I used to live just across the railroad tracks from Old Town Spring. So much has changed but nice to know the doll hospital is still there! I don’t know if it’s still there but back then the place for BBQ was Reed’s BBQ right outside OTS. Started life in a literal shack and was a large building with a great dining room by the time we moved back to the SW side of Houston. Made me homesick for the time when my kids were babies and I was younger!!
I actually dropped of a doll I got when my grandma passed away, the doll hospital did a fantastic job repairing her. We use to spend weekend in Old Town Spring, I grew up in Greengate. I miss going to Wunsche Bros Cafe!
Here's wishing the Spring Cafe (Wunsche Bros Cafe) will come back some day. I think it was the coffee shop you showed at the beginning of the video. I used to eat burgers and CFS there starting in '71.
We visited OTS because of y'alls road trip guide and got the popcorn as well! They remember y'all and appreciated it! Also, the food and shops were so fun, its a regular place to visit now :D
Hey chet, come to brenham Tx & go to truth bbq!! It’s so widely popular, you wait in line from 9:30 in the morning, but it’s worth it!! They got themselves on the tx monthly magazine for one of the best bbq places in Tx, but they’re only open on the weekends
I live about 2 miles from OTS. The way to avoid the lines at Corkscrew is to order online and pick your pickup time. Surprised you didn't touch on the haunted aspect of Old Town Spring. There is a book out about it, and they offer tours as well. I've had burgers at 5ate, and even walked on that same beach on the creek. Did not even know about the TGR park. Will have to try it out. Thanks for the visit to my neck of the woods.
They stopped doing it. I grew up walking to the fest every year. I talked to the staff at the fried Oreo place (loose caboose) and they said the guy who used to run it every year retired and moved away and no one has any desire to do it again. 😢
Took my daughter there for her Birthday .. we went on the OTS Ghost Tour from 9-11pm. the History there is very interesting..we did catch a lot of paranormal activity..
spring ends @ woodlands parkway for (mailing addy purposes) north of parkway u r the woodlands, south of the parkway u r spring (give or take a mile or so error correction) & rayford rd is all spring
I went to Italy for my senior high school trip, went to the vatican and stood directly over Pope JP2 in his glass coffin. It was a very surreal experience.
Im surprised you didnt visit Wunsche Brothers Cafe or The Jailhouse Saloon. Wunsche Bros there forever. It did catch fire a few years ago so it may have been closed when you came through. The Jailhouse Saloon was the old Spring jail. Still had the cells and bars inside. It was sold recently so it might have been closed down.
Now I can't stop hearing the song "Old Town Road" in my head!
🤠
Long live The Daytripper!
🤠
Lived in Spring about ten years and still visit Connie’s shop for soaps every time I’m in the area. Great little shop
Such good stuff.
Love corkscrew. But Pinkertons is my favorite

My husband teased me when I wanted to visit the Funeral Museum but when we got there he really enjoyed it. It's very interesting.
That is too funny
That’s home for me. I can’t believe he didn’t go to El Palenque Mexican restaurant lol aw.
The corkscrew took over hides.. love to see it
It opened originally behind big lots in the Woodlands...fantastic BBQ.

It's open again! It was under construction when we filmed but it's BACK! The coffee spot was a different building on the other side of downtown.
The coffee shop used to be an antique shop. I believe they closed because the owner was retiring.
Granny Tamales in spring ❤
My dance studio is an Old Town Spring this was a great show 🎭🎭💙💙💙💙💙💙🎭🎭🎭🎭
Red oak is literally my top choice when smoking brisket. I would say Post oak, hickory, mesquite in that order after that
Enjoyed the video 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Why don't you go to El Paso, Texas
Forget Huston's it's traffic honestly is far worse than Chicago traffic is and people don't uses turn signals at all
It's not so bad when you're up North by Spring.
You have to try KC’s bbq sir.
Who's KC?
