Can't wait to try this new single electric motor. 1hr flight time will be awesome. Very excited and thanks for working on this. Electric paramotor is the future!
Single prop is what I am waiting for. Option to put it on a cage of our choice (mine being PAP Tinox) would be fantastic. The AC Delta - type frame yours is on is OK (Got one) but the Tinox would be awesome. You guys are amazing, keep up the good work!
Hello sir, wondering what your experience with heavier pilots is with the X4. Now that alot of units have been sold? What is the upper limit for a pilot. I am 230lbs and wonder if electric is an option for me...thanks... P.S. - I know I should lose weight but thats easier said than done...
It has been "two or three weeks". Any updates? At least a target price for the new unit so I can deny my relatives Christmas giifts in leiu of saving for the new unit.
Paul, So exciting to see this! Still haven’t gotten my batch 4 in the air yet, but it’s done. Curious why you went with the more traditional throttle lever - so many gas flyers I know love the thumb throttle on the OpenPPG.
Nice! It would be cool if the battery amount could be reduced in half. High current draw is though probably the bottle neck. If it would be possible to get total weight as low as something like 21kg, it would be totally worth the
Do you have a ballpark around the possible delivery time... Like month or year... I would really be interested in purchasing... And where are you located...
Wondering how quiet it would be with XL chassis and 150 cm 3 blade prop. (Assuming that is air-conception frame). Probably would require higher torque motor though.
Really looking forward to seeing how the power and endurance works out on the single prop. I'd love to see a retrofit kit made available for those of us with AC frame so we can go electric and save some money. I'm wondering if there's any advantage to reusing the stock throttle and kill/start buttons somehow. Keep up the great work!
Looks great - I’m in the process of buying a Sur-Ron electric MTB. They are also bringing out a new electric street legal motor cross style motor bike called the Storm. What are the chances of making the new single engine Paramotor cross compatible with the batteries for the Sur-Ron Storm or Light-B; so that they can be used in both the Paramotor and the motorbike. Sur Ron have huge R&D budget with world wide sales and using their battery tech would make for savings for customers having both. Thanks, Nic (UK)
SWEET! Not sorry I bought an X4 (which is just about all put together) but I can see myself selling it and getting this new one. Two advantages the X4 still has which I like because I'm a noob. Zero torque to deal with on launch and climbout. Not a huge issue once my launches are really solid though. Inexpensive propellers. Catching a prop on a bad landing with the X4 is going to cost me $50 or less and some flying time. Catching a prop on anything else is going to cost 10X that. Hopefully I won't have to though. And again, not an issue once my launches and landings are solid.
I love what it looks like. Im interested in the price of complete electronics and prop. I already have the frame and ring of my gas engine so I would install your kit on it. ;)
On the single prop model, is there a possibility to jettison the battery? The thought of a LiPo battery fire is the one thing holding me back from electric.
@@PDWhite water tight case? no vent holes ? Sound like thos case would explode from high pressure if liion went into thermal runaway. I would love to see feature where you can just drop the pack if things go wrong. Alternatively make vent holes in case blanked with rubber gasket so it stays watertight and just brakes if pressure builds up
I would like to see replaceable battery packs inflight... like the military refuels aircraft... but a ground crew using drones or foot drag snatch or grapple hook on an electric reel...
Somewhere I thought I saw a comment that the SP Electric paramotor was going to cost around $6000(ish) Just wondering if that is correct and if so why is it twice the price of the x4?
That's correct the sp140 cost more because it comes with everything you need to fly out of the box, harness, batteries, charger etc. Where the X4 just comes as a kit and you can choose other add ones but the price goes up above 3200
Ever since I was 2 years old I’ve been fascinated with flying. I’ve even been having dreams recently where I was literally basically flying a paramotor but without realizing it. Today I discovered this hobby, and I truly don’t think there’s anything I’ve ever wanted more in my entire life. How can I get into this hobby/when will this 1 hour battery life model be available?
Awesome!! When is the release video coming out? I can’t wait to get one of these! P.S. hope you have manufacturers lined up because I think your going to sell a ton of them! :)
Amazing work Paul! 👏🏻👍🏻 Any possibility of a titanium frame instead of the Al-Mag alloy as an option? Also will the swing arms be of the same strength as the ones used on the X4? Do the swing arms transfer the pilots weight through a beefy metal stub or only thru a bolt’s threads? Will it ship with 2 piece prop or triple blade prop? Is triple quieter than double?
You know what would be cool? An electric paramotor as an alternative to a wing tow. Just use the motor to get enough altitude, then drop off the motor, it flies home automatically. Then glide motorless wherever you want.
Hi PDWhite, We are interested in 1 or the other of your units. Check your email and see if you see anything from PilotGreg1. We live OFF THE GRID, and our place is powered by Solar. This would be a great addition to our existing machines. Thanks! Rose & Greg @My Filipino Life

