Agar tum hostel allotment ke pehle hi din aaye toh you have rights to choose any 3 roommates you want and any room you want after that day for tumhe kisike sath adjust kar denge so haa reh sakte ho frnds ke sath bas pehle hi din aana!

But for hostel allotment after 1st year hostel allotment is depend on your cgpa ...and in 3rd year there is separate building for all branches topper ..but after all ...all is depend on your scoresss!!!
