I always enjoyed watching those commercials showing the new toys and how to play them...that's the only thing I can do since my parents couldn't afford to buy me one
I didn't collect Ghostbusters toys but I appreciated the commercials. I always liked toy commercials where the figures were in a miniature world, makes sense that growing up with 80's toys I got into miniature wargaming where I could make my own tabletop worlds.
Nice review of many of the figures/switch forms in this Real Ghostbusters line. A cool animated show, and I hear a new sequel movie is being made soon. I was able to get the 6 reissue carded figures new for $10 each and was impressed by the quality. Good stuff, thanks!
The mini goopers were meant to put slime in, which my parents loved so much. Same with the He- Man Slime pit, my favorite toy ever. I loved the slime- bomber monsters from Ghostbusters too. So cool. Great vid.
I got everything I could from the original Ghostbusters line as a kid. I loved ghosts and monsters so it was right up my alley. I’m not even sure I had the whole team, but I had many of the monsters and little vehicles and stuff. I think they were mostly bad guys for my X-Men figures. As an adult collector, I don’t particularly want or need these figures, but it was really fun to take a stroll down memory lane. They did some really fun and interesting things with these toys and it’s obvious why they were so popular. I do also have a theory about why Hasbro made the retro stuff incompatible with the vintage toys. I think it’s a way to keep unscrupulous individuals from passing the retro toys off as the original and ripping people off. It’s also a good way to keep you from being able to buy the retro figure in order to complete or repair the vintage figures. They did things like that with their retro Beast Wars line as well. All the plastics are in a different shade, and there are other little differences that make the retro figures distinct from their vintage counterparts.
Great review, mate. i had so many fright features as a kid but all i wanted was the 4 ‘Busters because… the movie and the cartoon. I didn’t need he gimmicks but, being a little younger and living in Australia, some things were harder to get. In 2020 i came across the retro figs and could not buy them quickly enough. I added Stay puff and i’m always kicking the tyres on an Ecto 1… probably get the afterlife model, as it’s cheaper and scales fine.
used to have all of those when i was a kid. even the scare action ones. nice collection, brother. i planned on getting the re release versions at some point and keeping them on card cause they are parts of my childhood i want to pass on one day if i have kids that is.
Also, the Screaming figures, you pit the ghost into the hole and it makes a weird screaming noise to go with the feature. The glowing figs are actually really rare. Most places never got them when they came out. I think that Winston Super fright feature fig is also rare.
I had both housing units in the firehouse and precinct. I had missing parts on both but made it work like using a pringles top and a mini flag pole stick as the firepole. Those were the good ole days. They don't make them now a days like they used to.
The real ghostbusters, that’s my childhood right there, brilliant memories, the screaming heroes onwards are becoming expensive now, a screaming heroes janine can go for £100 complete now, and the power pack heroes and slimed heroes you may as well get carded ones for the price they go for, I got a complete winston power pack for £15 last year now he’s going for £125 it’s crazy
@@tydiriumhanger1320 yea the ecto glows are rare certainly I wasn’t even aware of them until 4 years ago, I keep telling myself I’ll get one someday 😂😂😂
I really enjoyed The Real Ghostbusters as a kid! I even liked the original series and the cartoon adaption as well. The toys, not so much. I grew tired of the toys with gimmicks after Super Powers. Something about the lack of poseability took me out of my imagination.

The Hasbro reissues are all great and I was actually surprised how much kenner put into these figures for play value

I love your monster voices. Ill have to have you send me some voiceover mp3s that i can use in some of my vids.

I was really hoping they would re-issue the little containers of different colored slime, with a little ghost that came with them back in the day.
Yep we need modern slime!!!
Try hitting your Glow in the Dark pieces with a blacklight to quickly charge the particles. May help the feature show better on camera.
Great tip thanks!

Some of those have gone crazy lately. I wish I would have gone after more ecto glows before they got super expensive

I sorta wish I would have given it a chance back in the day but still fun to catch up 40 years later LOL
@@tydiriumhanger1320 - I, too, have those regrets about things back in the 80s and 90s! That said, thanks for all the great content!!
2nd run rgb humans had the cord in the center of pack
Strangely the ecto 2 was the only vehicle that never came with a mini ghost, I’m not sure why?
That is some interesting info and I thought it was strange there was not ghost
It seemed strange to me, is it possible they just forgot? How can we find out?
