You always have such a great mix on your Make 9, and I love seeing how you get on with them throughout the year. It's always so inspiring. You have beautiful plans!
Thank you so much Theresa, I am very excited about all of these (and a little bit intimidated by a couple, which I suppose is a good thing too). I am excited to get started on this list, and I'm quite pleased I've chosen items that will make sense to want to make / wear in different seasons of the year. Better get on to the summer styles ASAP! 😄
@SoSarahSewed that's a really nice way to naturally spread the projects throughout the year. I absolutely did not consider which seasons would suit my projects. 😬 We'll see how we go!
What a great assortment of projects! Can’t wait to see your progress as the year goes on ☺️ Especially excited for your Christmas quilt, such a fun idea 😍 Also, Dawn Service without a coat is brutal! A quilted Tamarack will be just the ticket 👌
Happy New Year, Sarah. I really love your plans for the Make 9 and I look forward to seeing your progress in due course. Your channel is growing nicely, Im so happy for you and I send you best wishes for your continued success throughout the coming year. xx
Thank you so much! I hope your year is off to a great start. I am really excited about all of my plans and am looking forward to sharing my progress as the year goes on! xx
Thank you Irene! Oh I am excited for you with the quilting! I think there are so many great things about quilting. There is so much fun to be had with colour if that excites you. And no fitting concerns! 😆
Thanks for the Make nine plan. Sam on ‘ Sew Let’s Sparkle with Sam’ has made a bomber jacket with sequins. Also ‘Sequingirlie creates’ has made heaps of quilted jackets. Perhaps watch these vlogs, to see their comments.
Oh thank you for the tips! I have seen a few of the Sequin Girlie quilted jackets - I will return to those videos before I get started on mine, good thinking!
I have a quilted jacket on my Make 9 too and had the same thought about keeping it simple. I have a store bought quilted coverlet that I’ve been saving and I plan to use that. If I love it and wear it a lot, then I’ll put in the effort to make my own beautiful quilted fabric for it. I’m also planning to make the Stripe Hype! I put a different sweater on my Make 9 (Framed by Andrea Mowry) but I already have the yarn for the Stripe Hype. Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch inspired me to make it.
Oh thank you Erin, your plans sound great! I'll be sure to watch your video and hear all about them this week! Using the store-bought coverlet sounds very sensible for your quilted jacket. I should keep my eyes out for something similar. ☺️
If only winter lasted longer than two weeks on the Gold Coast. But it doesn't so I can't justify too much knitting and quilting. So I'll just have to look forward to your nine projects.
Your plans for 2025 seem doable from my point of view, based on all you did in 2024. Since I don’t knit, my opinion doesn’t count for much, huh?! I love the choices though! Can’t wait to watch them evolve!
Haha, I think you're right - it should definitely be achievable! I think I've kept the knitting, in particular, pretty simple! (hopefully!) Thank you so much!
Such an interesting range of projects, you’ve given me some fantastic ideas. I think I’ll make my first make 9 this year. How special that your choir gets to perform at the dawn service. My daughter did this several years ago with her school choir at our local dawn service, it is a very special memory.
Thank you Jane! Yes, the dawn service - although super early! - is probably my favourite event of the year for my group, as it has such significance for the people who attend, and they are so appreciative. I think it gives the students some great perspective too. It's a fun challenge for me to choose interesting and appropriate repertoire to present too.
Lovely plans Sarah. I think it’s wise to scale back your plans for the Tamarack jacket…but having said that I keep looking at this gorgeous fabric and imagining quilting it (I’ve never quilted anything!) and turning it into a jacket. I thought something like this might be a happy compromise for you 😊
Thank you Lauren! Yes I think I have made a good choice with that one! When I think about it I still am very undecided about what plain fabric I want to use, so the thought of creating a pieced fabric would just be way too much! 🤣
Nice variety of items in your 2025 make nine. I love that striped sweater. I think I've seen her either knitting it or wearing one like it in one of her vlogs. It's super cute! I think my favorite of your plans is the Christmas Quilt and I guess I will be waiting a while to see that one!! It's going to be great!
Thank you! Yes I am excited about the Christmas quilt too! I will have to stop myself from wanting to make that too early in the year - certainly will not let myself touch it until I've made my quilt coat at long last! 😄
Oh Sarah, I love the striped jumper. That looks fun to knit. There's a few things there on my last year's make nine that I still haven't made. The Tamarack and the Shelby. I hope you get to make them. I find your makes very inspiring. Happy New Year. Big hugs. Hope this year is amazing ❤❤
Hi Katrina, yes, I love the look of the striped jumper - it grabbed me as soon as I saw it! Oh I will look forward to seeing how you go with your Tamarack and Shelby and we can compare! Hope the school holidays are treating you and your family well, and that you're having a great summer! xx
Great plans for 2025 Sarah. I love the thought you put into your projects...items actually needed! I often wonder how some of the UA-cam sewists could possibly wear all their projects 😆
Thank you Lizann! I am definitely trying to be mindful of adding to my wardrobe with things I really want to wear, or finding gaps. I can't say I really neeeed any more dresses, but they are fun to sew! 😉
I love the Caitlin Hunter cowl pattern. It kind of reminds me of some of Orla Kiely's designs. I am already excited for your Christmas quilt, the fabric looks exquisite!!
Oh I see what you mean about the Orla Kiely resemblance! It's a very sweet design, isn't it? Hahaha, I am also excited to make the Christmas Quilt! I am going to hold myself back from that until September! 😂
Great video as always, so interesting seeing your plans and the reasoning behind them. I am also hoping to tackle the stripe hype sweater this year and I appreciated your optimistic attitude towards putting the same item on the list for another year. Your simplified plans for the quilted jacket sound like the perfect modifications to revamp the motivation and reward yourself with a practical yet fun piece.
Thanks Rachael! Yes, I'm not sure if that's the one I'll end up going with... I'll keep looking, but on first quick search it seemed to have a lot going for it!!
Hi Sarah, love your make 9 plans for 2025. I also have the Shelby dress on mine for 2025. I actually had the Shelby on last years make 9 but didn't get around to making. Its just transfered to 2025..🙃 I plan on making the long version as well. Also adding a pair of jeans to my list, I'm going to give them a try (wish me luck with them)...and a classic, slightly oversized button up shirt. Still thinking about the other 6 makes.... Looking forward to seeing your makes. Thank you for sharing. All the best for the New Year Happy sewing ❤
Hi Kim, oh that's fun that we both have the Shelby on our lists! Do you have a fabric chosen yet? I have considered jeans a few times... but I don't really even like wearing them much! 😆 Have fun choosing the rest of your patterns, and good luck with your jeans!
Happy New Year Sarah . Loved your vlogmas and now love your make 9 plans. I am going to do one this year too ( knitting and sewing) for the first time. Looking forward to seeing the results x
Thank you so much! I hope you've had fun deciding on your MakeNine Plans - I find them so inspiring to think about and to open my eyes up to new patterns and techniques. I hope your 2025 is off to a great start!
Beautiful makes nine plans. Looking forward to all the gorgeous makes!
🧵🧵🧵 💖💖💖
Thank you Constance!
I am busy sticking the tamarara set pattern together watching your video😂.
Haha always fun when that happens! Are you making the shorts or the pants? I hope you enjoy the pattern! I might start mine this week....

