Hey, I know you posted this a long time ago but do you have any recommendations for a soprano ukulele. I do have some more room in my budget and I just want to make sure I am getting my best bang for my buck.
Hello! I have a question What do you think boywithukes ukulele? My son loves him so much and he said he wanted a ukulele just like hes if you know please tell me Thank you!
If you are in Asia, try UMA ukuleles. They are cheap and decent. It’s a Taiwanese company and they hand make a lot of their ukuleles. My first ukulele is a concert ukulele by uma, the UK 06SC, which was about $100 USD. The plate was solid wood and the rest were mahogany. I love this ukulele. The tone is ever so sweet and it’s super loud. It may be a little hard to find in the US as it is after all a Taiwanese company.
Thank you for suggesting tenor ukuleles, as I had been interested in buying one. I found one on Dawsons, but it's currently out of stock so I'm looking for other alternatives
OMG thank you for sharing the links to the websites! I just made a purchase for my first Ukelele and it is BEAUTIFUL. Without this video I would have never found it.
I am a beginner looking at getting my first ukulele, and I am torn. The Kala Ka-15s looks like a quality, traditional ukulele and the best option for my budget. That being said I am super drawn to the Enya because I am hoping to use the instrument while working with kids, so something that can withstand travel and a little bit of abuse is very appealing as well. Any thoughts?
Thank you! I just ordered a bunch of affordable ukuleles and making a video on them soon. I’ll make sure to add your ukulele recommendation to future review video.
Ricky, I bought the D'Addario (low G) strings you recommended (and linked) for my Kala KA-TG--the exact same ukulele you are showing in this video--and the strings don't fit! The fluorocarbon is too wide for the nut. Help, I'm confused! I would love to replace my strings and want a low G. Are you sure you used D'Addario for that specific uke?
the most expensive ukulele I own is around $650-$700. The Kala that I mentioned in this video might be my favorite ukulele I own in my collection with the Low G. :)
Ricky Somborn thank you for your reply. Considering prices of other instruments. The ukulele is a great value for beautiful music. Please keep sharing your wonderful talent with us. Blessings. 😊
Hey, I have some reach issues with my fretting hand and I have trouble playing chords on guitar because of that. Does the tenor ukulele have a similar fret facing or is it somewhat smaller?
Good info but you ignored the Baritone uke. Is that because they are supposed to be tuned like a guitar, D,G,B,E.?? And why are they tuned differently?? Also, when you play a uke the chords sound like the opening to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Is that what you are playing??
Yes, exactly. Baritone are tuned differently and I wanted to show some good options for beginner ukes. I am getting into baritone myself lately so I’ll try and make a baritone video soon. And you are also correct about the melody 😊
Yes, definitely, The main difference is the soprano ukulele is a little smaller than the concert ukulele. Also depending on the strings the Soprano could sound a little higher compared to to the concert ukulele
You will get it one day! The Enya ukuleles are amazing. Do you follow me on Instagram? I always do giveaways with ukulele companies and they ship worldwide. :)
@@rickysomborn they don't have Enya in Ecuador at all...the best you can find is Fender Grace VanderWaal, which is what I have. Other stores bring cheap Freedom, Mahalo, Cordoba and a few unusual Spanish ones. I have a tenor Valencia(made by a luthier in Valencia, Spain) which has a nice sound, but some other tiny problems I think I can fix with the next string change. The Enyas here would go for almost $300 because of import taxes etc. Most people won't pay that for a ukulele, even tho I did that with the Fender. Thanks for the review!!
Thanks for watching this amazon ukulele review video! Let me know which uke was your favorite in the comments below 😊😊