Wow. Super cool. I like how it sounds. Pair this with a thermally day and you could fly for a while.
Great to see you making progress! That single prop is soooo quiet!
Dude... I would LOVE to try one of these out! Been flying a Moster 185 for 3 years now but I’ve always wanted to try a single prop electric!
So excited to get the SP140!
Exciting times!!!! Ill be all over that single prop next summer.

Time for another update!!!!!!!!!!
Great progress. Looking forward to seeing more of these in the sky.
Wooow!!! This version is so quiet!!!!
Good job!!!! I wish to have one in Germany :D
Great Video! Thanks for the update. Please Make the SP140 open source

Hey PD! will this SP140 be open source as well?

It's a tough decision I do prefer the thumb throttle, and it would be what I would do but for the large screen.
@@PDWhite Any chance that lever throttle will be available for the X4? Plug in replacement? Be a cool option.
This really is an exciting time for this hobby 👍👍
Paul, any updates on the progress? I love my batch 3, but I want one of these too! Thanks!!
Does single motor consume less than 4 smaller ones? Talking about flight time with identical battery.
Hi will electric fly longer if the weight is less?

Would love to see an uncut video of this new model from takeoff to landing for this new model!
Will it be open source as the X4 ?
Any chance of getting the SP140 with double battery on the lowboy quad? Could that fly with a 245lb pilot?
Is there a schedule when the X4 will be available?
Do you have a ballpark around the possible delivery time... Like month or year... I would really be interested in purchasing...
And where are you located...
A few months. OpenPPG ships from Ohio
@@ZachWhitehead just waiting for you to take my money. :)
Ive got a barnd new Atom80 on sell. As soon as I sell it I will want to go for your SP140.
@Kambojas Kambo I am selling it for 4000€. Shipping cost not included. I bought it on May and it is still in warranty

you said update in three weeks five months ago...
interested and waiting...
did you guys fold on the single prop or what?
Its will be released mid spring of this year, if you what more timely update you can email in or head over to the community forum.
YES Please!!

What size is the Battery pack and who makes it?? Man that’s so Quiet. It’s Very cool

Is that an Alien motor you're using for the SP140?

This is great! Mind if you share some high level specs? Kwh of the battery? Current rating of the ESC? Thrust?
It's in the description, the ESC is a custom 100v 200a design.
@@PDWhite , sorry I missed that! Looks really impressive. Good luck!
what's this paramotor called and can it be bought at a PPG store?
how is it so quiet?
Yep, its called the SP140 like in the title! openppg.com :)
How to order and make a payment for this x4 ?
On the single prop model, is there a possibility to jettison the battery? The thought of a LiPo battery fire is the one thing holding me back from electric.
The sp140 I a fully redesign battery pack. It uses li-ion cell in a full CNC water tight case with a built in BMS. So it's very safe.

It's going to be around $6900 ready to fly out of the box, battery, charger, harness etc.

Will the single prop version be available without battery, charger, harness, so we can use it with the equipment we already have?

Awesome man

:D Or you could drop the it with parachute to some large field, and hope it does not hit anything.
You should do that with the OpenPPG X4! It already has 4 motors just like a drone.
What happens if the battery(s) explodes mid air?
Get Tucker Gotta to fly one of these. You'll sell out in seconds
