    Can vouche for Tim's app course. It was sooo worth it. I was already more than a year into my rope journey and had picked up most of the moves and Tim's other courses, but by committing to and completing the structured course I was definitely 3-4x better by the end of it, 6 weeks later.
    He has you start from the beginning and patch up any weaknesses in your transitions and describes each move set in excellent detail. I really couldn't be happier with it. Highly recommended, whatever your skill level!

    You should also review Slushropes. That was the first rope I picked up. A little more dense than Golden Teacher but similar thickness, I bounce back & forth. I love them both.
    Also, Tim's course is worth every penny. I got the package with all 3 ropes, which were worth the wait of shipping to the States.

    Hi there!! Thank you so much for the comparison Tim:
    Just two points to be considered while purchasing ropes:
    I took the one provided by Octomoves less than two months ago. This was the first one I bought, as it was the cheapest one from the three compared by Tim, at least for Spain, and for sure I have regreted it: I have just used it 15 min per day during these months and a half and the signs of damage are quite visible. The helpdesk does not help at all, stating that this is what I can expect
    Moreover, the course that is “included” for the price you pay is ridiculous: It is just the free course that you can have without buying any rope, even directly available in UA-cam. And the tips that are reflected there are not focused on the correct alignment, and benefits for the spine and health as per Tim’s. I immediately regreted my purchase and I started taking the 8-week fluidity course from TWOTR. I am incredibly happy with my purchase. 3 weeks after starting, my progress is quite obvious, and my only regret is to not having bought the Gold Teacher Rope from the very beginning. A pitty
    Again, thank you very much Tim for all the effort and kindness you put in every video, tutorial and material provided

    What is the material of the golden teacher on the outside and core? It appears to be a natural material due to the color, but based on how smooth it is I’d guess it is some sort of synthetic material?

    Nice comparison Tim. Here in the states, Weck is the only viable option due to shipping cost. As much as I love ropeflow and have benefited, I still feel foolish to spend $30 on a rope.

    • @narrowkeel
      @narrowkeel 2 роки тому +15

      Meh, don't feel foolish. We've gotta support creators that are adding to our lives. I'm sure you've gotten at least a few dollars of value from his free material. Might as well say thanks and support what he's doing. It's not that much more expensive, and you'll get many, many miles out of it. It's not foolish to dedicate $30 (or even more) to an enduring training tool that can be used every day for years. A gym membership is $30 or more just for one month. Both are worthwhile.

    Perhaps to mention that it is possible to purchase the golden teacher from living tea if you are in the states. Good idea. Which material/type of cordage and what thickness did you choose? Do you know how much it weighs?

  • @TheGenarian
    @TheGenarian 4 місяці тому

    I would be interested to know whether these cords are nylon, polyester and how many strands? They certainly do not look like real jute rope and therefore, unless the latter they're not green so to speak.
    Unless the rope is a specialist rope such as a climbing rope then trying to justify spending 70 EURO on 2-3 metres of rope to flow with seems rather expensive to me as a pensioner looking for ways to get other genarians moving their bodies.
    All kinds of rope will wear out eventually depending on how you treat them and where you use them. Just like skipping/jumping rope, if you use a shock absorbing mat then you will prolong its lifespan. People seem to be so eager to part company with their hard earned over something that is really quite elementary whether it be from Italy or China. OUT.

    • @Tims_Gym
      @Tims_Gym  4 місяці тому

      It is a specialist rope that is costs a lot by the metre. I also use 50%+ recycled plastic from the oceans to make my ropes which adds even more to the cost not to mention mind are 100% made in the UK. You can off course try the movements with cheap rope but it does not feel the same as with a proper rope flow rope.
      Also, and possibly most importantly, some people just like to support others personal businesses that are positively inclined and not just faceless corporations.

    Why not just buy 6 ft of rope at Home Depot?

    • @mikahundin
      @mikahundin Місяць тому

      Buying 6 feet of rope from Home Depot is a perfectly viable and budget-friendly alternative for rope flow exercises! Here are the key considerations for choosing between DIY and branded ropes like RMT or Octomoves:
      Advantages of DIY Rope (Home Depot Rope)
      Cost-Effective: A 6-foot rope from Home Depot costs a fraction of the price of branded options.
      Customizable: You can choose the thickness, material, and length that suit your preferences.
      Durability: Utility ropes are designed for tough use and may last a long time with proper care.
      Why People Choose Branded Ropes
      Special Design: Branded ropes are typically optimized for rope flow exercises. They often use weighted handles or unique materials to improve grip, weight distribution, and fluidity.
      Comfort: Handles and rope materials are often designed to minimize discomfort and prevent chafing during high-repetition workouts.
      Ready-to-Use: Branded ropes come pre-assembled, often with weights and optimized rope lengths, saving you the hassle of adjustments.
      Aesthetic Appeal: Products like Octomoves come in stylish designs, which some users find motivating.
      DIY Rope Tips
      Material: Choose a soft but sturdy material like cotton or nylon. Avoid stiff or abrasive ropes that could irritate your hands or snag on clothing.
      Handles: Add your own handles using PVC pipe, tape, or foam grips for comfort.
      Weight: If desired, you can wrap tape around sections of the rope to increase the weight and mimic the functionality of branded weighted ropes.
      Conclusion
      If you're new to rope flow or on a budget, a DIY rope is a great starting point. As you progress and if you find value in the added features of branded ropes, you might consider investing in one later. For many, the workout is just as effective with a simple rope!

    Just found out about this rope flow thing. After years and years of skipping rope like a pro i feel it's about time i give my knees a break and focus on the arms a bit more.
    The only thing that baffles me is why you Brits, with your maritime heritage, have turned to an Italian compay to source your ropes? Don't you have rope makers in the UK? Norfolk, perhaps? You could have gone to the Dutch Langman ropes.
    Why Italy?
    I know italian companies (not all of them of course but many for sure) are shady to say the least.
    Be that as it may, i might give your ropes a try but after Brexit it'll be hard to buy anything from the UK - i am based in...wait for it...Italy!!!

      @@Tims_GymIt's nothing to worry about. The political extremists in my country have certain slogans that involve other uses for a rope unfortunately.
