- Taking you guys on a thrilling ride around Goodwood in the Ford Mustang that I am racing at the Members meeting.
Walk and talk through this awesome bit of kit.
Jake does make it look easy talking to us and racing something like this
I try my best! Loads more to come
You know you're a good driver when you can talk to the camera and drive that beast in the wet 😂.
Watched your other vids , its nice to see a racing driver actually be able to drive fast in a r32 gtr round corners instead of most UA-camrs chucking loads of power in one only going in a straight line.
It is a mega hard bit of kit to drive in the damp!
Haha thank you, I am not a fan of huge power GTR’s, 600hp is more than enough unless you are just rubbish at driving
Definitely, my r32 was just over 600hp and never thought I needed more . Just restoring it at the minute had it since 2001 and British road salt has not been kind to it 😂
Amazing video keep it up 👌👍
So much fun to watch, although I was slightly distracted by the bent steering wheel!
A really entertaining video,keep them coming. From Brisbane,Australia. 😊
What an animal in the wet. But beautiful car. Loving videos
Thank you very much. Really enjoying doing the videos for you all
"you never know if you are going to lob it off" haha true that.
The surprises of driving historic racing cars aye mate 😂
Nice little insight and professionally done keep up the good work fella 🤗😎
Appreciate it thank you!
Wheelspin heading to the kink on the Lavant straight looked terrifying and 'no name' didn't look too pleasant either. I hope the MM testing goes well and looking forward to watching the racing in a few weeks.
I wasn’t lying when the video name is “ it’s trying to kill me “ haha but we managed to hang on. Testing all went well thank you
You must try an rs500 in the wet ,, lol ,, Mustang looked a handful
Gotta love goodwood. Proper old school circuit where you can really close up to the cars and crew!
Not like some of these newer venues where you have to watch from a far behind a 20ft fence!!
Me too! One of my fave tracks to drive around. Just old school.
Amazing videos keep it up! 👌
Appreciate that! Thank you
LOL that you went from "uurgh, 'ave a day off!" to "this is a good lap actually, that was nice through there" in the space of about 10 seconds! Oh the short memory racing drivers must need to have at the wheel. Constant change.
Hahaha I know right. It can still be a good lap even if it is trying to throw you off at any given chance
Awesome video, might need some new boots 🤣👍💪🏎
New boots have just arrived!
@@jakehillracing awesome, hope they give you lots of luck 👍💪🏎🥾
That is mega, really enjoyed watching that.
Thank you Andy!
Hahahahahaha "Have a day off!" Loved the video and good luck for this season! 😄🤟
Hahaha trying to kill me!
Jesus that looks flipping lively! Mega car control mate, rooting for you at Members Meeting
Thanks Alex! Got to really hustle to keep the old girl together
Another great video mate, love the mustang! I also loved the pedal cam!!
Thank you very much! Pedal cam is cool!
Love the vid pal! The amount of wheel work going on was insane, all whilst still chatting away 😂😂
Good fun isn’t it. I am trying to get through just how difficult these old girls are to drive at times
@@jakehillracing absolute beasts! Great to watch though and you make it seem so easy 👍🏻 if it was me I’d end up in a wall 😂
It's amazing that a driver with the talent and experience of Jake, still gets frightened by what he is doing. I raced Citroen C1's at Croft in the pissing rain and was terrified. I can't begin to think what a V8 on a wet track must be like. Brilliant to watch.
What I would give to have your day job haha.
Wonder who had a shunt before you and bent the steering wheel 😅
God know! That steering wheel is probably older than me 😂
Wow I bet you was doing 50p- Penny clenching in the wet.
Just one thing how do you get that Mustang so high up in the pits???
Keep going Jake great vid 👍
Really was! Good question, a very big Jack and then it’s on rally stands. Which are mega
More power than grip ( tim harveys words ) separates the men from the boys i would like to see you test a ford sierra RS 500 cosworth touring car see what you make of them as a race car
I would also LOVE to drive a RS500. GROUP A is my favourite era of touring car racing personally.
No Monte Carlo bar?
I'd be impressed if he didn't have ABS, traction control, rain tires, and all wheel drive. Oh well.
You got any more days lined up testing? Il be down for the 28th with a friend testing a SD1 and a Fastback mustang
Nothing until the race now at GW. Plenty of other testing though
Saw you was testing at brands not too long ago for Pre 66 classic I believe?
You there this weekend ?
Nope not this weekend unfortunately
@@jakehillracing that’s a shame but looking forward to seeing you at members, hopefully bump into you an see how the cars doing 💪🏼🤝🏼
Mega 👍
Hope you don't have to work that hard in the BMW 🤣🤣🤣
If I do things have gone really wrong 😂
How is that roll cage even remotely FIA legal ?
One rule for the big V8s and yet another for everyone else !
In what sense Andrew?
@@jakehillracing For an App K FIA car, it appears to have much larger and numerous mounting points than what might be expected. I am only judging on what can be seen on the video.
I'm no scrutineer but it really gives the impression of space framing the chassis.
Following on from "the FIA" intervening on the Cobra Daytona, E-types, Minis and Elans (just to cite the ones I an think of), this one really surprised me.
When willment brought over the first nascar galaxie in 63 it had the huge roll cage, it was obviously over engineered to stiffen the chassis, protests from other saloon racers, think it was brscc in those days, made the team cut away various sections at least once if not twice, made little difference, the days of the Jag were over, then Mustangs usurped the Galaxies, the old ex Monte Carlo Falcons usurped the Stangs, the Alan Mann unleashed the Twin cam Escort in 68 for Frank Gardner, great period in touring car history.