I so enjoyed the thoughtful story you wove into your Make 9 plans! I’m confident you will make it happen.
Thank you so much Janet! I am feeling quite confident too about this set of patterns - and very excited!
Love your variety of projects Sarah. You’ve inspired me to look at mine for 2025 too. Can’t wait to see all your makes
Oh great, Wendy! I hope you enjoy planning your makes for 2025!! Always a fun and inspiring time of year, I find. 😄
What a great assortment of projects! Can’t wait to see your progress as the year goes on ☺️ Especially excited for your Christmas quilt, such a fun idea 😍

Thank you Lauren! I am really excited to get going with them all! Yep I am determined to be toasty and warm at this year's dawn service! 😂
Happy New Year, Sarah. I really love your plans for the Make 9 and I look forward to seeing your progress in due course. Your channel is growing nicely, Im so happy for you and I send you best wishes for your continued success throughout the coming year. xx

Fabulous plans, Sarah. I'm looking forward to seeing them being made. You've inspired me to give quilting a try. Happy sewing 😍

Great variety of makes Sarah. Perhaps you could look for a quilted doonah cover in the op shop and repurpose. Look forward to seeing your makes.
Thanks Jules - yes, I really must hit the opshops and see what I can find! I haven't done that for ages!
If only winter lasted longer than two weeks on the Gold Coast. But it doesn't so I can't justify too much knitting and quilting. So I'll just have to look forward to your nine projects.
Haha I can understand that! I only have a couple of months a year where I am guaranteed to not need my winter woolies here in Melbourne! 😂
Great plans. I look forward to them being made throughout the year ❤
Thank you Deb!
The quilted jacket looks very nice…. I am tempted to make one too this year….look forward to yours…😊🇦🇺
Thank you Ria! They look so cosy! I can't wait to be able to wear mine! 😄
The fabric for your shirt/possible shorts set is beautiful! And OMG the Christmas quilt design is truly pear-fect!
Isn't the fabric so pretty?! And yes I can't wait to make the Christmas quilt!!
Great patterns selection Sarah 😊
Thank you Sylvia!

Australian to American translation needed for the difference between a dress and a romper, please. (Description of Shelby dress.)
Ahhhh a romper is a playsuit! In the Shelby you get the option of the bodice attaching to a skirt, or to wide leg shorts / pants!
Your plans look great for this year, as usual! Looking forward to your progress on them.😊
Thank you so much Nancy!
Great plans.
Thank you! I am excited about them all!
