy nature. I challenge you to go camping with only gear from your house, aka your permanent basecamp. You should have everything you need right at home, plus or minus a tarp. I know it's fun to spend money, we are programmed that way... But I'm telling you, grunge is good! Those rei clowns go through weeks of training just to learn how to pressure you into a membership and make you spend while you are there. I mean, it's a cool store, no doubt... But they aren't there to help you. Certain items could be considered a good deal at times, but for 90% of things, you owe it to yourself to look elsewhere!

@@steezystonks - I understand. I am running out of good places to shop. I shopped at Campmor for over 40 years. That's easily over $100,000 in purchases. Last year I made my first return. The woman that has been working there forever couldn't be more rude and hostile. I didn't even wear the item. The tags were still on it and it was only the day before I had purchased it.
REI is no longer a option either after the crdit card theft. Yeah, they used my card for false purchases. My bank covered it. But the manager refuses to explain why she ran my card numbers in her back office after I left the store for false purchases. And this was after I forgave them for taking hundreds of $$$ in credit I had accumulated. I was saving it for a possible rainy day. No warning no nothing. They just said it was now their policy to delete credit if not used. It took me years and thousands of dollars to accumulate it.

      PS
I gambled on Amazon. No brand name stuff. So far most (not all) have been excellent. Great quality and cheap prices. Jackets, pants, gear... Every once in a while a crook would sell total crap. But it was so cheap I really didn't care. I didn't even bother to return the crap stuff. It's not like a $200 Mountain Hardwear, more like $30. As for bike repair. I stood there politely waiting to be serviced forever. The guy insisted on ignoring the people waiting. When I initiated contact he acted like I was bothering him. This is Paramus NJ. Too bad, I have a $5000 bike and just the chain on it is $100. But maybe he was just having a bad day.
I have met some great people working at REI, but 100% of the great employees quit in less than a year. The ones that remain..... eeew.
