And I know there was some very good looking ladies back then who are grandmothers now. I was only 12 years old when this song was released in 1969, I'm a grandpa now.
No you are not too old, it is in your mind, I am 62 and I ride road bike, and there are guys there 75 and 85 and two of them are 90 and 92 they ride alot and I cant follow them, they inspired me to keep on going!!! So dont give up, dont have the old school mentallity that just because you are a certain age you are over the hill!!! Blessings!!!
There's some really great stuff out there today if you look hard enough for it. Check out Giuda, Duffy, The Empty Hearts, The Busymen, Darren J Ray & The Love Bugs - they all crystalise the rock'n'roll and pop and soul sounds of the 60's and 70's. :-)
Have a listen to Duffy's 2008 hit "Mercy" done by Northern Soul one-off band The Third Degree. Amazing! But a shame that the radio stations wouldn't give it more time of day. ua-cam.com/video/ZQ9oT_BRNt8/v-deo.html
So glad I grew up in the modern age, where I have access to some 70+ years of rock, 40 years of rap, 100 years of jazz, 1,000 years of classical, ect. All accessible from my computer in my room At no extra cost (if you know where to look)
I would like to give the person props who put this old jam together with a video and looped this girl jammin to an old Evergreen song from 1969. I was jammin to this song when I was 8 years old. It was off the HOOK in 1969 and it's off the HOOK in 2024!
Maybe go listen to Neville Goddard . He says you’ll be 20 after you die . And truthfully I can remember the other worlds now I frequent them in my dream.
my arms broken? I have no idea what you mean.... are you trying to be mean? I made a comment about my Mom being beautiful. .. sooooooo what is it with your comment?
Your mom sounds awesome. The girl in the video I believe is the same one who used to do the Monkeys' videos...she was one wicked dancer and if it is the girl I'm thinking of, she was one of the most sought after in the industry.
What a time for music and with all those fabulous girls untouched with tattoos and piercings and shaply figures . Glad I was a teenager in the late sixties.
Hey folks; I was a little kid in 1969 but I remember watching American Bandstand with one of my older brothers and I remember this dance being called “The Swim”. Anyone else recall “The Swim”? There so many dances in the 1960s and 1970s it’s hard to remember all of them. You were encouraged to try new things and “do your thing”. A lot more free spirited and freedom to try new things and not the rigid conformity of today’s young people. It was an anti-establishment, anti-Vietnam war era.
I recently heard this song on the radio and it took me back to the 1977 Chicago White Sox baseball team and reminded me of how this song brought a city filled with millions of people together and still does so today.
The little whip-crack reversal move she does over in the right side of the screen.... love it... yeah I don't care if it is digital trickery, it's brilliant!
Not digital trickery, they simply played the clip, then reversed it then looped it. The original clip is only a few seconds and it is part of an army film.
I turned 6 years old on 7-11-69 but I remember that song clearly! Beautiful song and that beautiful dancer!! (The ' dancing troll ' is Robin Mary Paris 🥰)
Beautiful women? Hell, this is what the average woman looked like in the 70s. No obesity, no purple hair, no face piercings, no tattoos. It’s why I stick to conservative women. They are fun in that you can tell they are women just by looking at them.
The girl is Robin-Mary Paris, she had minor part in Annie Hall, and did some military WAC etiquette films...but she'll forever be a cool swinger babee!! ;-)
LOL, I think you're missing out on the humor... she's doing the same dance for all the songs she's in on here (check out the others by Dancing Troll). That's part of what makes it funny! But for me, the song was a hit from my first year of high school, so it still rocks. ;)
The night before I graduated from U S Navy bootcamp in San Diego we were in the outdoor commons having a Coke and Pizza party and a company of Newbies were marching by and we just started sing this song. It felt so good to be getting the hell out of bootcamp. Just then our company commander came out and told us to Shut The Hell Up. Saying if we didn’t stop singing right now he would put us all through bootcamp again. Saying you remember how you felt just getting here and loosing everything that you were. So we shut up quick👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
El ultimo gran hit de la dorada decada de los 60s, bailada maravillosamente por esta hermosa chica ¡Dios bendiga a todos aquellos que vivieron ese momento! Yo hubiese querido estar tambien

Watching her I was reminded of Otis Redding's performance of "Try A Little Tenderness" at the Monterey Pop Festival. He began by dedicating the song "to all the miniskirts" Then Otis sang, "those young girls sure get weary wearing that same old mini skirt dress." You can knock us boomers all you want...our music was better, women were more attractive and knew how to enhance their natural beauty and to this day? Our memories are better than any real life experiences you have in today's sad excuse for America. Life was good...
this was a "B" side recording( a throw away tune) the "A" side was mistaken as the "B" side of the single and radio stations played the wrong side, it is amazing how a mistake turned into "GOLD"!!!!

Everything was So Psychedelic Back Then. Music, Clothes, and Dancing Trolls. Loved growing up in the Sixties and Early Seventies.
Be there or be square!
It was all fun and games till you got into an accident and look at the old ambulance vehicles.

Pure '60's. And that dancer tossed off more moves in 4 minutes than I have in a lifetime.
10 seconds... it's 10 seconds of moves looped over and over again...
i wish i could spend the weekend in 1969
Coming with you,,,,,, I,ll pay.
It was great. Woodstock, moon landing and hope.....
If you do..you'll need to gave plenty energy and booms..we had it!!!
That would be soooo fun!!

Love to watch this girl dance. Those were the days my friend.
We thought they'd never end, We'd sing and dance forever and a day 😂
Those Were The Days
- Mary Hopkin
I was only 10 and 1969 was a fabulous year.
Same age as me
I was a newborn
At times I find myself thinking that I'll soon awake from this bad dream and realize to my relief that we're still in the 70's after all.
I wish!!
Maybe go listen to Neville Goddard . He says you’ll be 20 after you die . And truthfully I can remember the other worlds now I frequent them in my dream.
omg,, she reminds me of my Mom back in her days,,, lol I found some photos of her back than,,, my Mom was a Goddess,,
Were your arms broken by any chance?
my arms broken? I have no idea what you mean.... are you trying to be mean? I made a comment about my Mom being beautiful. .. sooooooo what is it with your comment?
the way the woman is dancing in the video, moving her arms

ah yes I recall my mom and her godmother dress, mainly when she put it on, I said, god mother, are you going to wear that dress?
You can put her to anything with a 4/4 rock beat. She's perfect every time. )
And, really boring after after you understand the fraud.
How old are you?!
You're correct! 🎵💃💓
Thank you! I was wondering what the time signature was. Appreciate it! 🎶🎶🎶
Can’t explain how much I love this. ❤
You just did. Sometimes there just aren't words to describe a sensation.
She's amazing isn't she, reminds me of better day's

Ah yes the Vietnam War era. Better times 🤔👍

Mid-1950s-1980s music was a whole azz vibe. All 🔥.
One of our favorite songs when I graduated high school
I sang it when Whitney Houston died.
When I was in High School ,...We would Play This Song at the Friday Nights Football Game !!
One of the many songs I will sit in my vehicle, in my driveway listening all the way to the end before going in the house.
I recently heard this song on the radio and it took me back to the 1977 Chicago White Sox baseball team and reminded me of how this song brought a city filled with millions of people together and still does so today.
my brother gave me a record player

It reminds me of myself my senior year in high school, like watching a ghost of the past.
The little whip-crack reversal move she does over in the right side of the screen.... love it...
