It's funny how there are very small and narrowminded people out there that wrongfully label both Joel Chandler Harris and Walt Disney as racists and antisemites which are not true And yet they never had gotten the time to really understand them. Saw Song of the South multiple times (beautiful movie by the way) , my then former high school teacher by the name of Michael Pond told me about this movie and I was lead to watch it fully for the first time in my old laptop at 18 yrs old c.2009 When I lived in my former hometown Chicago where I was born and raised. One should not ignore their history and culture ,rather embrace them ,because if one starts ignoring and not remember their historical past they are bound to repeat it
JCH was huge part of "West End" atlanta, that`s where his home was located, elementary school name after him (JC Harris) has closed now a kipp academy school, on lucile ave. local library in "west End" named after him but now closed !
