Boy I understand the wild life. We have to watch our dogs too. Coyotes are bad. You and your husbands home is beautiful. You know I love your deco. I really like the paint color.
Hi katrice! :) Coyotes...yikes!!! I've never seen one of those...we've had a bear wandering around, Sophie was 'playing' with a opossum one night, deer abound, raccoons and foxes too--and who knows what else. (We have cameras on trees and we do catch some interesting things...). :) Thanks so much for your kind words...and I'm with you on that paint color, I wish I could put it throughout, but, it just wouldn't match, but, I'll find a nice greige color eventually.....I hope. :) :)
Arlynn your home is definitely lovely, warm and cozy. I was a little dizzy because you did it a bit fast. I'd love if you did a more in depth, slower video per room. You are so creative. I WANT TO SEE IT ALL! :-)
Hi Marie---Oh gracious, I'm very sorry I made you dizzy, I'm still new to all of this. I will try to get better moving forward. Thank you for your kind words. :)
Beautiful home...so enjoyed everything!! I grew up in Chattanooga and at Christmas we always had the candles in the windows but when we moved to Texas no one had them...except me I think!!! I put them in all the windows and several years ago we were going thru something big and when Christmas was over we decided we wanted to leave the candles up year round...as a thought or memory for us....that has been probably 6years ago and they are still burning...love them...warmth and cozy they bring..small touch--big meaning!!! was glad to see someone else keep them up all year!! I am probably the only house in Texas with them!!
Can you tell me what the handy remote for all your tiny lights is called. Tell Chris, I need to order one! Thanks for the beautiful home tour. We lost our beautiful home a few years ago when we lost our health. And as expected depression from the shock of our life taken such a turn for the worse, set in bad. For the past 15 years we've bumped along from one place to another, just managing to scrape by. I lost my will and desire to make my home a happy and 'cozy' place. Well, after watching a few of your youtubes, I feel like maybe I could find some cheap ribbon and some dried twigs and put together a wreath to give my wall a bit of country charm. My home is a much more humble dwelling, in fact it doesn't, nor will it ever belong to us, but watching you decorate yours has inspired me to put some effort into making my home, (as humble and poor as it is) a warm and cozy place to be in. Thank you so much for showing us how you put together your beautiful creations. Thank you for your inspiration.
Thank you so much Wanda...I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your health more than you house. Without our health, everything else seems unimportant huh. I hope that y'all are okay, and I'm glad to hear that you are going to try to make the home you have look warm and cozy. The space matters not (truly...we didn't always have a home like this), it is who resides and the love that abounds in whatever we dwell in.
Hi Down The Glitter Pink Road---Thank you so very much!! And you and I share a favorite room...the kitchen truly is the heart of our home and my favorite room. :)
First let me say I am sorry about the loss of your mother....Really enjoyed this home tour. Your furniture pieces are gorgeous. I love older looking pieces/furniture been passed down to family members. Arlynn, hope you don't mind me asking....where did you find your metal scroll decor? I haven't found any like the ones you have in my area. TYFS.
Hi Nancy---Thank you so very much for ALL of your sweet and very kind words about my furniture and family pieces. And thank you about my Mom too...gosh how I miss her.
Arlynn's Country Craft Corner...oh Hobby Lobby! I do shop there but didn't think to check for them there. Thank you! by the way- just watched your Valentine cream wreath tutorial...so pretty.
Hi Nancy---Awww, thanks about the Valentine's wreath...that was a fun and quick one to do and it did turn out to be a pretty one. :) I just love that big red bow. :)
I absolutely love your home. It is beautifully decorated in the prim/country style. You did a fabulous job in decorating. So warm and still cozy. I really enjoyed hearing you speak about the choices you made when you moved in. So many special touches. And lots of great ideas. Cant wait for to see more. Thank you for sharing. I am now subscribed!! :)
Hi Rachel--First of all, welcome!! And thanks so much for your subscription. :) And thank you so much for all of your kind words!! I'm working on Episode #2 today--We'll do a tour of the bed and bathrooms I think. :)
You have a wonderful home Arlynn! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. The lighting gizmo is a fab idea! Can't wait for the rest of your series. Love from Richard in the U.K.
Hi ryzardt---Thank you so much for taking the time to watch Richard. :) I just posted Episode 2 this morning...:) And yeah, that lighting gizmo is wonderful. :) :)
I absolutely love your house - the decor, the countryside setting, the warm cozy feeling it gives. I am hoping to build my country dream home someday as well. Also, your dogs are the cutest.
