Great video and very well explained for a rather complicated topic.

If I provide my automower serial number, can you sell me a replacement HMI Board that will work in my mower? My display backlights, but does not show anything anymore.
As long as there are no errors with the mower, it still can run like this, but now I have some kind of error and I have no idea what it is. I would really like to get this display working again. Thank you for the great videos!

Do you have a video about invisible dog fences? Or could you give me a basic explanation of how to handle them when installing the boundary and guide wires? Thanks.

That is a hard one to make a video about. I say that because I personally have installed mowers on many properties with invisible dog fences and there were no issues between the mower and fence. BUT then I do have ONE property where there is an issue between the mower and the dog fence and after trying 3 different types of dog fence brand/controller the problem still exists. the owner has the mower and dog fence on individual timers so they aren't on at the same time. This system has worked well for his property for a few years now. So it's hard to say that this or that will definitely happen if you install a mower on a property with an invisible dog fence because it's really a case by case situation. I do know that Husqvarna has a list of pet fences that they suggest you use based on their results of testing. I've also heard that they are working with one of the invisible fence companies to come up with something that will work without question.

@Patton Grant they will work together in most cases. When I say most, from my experience it has been 99% of the time. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you believe a simple uncharged wire can interfere with an Automower? I have seen demo areas where wire was installed and the next season they installed a new wire in a completely different shape in the same area where the original wire was still in the ground from the previous season. That original wire is still there and has no current going through it and causes no interference. I personally have done installations where multiple mowers are on the same property and we over lapped the working areas and there is no interference or issue there either.

@Patton Grant In general, most dog fences operate in Frequency modulation (FM) band, which is insusceptible to interference. If interference does exist (usually Automower's loop signal suppresses dog fence's), user can change Automower charging station loop signal. Some dog fences use Amplitude modulation (AM) band, which is highly susceptible to interference and Automower's and dog fence's loop signal cannot co-exist without problems.

What if you just parallel more cells in the original battery port? It'd be the same voltage. Would it be able to make use of the extra capacity?

I don't know the answer to that but Eshlemania has another video "Automower Answers: Can You Add A 2nd Battery To A 430X (Husqvarna Automower)" which goes into that more and mentions another problem: The transformer for 440 and 450X are bigger and have other cables. Your 430X would need to spend more time in the station with each time.
So the number of charge cycles would be fever but that is probably not the only limit for a Li-Ion battery over several years time. Better use one pack now for some years and when it dies or is unable to run enough to keep the garden mowed then change it to a (fairly) newly produced pack of batteries.

Great mowers, crap tech support and customer communication! Husqvarna doesn't listen to its customers and doesn't care what we think or need. You are the only source of technical information and support. I hope you get something from Husqvarna! Again, great machines and I own two of them. Support is so bad though, I really can't recommend buying one.

I heard a rumor that Husqvarna would start allowing owners to perform their own firmware updates, without needing AC3 or a dealer login. Have you heard anything about this?

    • @EshlemaniaTV

There's always going to be rumors like that out there. And even in the case of the Bluetooth feature, there was a service bulletin issued months ago saying that the feature would be available and active in ALL X series mowers. Even after the bulletin was issued that still hasn't happened yet all these months later. So firmware updates being done without going through a dealer will eventually be something that happens, but I would not hold my breath for it because there are too many other priorities at this point.

AWD Automowers since last update can be updated without service program at dealers' place, you need only smartphone with application. It won't be possible to update other Automowers that are sold today without service program because of lack of memory on mainboard. Only AWD can do it so far.

And a year later or so the situation is the same. 435X/535 had a new generation of electronics/boards and was possible to get firmware updates over the air. The new models 405X/415X have the same generation (the motor control boards are the same) and have FOTA too.
So no hope for getting FOTA to other (older) models with AM Connect. For updating via USB cable it's a strange situation. Apparently the process can go haywire with updating. At the same time Husqvarna Group's other brand Gardena offers a program on the website to update via cable and those mowers are designed by the same group (sharing the same motherboard). So for Gardena customers apparently it is okay to either offer upgrade-ability to other risk bricking machines for depending on how to see it.
