    I just installed the Lone Rider soft panniers on my Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro in preparation for my ride from Texas to California to visit family. I wasn't sure how big the Overlander 48L was until I saw your video. Looks like I will be getting that bag. I best hurry up and get ready because my trip starts the last week of June. I still need to replace my GoPros with DJI Osmo Action Cameras.

      Glad it helps mate. Why the switch from GoPro, they work well for me?

      I have 3 Gopro Hero 8 Black action cameras I bought in 2021. They worked fine for about a year. Two of them now consistently stop recording after 30 seconds and the third one will not turn on. I still use my 2 Gopro Hero 7's that I purchased in 2018 but they are now becoming unreliable.

    I'm at that stage of life with retirement just a few months away, I work 350 days a year. Went out for dinner with my wife last week for the first time in 7 years, so it felt like a holiday just watching your video. This bike pack and plenty of other lone rider gear looks just the treat. Their duffle bag in 50L and the bike tent too appear to be a sound investment in my retirement plans. 👍😎 Australia🇦🇺 awaits.

    Great video Nick. Very informative. Love the all aspects of the way you review. Every video is getting better and better.
    Questions about bag. I notice it has a hook so you can secure it, can this be secured to the bike easily so no one can easily steal the whole the bag from the bike? But also when it’s secured, is it easy for anyone to steal what’s inside it ? Similar to the Lorn rider panniers in away ?

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
      @theboomerangbiker1966  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks Rami. Where there's a will, there's a way and if anyone wants your gear badly enough they'll get it. The metal bracket will slow them down though. The best way to prevent theft is to chain it to your leg in the tent I guess!

    If you notice on your breakfast pouch, there is a tear line a third the way down so it's easier to get your fork into the food without that tall bag inyour way. Just an FYI. Cheers mate. Nice editing BTW.

    Top quality and super informative thanks Nick! Do you think the Overlander 48 would fit a full faced helmet? I currently ride my bike to the airport and lock my helmet in my hard top box, rather than carry it on the plane. Do you think this bag could be secured well enough to be an alternative to this scenario? Also, are there any bike covers on the market that will fit over the bike with the full kit on (Overlander 48 and side bags (31/38)?

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
      @theboomerangbiker1966  2 роки тому

      Great question Matthew. I didn't know the answer so I just nipped out to the garage with a helmet. My large size BMW Carbon7 fits in easily, you could probably fit two in there end to end. Regarding security, Lone Rider recommended using a Steel Core Belt Lock but they don't sell them. The belt goes through the alloy loop on top of the bag and then around your rack/frame. Interested to know where you are based mate?

      @@theboomerangbiker1966 Hey Nick - thanks for that info. I have a Shoei GT Air 2 XL and it sounds like that should fit as well. I am based in Perth. Last year I completed a 7500km trip to Tassie on my 850GS with the BMW Vario hard luggage - worked a treat and very convenient. I tend to leave all my luggage on the bike all the time so security is important. I will soon upgrade to a 2022 1250 GSA and trying to decide whether to go with the BMW Aluminum luggage option or get a soft set - probably lone rider. I may even opt for the BMW top box and the Lone Rider side panniers.

    Be aware that the map pouch on the 30 L and 48 L
    Can fly off if exposed to wind .
    Don't ask me how I know 😏
    Also there accessorie bags do not line up properly to both side MOLE system ribbon strips and flop around do to only one attachment ribbon strip to attach to.
    Accessories attach to top MOLE much better on Outlander bags.
    Aluminum safety bar will rub on map pock / items stored between bag - 🦫 tail.
    Does Not clean easily.
    On a brighter Note : It can carry a med. Size Yapping dog on all of your adventures 🙂👍

    I really like their duffle bags and recently ordered one after seeing one at a ADV gathering. I was going to order the LoneRider Motobags as well until I saw their weight. They look and function great, but they are about 15 pounds each empty. So that's 30 pounds before you even starting putting gear in....that's more than already very heavy Mosko Moto soft bags and even more than my Touratech Aluminum Panniers or the Givi metal panniers. Just can't understand how they ended up with so much weight.

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
      @theboomerangbiker1966  3 роки тому

      I don't notice the weight but appreciate the bag weighs more than the Osah Drysak I was using previously. I think the majority of the weight is in the removal stiffener, which other bags including Mosko don't have. It stops the bag flopping over the sides of the seat. I'm also a fan of Mosko gear and have their Nomax tank bag...

    Just got mine - do you have any tips to get that red inner bag stiffener to fit? Mine is too big to line up evenly with the flaps over the inside velcro attachment points, and I think the stiffener is too large to fit the bag corners well - looks like it puts too much stress on the bag seams.

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