Hi Jennifer--Aww, thank you so very much!! We looked for quite a while for this piece of property, I, like you, love the countryside setting. :) Thanks about the dogs too...They are sweeties and the Newfoundlands obviously were being very silly while I was outside...haha. ;) :)
I'm blown away by the thought you put into designing and building your home!🙀👌🏽. You are truly blessed to have the home of your dreams!! Having a handy husband is a total bonus too 👍🏽. I knew this would be a wonderful video series!! I can't wait to see more!!!🤗. Also I loved the burlap you used to have on the stairs!! Your fur babies are just precious 🐶🐶🐶❤
Hey, hey, hey PURSEDIVA---Thank you so much, I so appreciate your words, you are so right, tons of thought and planning when into this home. We'd lived in our other home for over 25 years, and there are so many things that get added a little tiny bit at a time, some things that we'd knew we'd miss and wanted to be sure to add at the get-go. Like the Holiday lights, and the extra outlets that I'll tell y'all about when I walk though the living and dining rooms. First though will be the bedrooms...:) :) And thank you so much about the pups...they are sweeties, no doubt about it. ;) :)
Hi Emily--Thank you so much girl---I'll be working on Episode #2 today, I *might* be able to get it up by this evening. If not, then definitely tomorrow. :)
Loving this tour and your beautiful home. I especially like hearing about the special choices you and Chris have made that make it perfect for you and your fur babies. Can't wait to see your next video!
Hi Arlynn! You have a beautiful home. I love how the lights and lanterns on top of the cabinets are all connected to one switch. And the candles in the windows. What a great idea. I also have candles in my windows, the Luminara ones. I love all the choices you made in decorating. I also enjoyed your Christmas house tour...AMAZING!!!!! Continue to enjoy your lovely home in good health and happiness. : )
Hi Donna---Thank you so very much!! I LOVE the idea of Luminara candles in the windows, perfect for the evening hours, (5 hours on and then off automatically). I wish you good health and happiness as well. :)
Hi Janice--I do have a few primitive touches here and there scattered about. I would actually love to go to Amish country in PA--I haven't been in years and years (although I grew up pretty close), but yes, they have gorgeous furnishings, I'm betting that you have a gorgeous home. :)
Arlynn, where do I even begin? I love every choice you made - just beautiful! You are so funny "I don't paint!", lol you're lucky Chris is so handy! We were offered the window light package too when we built 16 years ago- it was $400 at the time and we already were maxed out in upgrades, so I only put my lights out at Christmas. You have given me some wonderful ideas for when we build our retirement home in a few years only I want all one floor- my poor knees! Take care!
Hi Tracey Elaine!!! I obviously crashed after I got this video up, so I'm so, so sorry that I'm just now responding, ugh to me! I'm sorry UA-cam was giving you issues girl.... Thank you so much for all of your sweet words!! And you are so right, I am a lucky lady that Chris is so handy and that he is willing to help me in this house---other than the painting that I "don't" do (you do not want to see that mess..haha), he really is sweet about hanging stuff up and creating stuff to make life easier (like putting the little transformers on the lantern candles up above the kitchen cabinets). :) We do have a main floor master here, so I hear you about those bad knees...ugh...
Tracey Elaine lol, mentioned you in my comment...I know about pain, for me it's my back. Hope today your having a better day with your knees. God Bless.
ladybugcarrie awww back pain is no fun! Sounds like the joint and back problems are unfortunately par for the course sometimes when we reach a certain age lol!
Ps I said we moved out of state and went into our thoughts. Mind u we are living in a house 🏡 now.. when I read back what I wrote after posting it sounds as if we moved out of state and we will move into a house in a few yrs when hubs retires. U get what I mean.
