Thank you, Anthony. I haven't heard this since the seventies---a friend from Newfoundland had it on an LP. I've heard many versions of this song since then, but this is still the best.
Glad you enjoyed it! "What A Time", is a double CD release with a lot of their best tunes. I am partial to the North Sea Gas & Calum Kennedy versions myself, but this is wonderful, as well.
Here listening to this song i lost my uncle Winfred he was a great man 86 years old a true gentleman goung to miss you Win god bless and keep you may you rest in peace

If this is what you're looking for, I highly recommend checking out the Scottish group, North Sea Gas. They have some great tunes!

So sorry for your loss.
Loved this group from their early days! 🎶
tricia odonnell Fergus O’Byrne still sings at O’Reilly’s in St Johns NL
I think this is the best recording of this beautiful and haunting song.
I agree, the lads hit it out of the park! If you haven't already done so, check out the North Sea Gas version. It too is amazing.
Denis Ryan nailed it
What a voice any hope of making a come back.
Wouldn't say so. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Dermot O'Reilly passed, back in 2007. It's a great collection of tunes, sure.
A great song' but this fellows voice is too hard for my liking. Sean Cannon' would make a great job of it.
