Ahh, it all makes sense to me now. That was a nice redfish your wife caught on the Z-Man Mulletron, yesterday.

I file my barbs down on trebs. I ordered some of the BKK hooks that i inquired about a few videos back. I generally only use single inlines on my big topwaters. Full size super spooks with the middle hook removed and on halco roosta poppers. I personally use 1/0, 2/0 or 4/0 (big hook for the big ole poppers) owner inline hooks and owner split rings on everything with a split ring.

Awesome video I use single inline hooks on all my hard baits on a 7/6 medium heavy fast action and I love them like you said you just have to use the right rod with them

So many anglers love the inlines but figuring out that rod to lure balance is everything

Kinda came to the same conclusion. I use Medium for treble hooks and MH fast for single inline hooks. I changed out some for inline, but still prefer treble with squashed barbs. Wish mirrolure would sell w/ barbless hooks.

It’s always about cost and providing varied options but I will mention it to Mirrolure

So I use inlines on my hard lures. But I also use 18 -24 in leaders. I do not like casting my knots through the guides all day long. My exception is if the rod is set up for trolling.

Have you tried the modified Albright or FG Knots? They move through the rod guides easily for me…

@@flatsclasscharters FG. And my guides on the bait caster rods are small. They impede the knot some. No backlashes. But I can see the knot damage at the end of the day. Spinning rods seem better.

Hi CA, I moved to Florida last year from the north east where I was fishing for stripers and blues. Your content has been invaluable for learning the St Pete fishery. I did change all my trebles out for singles, however I was also missing fish. But I liked the ease and conservation elements of the inline set up. To combat losing fish and to get the best of both worlds I started using both style of hooks on my plugs especially with topwaters. I’d hang an inline off the back and attach a treble to the center of the plug. I started doing this as many striper plugs utilize this setup and some manufacturers even sell plugs like this including Super Strike. I found this dramatically increased my hookup ratio. Have you tried this approach before? If so I’d bee keen to get your thoughts. Thanks!

I haven’t tried that combination personally but have heard that many anglers are doing that and that it improved their hook up ratio

What happened to video 1.0? Watched, commented now it's gone and video 2.0 is up. All clips and discussion of the Zillion is edited and now only a lowly SLX appears and I don't think that was even in the first video. Re-win Shimano sponsorship?

No not any of that actually just a mix up on the clips from two different videos my friend

Wow, a season or so ago, you "sold" the concept of inline hooks with many MirrOlures like sliced bread.

I approached them about why not have offerings with inlines but they couldn’t sell them… after some experimentation I had to up power and action to get consistent results. Hence I made this video for all those frustrated by missed fish. Appreciate the feedback, Pete

@@flatsclasscharters I appreciate your reply. Confidence in using the inlines, with no grass issues, declined along with their hook rate. The fishing along flats of the mid-coastal waters in Texas suffered.

I do like those inlines on the mirrodines for that slower fall rate. Almost makes them a floater/diver that snook really like.