Hi Arlyn, wow! Your house is beautiful. I love how u say " cozy corner" . I tend to say " nook " ..same meaning. Hearing your hubby banging reminds me of growing up. My dad was a true Handyman. Well more than that I should say. He was a true Craftsmen. Iam just getting to watch this house tour series. My hubby has been sick for over a week plus, ended up in hospital . Bad case of flu that they call Flu B plus some respitory issues. All is good now but dr. Said he will not feel himself for some while. Was suppose to celebrate our daughters bday today after being canceled 2x already. Hubs just not well enough and dr. Assured us he is not contagious anymore but he needs complete rest. So we are shooting for this coming weekend to do the dinner (her fave..my penne ala vodka) and b-day cake and candles.🎂🎂🎂 Ok, enough about me..hehe So annnywho, going to catch up on your vids today. We have a lot critters in our backyard too so we have a similar line up with the fences because of our 2 lil chihuahuas. Love your LIL', lol guys. Who let me guess, think they are lap dogs? Haha. I agree with Tracey (comment below mine) you gave me a lot of great ideas. We recently moved out of state. Getting to know areas and hubby will retire in a few yrs so we are in talks of buying another house then or building because like u, that's it they will carry us out. I also am with Tracey, will build one level living. In my case, bad back. Ok off to next video. Ps. I could compliment on everything but for now I have to say iam in love with your laundry room and all the outlets you specifically laid out in certain / specific places. Great, great idea. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi ladybugcarrie!!!! So good to hear from you, first, let me say how sorry I am to hear about your hubby's illness, ugh, ugh, ugh, poor fella, and he ended up in the hospital, gracious!! :( Hopefully he will feel up to celebrating your daughter's bday and have some of that scrumptious penne ala vodka..yum!! Please send him my best wishes for a speedy recovery!!! I bet your dad was awesome, he sounds it!! And nook! Yes, I've heard that saying too, I have no idea where I came up with the "cozy corner" description, well, yes I do, I wrote a blog after one of my friends asked me to show how I arranged my 'corners', so I just added cozy to it...haha. :) They are some of my favorite things to create. :) Thanks about our pups, and yes, you guessed correctly, they definitely do think that they are lap dogs...lol. The Newfs don't realize anything exists behind their big heads...hahaha. ;) Sweet as sweet can be too.
hi arlynn was looking at this video and listening to you about the warm of a home. you sound just like me. some of my friend think that i am nuts. it is so true, what is the sense of having a home that is not welcoming and can not be enjoyed. i have a friend of 20 years that you have to make an appointment to visit her. lol. i said to her what sense those it make for you to have all the beauty in your home if it can not be enjoyed with friends and family. i certainly enjoy listening to you and your share . blessings

Hi Arlynn😊 Quick update.... Got the Butter Nut paint color you shared. My husband and I are painting the basement stairway. Love♥️♥️♥️the color. Truth be told, I hesitated a few years because I just couldn't make up my mind. Thank you for your great taste and helpfulness of your videos. ♥️Jeanne
I have found myself watching your videos quite often. I just love your happy, at peace with life and loving the Lord personality. We do have a lot in common.......as I've noticed we both have 3 fur babies......a black, white and brown. My babies are Daisy (boxer), Goldie (toy poodle) and Bella (chi) aka "The Boss" :)
Your house is wonderful ... I was enchanted, I fell in love. I live in Brazil and I love style. I loved your channel and I'm registered. Thank you so much for sharing so many beautiful looks. Kiss Karla Azolin
Such a beautiful home! I love the laundry room because of the colors and it would be a dream working in there. The curtains are gorgeous. Also, your kitchen is a dream kitchen. So large and inviting. Enjoy and God Bless!
I am soon moving to Manassas VA and have to do some painting to our new home. I am in love with your wall color (gold/beige/mustard color). Do you remember the name of the color by chance. It is the wall with the plaid curtains and chair with the owl towel on it.
Your dogs are beautiful. You have a lovely home. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Janice--I do have a few primitive touches here and there scattered about. I would actually love to go to Amish country in PA--I haven't been in years and years (although I grew up pretty close), but yes, they have gorgeous furnishings, I'm betting that you have a gorgeous home. :)

Hi Jeanne---That color is actually called "Butter Nut", we got it from Home Depot and it is from the Home Decorators Collection, HDC-AC-13. :)
Your home is beautiful! Your decorating is lovely and your husband is quite gifted also! God Bless.
Everything was beautiful, but your laundry is beautiful. Cozy!!!
I'd like to know what color your laundry room is?
Butternut from Home Depot (I can't remember the exact paint that we used). I hope you enjoyed the video.

Arlynn - what is that gorgeous wall color?
I have found myself watching your videos quite often. I just love your happy, at peace with life and loving the Lord personality. We do have a lot in common.......as I've noticed we both have 3 fur babies......a black, white and brown. My babies are Daisy (boxer), Goldie (toy poodle) and Bella (chi) aka "The Boss" :)
Your house is wonderful ... I was enchanted, I fell in love. I live in Brazil and I love style. I loved your channel and I'm registered. Thank you so much for sharing so many beautiful looks. Kiss

Jean--Ahhhh, it is a small world--from one Virginia girl to another, thank you so much for your sweet words. :)
I am soon moving to Manassas VA and have to do some painting to our new home. I am in love with your wall color (gold/beige/mustard color). Do you remember the name of the color by chance. It is the wall with the plaid curtains and chair with the owl towel on it.
