Absolutely agree. I have boycotted them since. I’m using my old lippies and then I’m totally done with them. I have the power as the consumer to show that dishonesty is not ok with me.
Thanks Lexi for a dfferent and welcome take on the year-end "Best of" videos. Agree that Chanel has made a great comeback. Hope you stay healthy and speedy recovery to your family.
Agreed. Guerlain - slap in the face. Dior - too many mediocre products. Givenchy - one huge mistake with their powder may cost them a lot. Tom Ford - poor quality overall, less than few good products to keep luxury image of the brand. YSL - quads, bronzers, blushes, building image through quality to gather larger customer base, it won’t last forever so now it’s the time to purchase. Prada - perfect, they are getting their speed, I feel it’s going to be a solid makeup brand. To me the most consistent is Sisley, I’ve been using their products for years and they are all great: lipsticks, blushes, bronzer, lip liners, even though they’ve been released few years ago, they are still one of the best on the market, they don’t reformulate and I think that’s what makes them different from other makeup brands and that’s what keeps their products high quality, plus their new mascara is fantastic. Happy New Year everyone!:)
TomFord is bcoz he sold the brand 💯 to Estee Lauder and once a big group take control of a high end brand, they’ll decrease the standard 😢 Dior is a shamble including its fashion, always follows Chanel yet never measure up! 😂 Guerlian is just sad!!! Sisley is privately owned by the family hence why it’s still very high standard. Prada’s formula is good but I feel their packaging doesn’t look expensive, I think their first try many years ago was really cool and fun.
And that is exactly why small familly business is the way to go in beauty, fashion, restaurants, hotels…they have to try and keep the quality high to be profitable. Large groups destroy what they touch.
I have to agree, Chanel really stole my makeup heart this year!! I was purchasing all the new releases "until" that weird fall/Halloween collection landed!! But I was back at the boutique to purchase the new spring 2025 pallet and some of the singles!!!
I agree with you about Sarah Creal (we are somewhat skin-tone twins)--my primary issue has been that every time I try to visit her website, my computer tells me that there's a security risk, so I can't purchase from her directly. But I was thrilled when she came to Sephora, and I just LOVE the lip products I've tried and the eye cream (wish I could wear the concealer and SPF, though!)!
I’m also very upset with Guerlain. The change in lipstick cases has put me on a no buy for any future Guerlain lipsticks. The fragrance change in the meteorites was soul crushing. I loved the original scent. I love the honey oil glow but they’ve leaked in my bag, again a fail. Guerlain used to be my favorite and now, I hardly buy any makeup from their brand. Not to forget my favorite foundation from them was discontinued. 🥺
Great video, Lexi! I agree with you on so many things! 2024 was the first year I was on a low buy (your videos were so helpful-thank you!), and I'm planning to continue doing so in 2025. Some brands helped me a lot to keep my money in my wallet. 😅
Guerlain's Rouge G lipstick case change was the end. They also changed the amazing packaging of my favourite L’Essentiel High Perfection Foundation. Green washing!
Honestly, I just didn't think of mentioning them this time. Chantecaille seems to be still struggling and Surratt has been pretty silent this year overall. I liked their new highlighters a lot but not huge on the packaging personally.
Hi Lexi great overview 🙌 Guerlain has been so strongly parfumée already so how more they could increase😱 I haven’t bought anything from them, for years. And that was the first luxury brand that I used in my early 20’s . I grew up under Soviet Union system, so it was no private capital, no fancy makeup, so after we got independence, it opened this gorgeous only luxury makeup boutique. The sales girls wore LBD and makeup was perfect, so yep I spent a lot of time and my money there 😂 To me new, this year , was YSL and CDP eyeshadows I got both from holiday collection. CDP it doesn’t feel like holiday, but YSL golden lace, I can’t get enough. I probably going to get the new rose one. I wanted to get TF rose exposed, I watched a few reviews , and I like texture and dimension, of TF, but I don’t see rose in TF it’s more brown than pink, it’s definitely more neutral and cool, than warm, so I will go with YSL. I love Prada eyeshadows, but I don’t know why I don’t wear them enough 🤔 maybe before I decide to get YSL rose, I need to look at Prada one with reds and burgundy 🤔 have a blessed day🙏❤️
I personally prefer some brands sticking to what they do great. I hope Armani will maintain the luminous concealer which is my go to everyday perfect for milia. Being in a “fast makeup” era will damage consumers long-term
I agree, I want brands to slow down and curate their lines with more thoughtful products that are well-designed and I don't want all the brands to just have the same stuff as everyone else - be unique!
Hi Lexi! I always look forward to your videos. They are best in class. First, hope your husband and girls get better soon! I do agree with your assessments of various brands. Some of my favorite (most used) products this past year are Chanel (all categories), Cle’ de Peau (eye shadows, mascara, pressed powder, lipstick and lip liners), Tom Ford (lipstick and liners only), and my favorite - the Sarah Creal Adults are Talking lip balm. I struggle with really dry lips. I also purchased the Sisley undereye concealer in Light 2, and am very pleased with the formula and coverage. Hope Sadie isn’t overwhelmed by the snow and cold temps! Take care❤
Thank you Maureen! Sadie loves the snow and does not mind that her legs are too short, lol. She just wants me in it with her all the time which is not fun for me.
Great summary of the good & bad! Dior did produce so many products last year many I got sucked into but did like for the most part like the liquid blushes & luminizers, glow filter, lippies. Totally agree they need to improve on the products that are hard pan like the blushes. I can’t keep up with the lippies that keep coming up like the new shades of lip balms (cool & warm tone). It’s crazy how quick they produce their lip line with new shades. I agree with you on Suqqu they release their collections by season so it doesn’t feel too fast or slow. You don’t feel bombarded but feel a consistency of when there will be a new release. Thank you for your thoughts on these companies. I hope you & your family are feeling better. Love the short video of Sadie running in snow. 😊🐶
Great video Lexi! Guerlain is a big No for me- fragrance, design and cost!😂I agree with most of your other Dior released some great products- I really wanted to try the shadow Palette from that Paris collection but couldn't get it!😢Agree w you on Prada!😂 Hope your family gets well soon! Happy New Year!!🎉
I'm a bit confused about the Terracotta fragrance 😅I have one of the limited edition bronzers with a bee in it and the scent really isn't that strong at all... I'm sure my nose is fine. Is something wrong with my bronzer
I'm not sure as I didn't try the bronzers this year but my previous ones are decently strong but not nearly as strong as their new products like the meteorites and blushes.
Agree with so much you said ( and I'm probably not familiar enough with the rest 🤭). I find Suqqu the most exciting, their limited collections are the only ones giving me fomo 😁 The way Jorge composes the eye palettes is so beautiful and often unique and unexpected, he truly has an eye of a painter, it's fine art. They do suffer from some repetition, but when he gets it right, it's stunning (like mirroring the cold water reflections in the pre-spring collection 👌🏻). I find them so evocative of his inspiration and time of the year and in that aspect they remind me of my favourite perfumes. Cle de Peau on the other hand, in my subjective opinion, seems to channel all their design efforts into their limited collection packaging instead of the product inside. Guerlain felt like such a betrayal. And that holiday eye quad? Shame as the packaging (again) was so much fun 😖
Yes! That collection is incredible! I agree that Cle de Peau doesn't have much creativity with their limited edition makeup but I think their products are really well done and I can't recall having an actual fail from them. I feel the same way about Guerlain holiday!
I’ll say it again for the people in the back. GIVENCHY AND PRISM LIBRE. WHY change a great powder. I found 2 old formulas and bought them. And Chanel colors lately ? NO. It’s all for younger peeps. More of the lux companies are
Lexi you are too nice. Guerlain chainging their lipstick cases and refills was dishonest and greedy. There, I said it. Love your videos!❤
I totally agree with you on that one!
Absolutely agree. I have boycotted them since. I’m using my old lippies and then I’m totally done with them. I have the power as the consumer to show that dishonesty is not ok with me.
I agree. I will not purchase any Guerlain products no matter how much I like them.
Lexi is SO POLITE with this situation and as You Say “ Too Nice!!” Really NOT GOOD GUERLAIN‼️‼️😢😔
1,00000 agree 😂😂😂
Thanks Lexi for a dfferent and welcome take on the year-end "Best of" videos. Agree that Chanel has made a great comeback. Hope you stay healthy and speedy recovery to your family.

