It’s sad they are closing beach over the pippin plovers I grew up since the 1980s camping on race point beach my father grew up camping on the same beach my grandfather started going to race point I like the 1950s and this year they never even opened it for camping my family had a bunch of friends that’s went camping on race point and now no one goes anymore and this is people that’s been going since they was kids and been taking there kids since they was born like me I use to run and play in the surf and sand with a diaper full of poop and sand and now you got to camp i the parking lot smfh
Did you end up getting a permit? We went out several times in the spring / early summer. Sand was pretty soft on the front beach.. almost got stuck. Unfortunately we weren't able make it out end of summer, our favorite time.
You need to purchase an annual Oversand Vehicle (OSV) permit from the town of Orleans (available to residents and non-residents). For tools, you need a shovel, tow rope, jack, jack support (board), tire gauge, and spare tire.
