Hi. Very lovely video. I'm unable to access the link to the free course, it keeps saying I've been blocked when i click on it, is there a way i can resolve this? I'd really appreciate the assistance. I'd really like to get started on bookkeeping, I'm looking to become a bookkeeping and finance VA. Thank you
You’re welcome! I’m a big fan of college students starting online businesses like this in college. If nothing else, it just gives you options when you graduate if you end up not enjoying your career path.
i have one question and mostly people don't ask this, but how do I price my services? this is a very tricky part for me and I am just in the starting stage of learning bookkeeping. Amazing video btw gave me a lot of clearance.
Sorry for the delayed response, but we recommend that bookkeepers charge around $500/month for basic monthly services. If you're doing add-ons like payroll, that could increase your fees to $750/month. Hope that helps, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Youness Nasih, and I’m from Morocco. I am interested in working remotely as a bookkeeper for U.S. clients. Is this possible? Additionally, do you have any tips on how to get started?
Hey, thanks for the comment! We've had a few other questions about working outside of the U.S. for U.S.-based clients, and as long as your clients know that you aren't in the US and they consent, and you also use US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for bookkeeping you'll be fine. We live in a very connected world these days, and it isn't uncommon for international bookkeepers to work with US clients. In fact, one of our first bookkeepers for this business was based in the Philippines.
Where is the free training? Ur link held me up for a whole hour then the course costs $597 which is not bad but it says free training on the previous page. So im kind of confused here
Greetings. Enjoyed the video and am strongly considering. I have a important question.. you touched on it. Vacation. How do you manage vacation? Do you have to take you laptop wherever you go so that you can reconcile accounts while traveling in Paris or are you able to really vacation? Will clients let me take a trip to South America for two weeks and then get there stuff done I get back? Maybe its more of a 'hybrid' vacation... What are your thoughts?
I love this question! I would say, most clients require monthly work to close the books, so it’s fairly easy to take a dedicated 2 week vacation even as a soloprenuer. Unless you do payroll, there’s not many deadlines to work off of.
Hello I live in Switzerland and I work right now in an international firm. But as I will be soon a mum, I need to take a long break and I will not come back to work for sure. Do you have any tips? I have the ACCA certification.
First of all, congrats on the new baby coming soon! It sounds like you're looking for some work on the side while you're on parental leave -- that right?

Hey! Great question - the base charge is for the program itself, and you'll get 24/7 access to all of the course material and any updates for life. The $37/month is for access to the coaching group, where you'll get direct access to Kristin and the entire team to help guide you as you grow your business. We have regular live coaching calls where you can jump on and get personalized advice for your business, and you'll have the ability to ask as many questions as you'd like in the coaching community as well. I am a CA finalist from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan ( ICAP ). I have been an audit associate since last 3.5 years. Now I want to provide bookkeeping services to USA clients, do you think firms or clients will accept me for their bookkeeper there?
So there is quite a bit of competition when it comes to offshore services since there’s a lot of companies out there that offer outsourced and offshore bookkeeping services to firms. You may have better luck working directly with clients, especially if you can land a few clients and start getting referrals. But as far as providing bookkeeping services to US clients, it's not a problem as long as your clients know and consent and you use US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for bookkeeping. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions just let us know.

However, we find that most of the students in the program we run can find their first client within a month or two with the right focus. I have no background in finance, bookkeeping etc, I come from social work background...and have no certificate...what are my chances? Can I still get work doing this? I am looking for something outside the medical/social field...my concern is that bookkeeping will eventually be taken over by AI ... so i hesitate...any advice? Thank you
Let me address the AI thing first: yes, we realize the AI is a real concern in some fields, but for bookkeepers, it's something you can leverage to make your job easier. (We have a module in our course that teaches bookkeepers how to use AI to their advantage!) The reality is that most businesses will still need an actual human to explain what's going on with their finances. For example, a skilled bookkeeper can help a business owner decide when it's time to make a new hire or cut software costs, whereas AI isn't going to do that -- and that's what sets us apart from AI. As far as your chances, you really don't need to have a background in bookkeeping or finance. Bookkeeping is learning how to categorize expenses, running payroll, creating reports for tax season, etc. The fact that you have a background in social work means you're probably pretty good at talking to people and understanding what's going on in their life, which I think would make you a huge asset! Hope that helps!
Not trying to hate but do you think this is a oversaturated field? Im thinking of joining but im kind of worried theres too many people doing it? What are your opinions on the matter?
That's not hating at all - it's a great question! No, bookkeeping is not too saturated. There are about 5 million business started in the U.S. per year (per www.commerceinstitute.com/new-businesses-started-every-year/), and many of them will need bookkeeping services as they grow (along with the 33 million existing businesses as well). The company that handles our bookkeeping has actually been turning down businesses lately since they're at capacity, and we've already seen our students reaching our $5k club ($5k in monthly recurring revenue) in the past few months shortly after they've taken the Brilliant Bookkeeper course.