You are right - Sisley is great and consistent! I really love their products for both makeup and skincare!

The Guerlain lipstick case size change is a betrayal.
I agree!
I really want to see Prada bring out blush too!
I really hope they are working on it!
Such a fantastic video Lexi!! Thank you!! ❤ I agree with you on all of your superlatives for these brands.
Thank you Yulia!
Agree on so many of these! Really hope Prada will release new eyeshadow shades and expand to blushes!
I hope so too!
Thanks for the video Lexi. Hope your family is well soon. Prayers and God bless.
Thank you, you too!
Hi Lexi, thank you for the video! I’m looking forward to watching your foundation round-up video, as it’s been a while since your last one.❤
Like first, then watch .❤ Thank you very much for the review, Lexi
Thank you!

You didn’t comment on Chantecaille but I think you are just being kind. And no comment on Surratt which I think is hanging on by a thread.
Honestly, I just didn't think of mentioning them this time. Chantecaille seems to be still struggling and Surratt has been pretty silent this year overall. I liked their new highlighters a lot but not huge on the packaging personally.

Great summary of 2024 ❤
Thank you Catherine!
GREAT Review Lexi… SO Helpful. 🌟 I Hope All of You are feeling Better. Thank You‼️‼️☺️🌸
Thank you! We are all getting better!
@ YAY…That Stuff is MISERABLE‼️‼️‼️🤗
Agree with a lot of your thoughts on this video Lexi.

Thank you so much Lora! We are all finally feeling a bit better but just have low energy. The kids have been napping every day which is unheard of!

Guerlain should let you exhange older lipstick cases for free
That would be nice!
I'm still salty over Guerlain and their case debacle 🤨
Me too!
Omg I loved guerlain this year! So exciting to shake things up. They were getting so stuffy.
I wish they would tone down the fragrance

Givenchy removed the talc. The J&J talc case had everyone running scared, but it all came at a very convenient time. Clean, green wash their products.
It was definitely disappointing!
