installing a PVC pipe beneath the rootball into a small bed of rock will allow you to do this without all the mess each time. Put a cap over the pvc once youre done.
I build a plant ring out of landscape edging & place it around my tree. This keeps the water & fertilizer within the ring & will seep STRAIGHT DOWN to the root zone. Inside the ring I mulch w large bark chunks. This not only keeps the hot sun off the soil & prevents the sun from drying out the soil, the bark allows you to water w a hose. It disperses the water so the water will not wash the soil away. No pipe required. !
good question , I'm not an expert on telling root rot from under watering. I'm hoping that deep water will help loosen up the soil deep down so it drains better.
Help. I've watched the video twice and I think I read all the comments and I've yet to see anybody mention what the plan of this is? I'm researching the best way to deep water my trees. Is he pouring water on the surface around the ground holes with pvc pipe hoping they'll seep deeper and faster? Can't figure out why the venting holes are on the top, or why it's U shaped pvc. If this is a potentially brilliant idea, I'd like to make sure I understand it. Thx
@@Donz455 thx for reply. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious but I don't see you in the video inserting a hose nozzle/ end into the ground. I see you blasting the hole shaft for the PVC which works surprisingly well, but once the PVC U-pipe is inserted....., are you doing something unfilmed with the garden hose? I even looked at the previous video you made to see if this was like a part 2 video as if you had already covered my question in a previous video, but I don't see any previous mention of this technique.
@@jonhildebrand2995 The PVC U pipe goes to my garden spicket. Its just a pvc pipe ran underground to the location of tree instead of running a garden hose.

I wonder if there is a filter fabric you can put around the pipe to keep soil out.
Good idea if your soil isn't too rocky
Good job and you are enjoying it too.
Not small air pockets either, big ones. Hope it works for you
Would the air pockets be bad for the roots? Right now the tree's seem to be doing great but I'll keep an eye on it
How are they all connected? Or is each tap dedicated?
May cause air pockets, which ain't good. Good idea in theory but might want nd up causing more problems
Dude, wearing a highviz jacket in your own back yard? There must be a law against that somewhere...
lol
Did the soil go inside the pipe a lot after couple of months
I'm not sure. I don't have a way to check that unless I pull the pipe out. I would suspect a little bit of soil makes its way in.
you can add stones around the pipe to prevent closure of the holes
thanks for the video, how do you deal with root rot in that clay soil?

I put the pvc pipe in the ground. 5ft straight down. So the water is being injected into the ground , its not soaking in from the top. Hope that helps

Seems like it would clog up? Wouldn’t it be better to boar a hole first? Thanks Alos, what area of Amwrica are you in? You said clay soil...
I use the galvanized pipe to boar the first hole. Is the what you mean?
What size bit is that and size pvc
3/4 IN PVC
1/4 INCH BIT
Most of you videos are marked as for kids, why?
I just like making videos for fun. I just don't want to see mean comments so I keep comments off
@@Donz455 I see. But I don't see anything on that channel that warrants hate at all. But I'm happy to get an answer.

You do know that trees roots need oxygen, don't you?
