Bro, you yourself you're confused, Fela did not take Afrobeat from Ghana. There was nothing called Afrobeat or Afrobeats in Ghana until Afrobeats became a global genre somewhere 2015 to 2018
In early 2000's Tuface, P Square and Bracket were very popular than all of the Ghanaian musicians and late 2000,s Timaya, D'banj, Iyanya and Tekno took Afrobeats to the next level. That was the beginning of the new generation Afrobeats sucess story.
Over 95% of Ghanaians never even heard the word Afrobeat and Afrobeats until 2015 Nigerian Afrobeat/Afrobeats started becoming a global genre.
Ghanaians was doing Highlife, (Twi HipHop AKA Hiplife) and Reggae not Afrobeat or Afrobeats.

His mother advised him to stop playing hilife because it was no longer trending and not putting food on the table of his young family. And Fela listened and acted accordingly because the Lagos scene had totally moved away from hilife. Fela on Broadway got the sequence of his musical evolution to afrobeat. Watch it anytime they decide to recast.

Boy, you yourself I don’t think you are well informed enough about the origin of Afrobeat which is associated with Fela. Point of correction, Fela did not take Afrobeat from Ghana neither did he learn music from Ghana as some Ghanaians are selling this false narrative. Fela studied music in United Kingdom and the U.S.A. In his lifetime Fela visited Ghana frequently not because he had anything to learn from Ghanaian musicians but because he had several Ghanaian friends whom he had known from his days in the United Kingdom who were also doing music and besides there were large populations of Yoruba people in Ghana and people of Nigerian descent like the Igbos, Ijaws, Urhobos, Ishekiris, Hausas and others who enjoyed close affinity to his music because of the common denominator- the Nigerian Pidgin English. In addition Fela enjoyed large follower support amongst junior and mid level army officers because of his radical rhetoric. He had close relations with Jerry John Rawlings who invited him to Ghana many times to play during important national events. I have attended Fela’s concerts in Accra at the famous Apollo Theatre and other locations in Adabraka, Nima and Accra Central. I remember vividly the last time Fela was invited to perform in Accra by J J Rawlings, was in 1982 alongside other musicians from Guyana and Cuba and dignitaries such as Thomas Sankara. I was in attendance at one of the cultural events hosted for students and I represented my school during inter schools quiz sessions and Fela as well as other musical and cultural groups performed briefly. I find it very annoying that younger people in their 40s or 30s and 20s who know nothing about the history of music in Ghana are the most loudest presenting narratives about things that some of their parents don’t even know.

That is the question they will ask you first. The reason nigeria afrobeat sound better to the ears of the world which no nation can beat us to that. No this an no peace.
