It really game changer for styling I couldn't agree more. On the other hand, the performance makes me dizzy. Some weird flickering appears unexpectedly sometimes. It would be great if some of these issues could be addressed in the near future
@@galaxies_dev I’m currently developing an app and I would like to add live activities but there are no tutorials or real good explanation with expo and react native 🥲 Thanks to you !
Anything slower than unistyles is a no go for me. Performance is very critical on mobile apps, native wind adds a few ms to rendering, those matter a lot on mobile.
The number of classes on a single line to style a simple View is really bad. And If I want to say support landscape I will end up with extra classes 😅 Maybe I am resisting it now and will use it later but currently I prefer writing my own named classes for better readability
Honestly the readability of tailwind isnt really an issue if you use the prettier plugin. Then everything is always in the same order which makes it very easy to read
I have used it before , and it can’t keep up wen it comes to UI consistency across many android devices variants out there , ended up using original Rn- styling in most components!
Don't know how confident I'd feel with styling my entire app just passing strings into components. Might be more confident if it was done using typed interfaces where you could instead pass in a typed object to go into the components. Its likely possible to set this up manually, but thats also exactly what the standard stylesheet does, so may defeat the purpose a little.
⚡ Stay on top of Expo commands with my new cheat sheet: download.galaxies.dev/cheat-sheet
EXPO should stop working on supporting both mobile and web, they should FOCUS on building ONLY for mobile then they'll be 10X more powerful.
Agreed
Web is being done by the community IIRC
Completely agree with this. I would use Next.js for Web.
💯
Agreed
I just love how web systems and implementations keep finding it's way to react native.
Eventually everything will be aligned.

I think the team is constantly working on it, so make sure to report those issues!
Really nice summary Simon. v4.1 looks fantastic.
Great job covering so much in so little time! 👏
NatIveWindUI looks promising, looking forward to test these components in a next project.
Give it a try!
@@galaxies_dev surely, thanks for making this video ❤
Can you make a tutorial about expo and live activities on iOS with react native ? Thanks ! 🙏
Thanks for the idea!

What about performance?

They don’t strive for reanimated compatibility? Didn’t that kind of hold up 4.x for a long time? Seems like they were striving for it.
NativewindUI is what ionic/framework7 should've been. Damn
Does nativewind cause any performance issues during build or on device?
Why does it make apps bug sometimes?
just on time for my next app
LMK how it worked
Thank you this is amazing
Hi, make some project with nativewind with setup tailwind in project.
Thanks a lot
Great content, thank you so much! Is there a way to get the code ?
There is also Gluestack-ui v2
Simon, your affiliate link isn't working from the video description btw. The link is only using the first part of the url.
Thanks, fixed now!
Everytime I go low and come back you have different look, full beard mode😂
Haha yeah the top hair got shorter this time :D

i can't use animation in nativewind mobile?
I have used it before , and it can’t keep up wen it comes to UI consistency across many android devices variants out there , ended up using original Rn- styling in most components!
But i think gluestack might be the answer🔥
I had the same problem and went back to styled-components
Is it faster than ionic app? Or more native?
Yes
This is awesome

goooooood job
Unistyles FTW 💪
The only true answer
what ftw means?
@@MuhammadFahrezafor the win
If it worked with Expo Go, a lot of people would have tried it.
Am I missing something? NativeWind has been around for a while now..
New version v4 finally released last week
Exist boostrap in react native? Or something similar ?
this is fuck&%9g awesome!!
I'm more into unistyles than nativewind
Why in the world am i not subscribed ? my bad, done!
Thanks!
This would be a game changer for React-Native
game changer for copy-paste devs
@@gnom-omYou specifically must be very excited
anybody is thinking about performance?? or you so lazy that cant use StyleSheet
but most of the components are paid
But NativeWInd itself is free :)
This is outdated, Been using Nativewind on my production apps for over a year now... I think the title of this video is a misleading.
The new version has massive improvements over the past NW version
Use React Native Reusables instead...
Am betting on gluestack UI 💪
Webdev soy boys who use tailwind should stick to making NextJS saas slop
Not a huge fan of this trend. Tailwind takes the soul out of development
Bro what? It enables me to write so much faster + you can still write custom styles if you want
And it actually looks better, it's not an opinionated css framework, it's simply a utility
What do you mean by that
I felt the same until I started using it fully
Tell me you don't code without telling me you don't code
who tf uses expo for web/desktop? what a joke
Why?
