    I love how you show off the cool pieces of nature in your videos too! That Conifer tree was pretty cool! I've seen those back in the day when I lived in MA. And that MA state coin you found was wicked awesome! Great score, Brad!

    Back when I was a kid, I used to put coins on the railroad tracks. Once they were flattened by the train they looked a lot like your silver coin. Thin, no detail left, and it would explain the brittleness due to the work hardening of the metal. Interesting find!

    Your little piece at 9:40 looks to be a key escutcheon. Where it is broke is part of the round section of the skeleton key....
    Then it goes straight below that. Probably off of a locker.....
    Another great video Brad.
    See you next time!

      Exactly what I thought. The round part of that hole is above the center of the plate which would be strange for a knob.

    Dude, I watch a LOT of UA-cam, on a variety of subjects. TV gets very little of my time the last few years. I gotta say your channel is great! I’m pretty deliberate about giving video’s a thumbs up and I’m also pretty critical. Your channel is one of a very few I can give a thumbs up right after pressing play, I now know it’s gonna be good! From content, camera work, and editing to the original music, it first class every time. Thanks for all the great content that makes your videos interesting and the “behind the scenes” work that makes them so easy and fun to watch. For real 👍

    I hate when my contacts get blurry and I can't focus clearly on Bigfoot when he ducks behind a tree!!! Contacts are just like any camera that Bigfoot "researches" use in the fact that they ALWAYS take blurry pictures!! LOL. Thanks for another enjoyable video.

    Well I'll tell ya my friend. It's like this, prove to me it was a coin and I'll shed a tear, but we can't. No harm no foul. It's always a shame to damage any relic found during an adventure, but, at least it WAS found. That was a great find on the Mass Copper. I'm from Northern New England and can almost 'smell' the woods in your videos. I love it and miss it. My favorite time of year to be in the woods is autumn. Thanks for taking us along Brad! Have a great weekend, catch you on the next one. Ken

    If you want to ID that silver and aren't concerned about causing it to have a slight gray tarnish, you can (use nitrile gloves or something similar) rub it with silver testing solution for about 30 seconds and then rinse. The deets will just pop right out while it is still wet. Have a camera handy, as the effects don't last after the coin dries. You can wet it again, but the details will fade away over time. Again... to be certain... the coin will have an ashy gray thin tarnish to it after exposure to nitric acid... but, you could cut the tarnish back to about how it looked when you found it with a little lemon juice, if you want.

    • @GMMD
      @GMMD  6 років тому +1

    I switched from tenny-boppers to steel plate jump boots after I stepped on a 3 1/2" Honey Locust thorn. Like a caltrop, it went through the sole of the shoe and luckily, between two toes. A fraction of an inch either way would have nailed me in a most uncomfortable way. Congrats on the Mass. coppa, Brad. Hope it cleans up pretty.

    Nice Massachusetts copper! That "was" one weird silver coin. Don't be too hard on yourself for breaking it the rest of the way thru. Now if that was the gold coin from THB that Brad broke, then seeing you weep like a baby would be expected. I know I would.

    Great silver (oops!) & Mass coins!!!! Always enjoy your adventures and always enjoy seeing early colonial. We have a little of it here in the Mid-Ohio Valley but mainly 1780s-1790s when we can find it. At 3:09 you appear to have a door knob escutchen. I believe, while you were spinning it, that I saw a lock screw hole on the edge. On the other hand, it might just have been dirt. Pictures are beautiful, but could you pan a lot slower? Also, when spinning an object slow down, show all edges. We are trying to live vicariously through you so please make easy for us.

    Where there railroads in that area? We find a lot of smashed coins that folks (mainly kids probably) would place on the railroad tracks. That silver piece could gave been such a coin. Just a guess...

    • @GMMD
      @GMMD  6 років тому

      Too high in the mountains for any tracks, but I like the guess!
