TIPS TO AVOID WIND KNOTS | BAIT AND WAIT w/ FLOATER SETUP

- My second fishing trip of the year 2020, caught a fish using mini lures, bait and wait with floater setup.
SETUP USED:
ROD: abu garcia 8'8ML LURE: 5-24g
REEL: daiwa revros LT 3000k
M.Line: size 1.0 PE braid x8 18lbs
L.Line: flouro carbon 16lbs
LURE: jerkbait 5g 5cm

Good video...Another way to prevent wind knots is to grab your line with your finger once it hits the water then close the bail. I close the bail with my hand and not with the handle as it also can cause a knot especially if you are using braid. Also if its hard for me to reach the line, I would use my left hand to catch the line and serve it to my right hand and in one motion close the bail too , release the line immediately and hold the reel handle. It takes a lot of practice until it becomes second nature. It would also help if you place the stem in between your pinky and ring finger so its easier for you to grab your line using your index finger, middle finger or both. (I see that you you put it in between your ring and middle finger.) Much like the bait caster ( I know you use one) where you use your thumb to stop the spool and stops the line from coming out (birds nest), with the spinning reel you catch the line. Same principle. Once you perfected your hand technique, you can also do that even while the lure is still air-born and make it land accurately on the spot you wanted it to land. It will take a few cast to get it right as this will depend on your lure weight, line weight, strength of your cast and wind conditions. "Parang basketball, iba iba ang lakas ng tira". Go practice it on your next fishing trip.
thank for the tip sir. yes i use bait caster its my favorite type of reel. im just comfortable putting it between my middle and ring finger. i have ah big palm and long fingers so no problem grabbing the line. fish be with you.

Yo Regz! love your vids! I notice u like using light lures 5-10 grams, how far do those go when you cast? If I try to cast that light 5 grams I cant get it to go very far :(

pwedi pero makapal na yan. nasubukan ko na. 14lbs max kung leader line sa 5 grams.

Im using a 6'6 Medium rod and 2500 reel loaded with 15lbs braid and 20lb leader and a 10g lure. Ok nba sa setup ko yun since di nman ako sanay sa long cast.
