    Thank you for the explanation on yams vs sweet potatoes! I've always been confused why Americans call them candied yams instead of sweet potatoes. As you said, they are totally different root vegetables. Yams are more readily available in Asia. so I will be trying this recipe with actual yams. Thanks so much!

      @@COOKnJourneywithGDnice They turned out perfect, I think with sweet potatoes it would have been too sweet. The yams balanced out the caramel. I used cinnamon spice instead of cinnamon sugar. The ginger and orange flavours were so wonderful! The glaze turned out to be more sticky than in your video. Thank you so much from Malaysia!
